TD's are so much different now from when I used to kill them pre-EOC :o Seems like 40-50 kills per hour was considered "good" back then IIRC Powercreep! But the idea is still the same. Deal as much damage as possible before prayer switch (every 3100 damage), switch gear (helm + weapon(s) + offensive prayer), repeat. And the ideal armor is still the same! The new interface and keybinds make it much less aggravating, though. Also I got 191 kills in an hour last night. Amazing.

Sample trip with 186 kills in one hour. First two minutes are normal speed, rest is sped up. 190 or more is very possible, but I make a bit of tiny errors that add up.

The only time private industries properly label their products is when the threat of government interference is present. Otherwise, it's simply a secondary form of marketing. And correction: private postal services can only work better in urban areas. USPS wouldn't be doing bad overall, and especially in urban areas, if attempts at neutering USPS's efficiency (e.g., unreasonable pension requirements) weren't common in order to incentive privatization. UPS is not going to deliver a package to some farmer without an address 400 miles from the nearest town or city. How would private roads on the scale and importance of the various interstate highways work for the poor? How would they work emergencies (war, natural disaster, etc)? I don't watch YouTube videos for opinions because it's a terrible format. Text is superior.

How do libertarians policies handle shared resources (e.g., ores, land, water) and problems (pollution)? How do libertarian policies counteract uninformed consumers (i.e., everyone)? How do libertarian policies handle important social services, such as the postal system or infrastructure? Well, to be blunt, libertarian policies simply don't work in those incredibly common examples. A well-regulated capitalist market with strong unions, in combination with ample support of state-provided services (education, healthcare, welfare, etc), is currently the only viable model at this point in time on any large scale. It's not ideal--unions will cause benefits to be a small margin higher than ideal, the various government services would require higher taxes, and other such things, but it reduces the negative aspects of capitalism while ensuring safety for the people (i.e., those without capital). Sadly, the the United States is not well-regulated, nor are unions strong, nor are the various state-provided services funded or, in many cases, even provided.

How does retiring early account for income discrepancies while employed? It's not like you continue working for Company X when you retire from Company X... Generally, the idea is to stop working, or work in a recreational/social sense. And by no means can you consider someone working full-time to make ends meet 'retired' even if they are collecting a pension or social security. Also, I think the requirement of 'the same job' is misleading. Depending on how finely you want to go, no two jobs are 'the same' even within the same company or group. Bob and Joe working in Microsoft on Excel as 'Senior Engineers' will have different requirements and different roles that could be argued to explain any pay gaps, for example. I definitely agree that women more frequently working certain jobs with lower pay regardless of gender, women tending to be less likely to negotiate, and having more family-orientated social roles results result in women receiving less pay. However, that's not a solution. For a poor metaphor... A cancer patient sees a doctor. She says, 'Doctor, I'm sick.' The doctor does some tests, comes back, and says, 'Well, you have a malignant growth in your lungs, probably caused by exposure to carcinogens. Thank you and have a nice day.' That's not a reasonable response from the doctor, and neither is saying women make less because X reasons a reasonable response. But the entire capitalistic economic platform is a disgrace. The discussion a page back about working 50+ hours or working under 40 hours, made me sick. And then you have free market economists and liberatarians and neoliberals who would gladly relax regulations for corporations while hypocritically restricting the rights of workers to protect themselves (i.e., unions)... It's all a mess, and the pay gap is one of many grievances caused by these destructive policies. The BLS, for one: http://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/womens-earnings/archive/womensearnings_2009.pdf See pages 9 through 34. There will be variance within each category, of course, but it's not like comparing a teacher in a rural Alabama public school alongside oil workers in the Dakotas or hedge funds managers in New York... That page doesn't load for me >_> Maybe because it's a 2 MB PDF. Are you on a mobile browser?

I'm not sure what you're trying to argue here. >_> Are you trying to argue that there's an equal number of women in STEM fields than men? That there's an equal number of male teachers as female teachers? That women working the exact same jobs as their male coworkers are getting paid less for doing the exact same work? The data compares jobs with the same 'category'. It is not comparing teachers to STEM.

