  1. I think Runescape should introduce a new minigame called The Death Pits. The concept is kind of like Duel Arena. Essentially you basically sign up for a death match with a random person, and you get their items if you kill them. I'm also quite sure this is RWT-proof. It is kind of like a combination between staking and pking, and should support a variety of different and creative strategies, and should be a lot more fair than other minigames, and plenty more risky. Yeah I know, the name isn't very creative, but I couldn't think of anything else. If you hav a suggestion for a name feel free to post it I probably won't be adding images because I have no clue how to do that stuff, but if you have anything to add, suggestions, comments or constructive criticism, please post. Concept of The Death Pits and How To Play It is a very simple game. First you register to fight, with an NPC who runs the game. Then you are teleported to a waiting room, while the game pairs you up with someone to fight. You can only be paired up with someone within 5 levels of you. Once the game has randomly selected an opponent for you, both of you are teleported to a room similar in design to the Duel Arena, only there is no way to exit. Then of course you fight to the death. The main conditions of the fight are listed below The riskiest part is you will never know who you're fighting. You could be fighting a one itemer, or someone with 3 styles of combat, expensive armor and a full inventory of food. Will you play it safe, bring in cheap items and hope for that lucky spec, or will you go all out and bring in your best gear to outlast the other person and have the best chance of winning? Conditions You will only be able to take in combat-related items(including food and pots), similar to how BH is. It will only be in ONE world. There could also possibly be an F2P world, making it two total. This is mainly for RWT prevention purposes(so the RWTers will never get paired with each other), but this means you will never have trouble finding a match. This could be worked with depending on how popular the game is. There is NO protect item. All other prayers are allowed. This is mainly to prevent RWTers from bringing 1 item and protecting it if they're not paired with their partner, but also eliminates 1 itemers. If you die, you lose ALL your items, and the opponent gets them. There is no way to retrieve untradable items. You cannot teleport, leave or forfeit once you enter the fighting room. If you log out, your character will stay logged in(as if you were in combat), even if your not in combat. Once again, mainly to prevent RWT, but it will also prevent x-loggers Summoning is allowed. I think it summoning would definitely be useful in this minigame and people could develop some very creative strategies with it. You must be 40 combat to play. This is mainly for RWT prevention purposes, but could be worked with depending on what happens. Besides that, anything goes. Location Description It doesn't really matter where this is located, but I think it might be an ounce more RWT proof and would add a cool feel to it if it was located in deep wilderness. It would be in a cave, similar to the layout of the Fist of Guthix starting cave. The fight area will just be in a room about as large as the Duel Arena. There would be many different types of arenas, it is completely random which one you will get(that adds on to the risk of the game). The style of the arenas would vary from open, to rangeable obstacles and unrangeable obstacles. Rewards Of course, the main reward is the opponents items. However, I think it'd be cool to have a small rewards system. It'd be different from most games though, you wouldn't get a certain amount of points from each win and then cash them in, it would be based on total number of kills. The rewards would not be consumable or tradeable, because such things are worthless a month after the game is released(i.e., Fist of Guthix). These rewards would be more like bonuses, something you only get once, or can only have 1 of. I think the rewards here would be more long term. I don't really have anything in mind, but if you can think of anything feel free to post. I also think there could be a high scores table, showing how much kills and deaths you have. RWT Preventions There would be no protect item, so RWTers will not want to risk the goods incase they aren't paired up with their partner. Saying that, there is literally almost no chance they would be paired up with their partner on the first try, because it will only be in one world. And that is assuming they are 5 levels within all of their buyers, which of course wouldn't happen. There is really no way to productively RWT in this.
  2. I totally agree!! When I saw this topic I thought it was a rant about someone hating runners, and I was about to bust out a huge post about why its a tactic but you did it for me :P. I love beating 130s by using tactics while they just stand in the center and take hits
  3. I hate one itemers with a passion. I'm a pure, so they are especially annoying. I've been duo pking in falador for a few days ago and I died 5 times, ALL to 1 itemers. However I do love that new trick that people are using to smite 1 itemers out of their weapon. They're finally getting what they deserve
  4. You make it sound like slayer is like the worst thing to happen to RS... Its really not that bad. I do slayer mainly because its just more interesting and fun than just sitting at bandits for hours. Its not the fastest exp or cash in the world, but its a good balance, and at least you don't lose any money.
  5. Hmmm...I know I'm new here lol but I just came across this topic and felt like I had to post this, just to get it off my chest if anything SO theres this girl that I like(what a surprise). First off we're both 15 if that helps. I met her last september at the beginning of school. I considered asking her out then but decided not to as I didn't really like her. Well we've talked pretty much every day since then because we have a class together and are pretty good friends now. But then about a month ago I realized I like her A LOT like more than I've ever liked anyone  and really want to be with her. But we've been friends for a long time now so I have no idea how to ask her out, or what she would think of it. One problem is just lack of interaction time...I mean most days all I do is talk to her a lot during class and then walk to her next class with her, so I don't know when I'd do it. I thought about trying to get her number, but I really wouldn't even know what to say for that, considering the circumstances. I feel like I've just waited way too long for the whole thing and its a lost cause... :wall: Any advice?
  6. The only problem I see with this is the "giving players who own rares the cash equilivant" thing. This would bring a HUGE amount of money into the economy since there is A LOT of rares out there, not to mention some players would own way over the max amount in GP of rares, so I don't know how that would be dealt with. The only way to permantly end the rares problem is just to out right make them untradeable and easy to get. There really is no other way around it.
  7. This has been going on forever now. Thankfully jagex has made it a lot harder for them to advertise on the actual game, since the censor blocks out .com, www and everything else you could think of.
  8. Its definitely possible and I don't even think its against the rules(correct me if I'm wrong). Theres probably a lot of hidden variables Jagex has put in the drop potential to stop things like this, but I've seen it done successfully many times. Its pure luck, some people have wasted millions, and some have gained millions. Also, as far as I know, you need to be carrying 75k of items, cash won't work. Your opponent needs to be carrying 25k of items.
  9. I remember when you could go to any world any play castle wars. Its less popular now and people only play on full or themed worlds. I think its success is really just based on the simplicity. Everyone can play without having to take a big long tutorial.
  10. Definitely over 1000, maybe even 2000. It makes me think of all the time I spent fooling around RS. If I had spent that time skilling, I'd be so good by now.
  11. Hmmm I wonder where that would fit in on the map...maybe it could even be the island the varrock museum talks about.