[citation needed] I have never found found a study that clearly provides its data, accounts for all those factors, and explains its methods then concludes the wage gap is insignificant. Also, things like time off, hours worked, etc are meaningless in salaried positions, of which there are many. E.g., working 40 hours a week is better than 60 hours a week if you are paid $2,000 a month. And how do women retiring earlier impact the wage gap...? Normally, when you retire, you either aren't working or are working for recreational reasons... The BLS comparison compares jobs by a finer category, and although there can be variance within said category, it's not, by any means, comparing cashiers to bankers. The idea that women earn less than men because women are somehow different than men when it comes to employment and there is no greater problem is, in my opinion, identical to the idea that minorities are jailed more than non-minorities because [that's the way it is / minorities commit more crimes] and there's no greater reason based on their status as a minority.

I never thought I'd be able to do it, but over 180 Tormented Demons kills in an hour: Using non-superior elite void with all styles (noxious staff / royal crossbow / darklight & off-hand drygore mace). Going to get a noxious longbow when I clean up my bank and waiting for Pest Control to be on spotlight for superior void... Maybe those small upgrades, and melee dreadnips on kills where Destroy is on cooldown, I could maybe get 200 KPH...

18 July 2016 - Patch Week
My favorite patch notes was something like 'Holy water now removes the damage reducing buff from Tormented Demons like Darklight.' Such a tiny update really changed how I play the game.

What are you listening to right now!?
Been listening to "The Glowing Man" by Swans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFHQiYvuVlM It's very good. I especially like "The World Looks Red / The World Looks Black". I learned of Swans from the Macbeth (2015) trailer and they have become one of my favorite bands.

I reread Henry David Thoreau's 'Resistance to Civil Government' today after a terrible string of experiences with Windows 10. My Windows 10 installation is (and soon, was) just used for games since I run FreeBSD. However, the incredibly poor task scheduling performance when running multiple programs on my hardware and obnoxious 'user friendly' security measures forced my hand. Going to collect some data (game captures) off the partition and then wipe it with a friendly message, rather than zeroes. Somewhat related, do corporations count as an extension of the civil government since they own the legislative process? I believe they do, in an non-technical sense...

If I was American I would definitely be voting for Johnson or Stein. I couldn't in good conscience vote for either of the major party candidates. As a libertarian for the past 6 years I obviously support Johnson but he will never win. Best thing he can do is pull a Ron Paul and be seen as a moderate republican with a decent fiscal policy. I'm not under any illusions about Johnson's chances of actually winning, but given that I am unable to support a candidate with a chance of winning I might as well support one who is closest to my views. There's also the (possibly naive) idea that if a third party candidate gets a significant showing of popular support, mainstream candidates might tailor their positions to appeal to that base to some extent. In what world is Trump/Pence better than Hillary Clinton, unless you actually agree with Trump and Pence's political views? I'm voting for neither presidential candidate, nor the third-party ones. I will only vote for the other offices in November. Why not vote for a third party? Or do you just not agree with their policies in the same manner as the front runners? I don't agree, even weakly, with the policies of any third-party candidates. I'm not going to vote for someone I substantially disagree with.

People see Hillary in the same light. But depending for the 3rd party you support its either a vote for hillary or trump. I dislike Clinton and what her actual policies will be, but Trump is no better, and arguably worse. Clinton would be a continuation of the last decades of policies that has negatively affected individuals while greatly benefiting the very richest (and therefore the most powerful). Trump would likely be the same, but without as much finesse. Voting based on the bullshit metric like someone above is laughably asinine.

I knew nothing of the person Trump chose for Vice President. On viewing said person's voting record and views, I wish I never had. How can a person be so... inhuman? Sometimes the joke about politicians being lizard people offers a more reasonable explanation for some great number of politicians.

11 July 2016 - Port Sarim Invasion | Eastern Lands Crew Miniquest | Telos Change
All previous graphics update were just the graphics update. No new content. And best of all, a single graphics artist could rework an entire city in a week when factoring in the incredible low fidelity of the old areas! Now, it requires texturing and much more detailed geometry. The new Port Sarim rework on its own would be more work/effort than all the 2005 through pre-HD graphical reworks combined. And nearly every month there has been one or two 'low-effort updates'. Some of these updates improved the game, some of them were worthless (all the Fishing Trawler updates--there's at least 4 update weeks dedicated to improving that crappy minigame since 2005). In the last couple months there's been some good updates: boss pet overrides, Telos, Gower Quest, Kindred Spirits... Do you even try any of the new content?

Pokemon Go
I have a Windows Phone and thus cannot play it. There was an article in my local newspaper (Fayetteville Observer) about it, which was interesting. Will it have any interaction with the the new 3DS Pokemon games, Sun and Moon? I only want to get all 'perfect Pokemon' in the series...
