Twilight.
Awesome. Shuddup Josh, or I'll own you. -.- How do you know my name? :o She's been watching you sleep for two months now. My mom recently finished Twilight. She said it was alright, but she was sort of "come on, get on with it already". She attributed this to having already seen the movie, but even when she's reread books she never thought like that. Guess that says something about it. Lmfao. Actually, I wasn't meaning you. Nvm, sorry. Yeah, it does drag on a bit with the lovey dovey stuff, but i like the storyline once they get into it.

Twilight.
=D> for Tripsis. Couldn't have said it better. It's true NOM, he doesn't abuse her. Cos' it's not on purpose at all. And pretty much just saying what he or she already did, Bella is the one that forces Edward to have sex with her.

Twilight.
Charming. This book character isn't one to be fantasizing about. Somehow you managed to miss the entire point of what I wrote there: Girls fantasize about having an Edward, but they shouldn't be, because Bella and Edward's relationship is UNHEALTHY and promotes SEXIST ideals. They are fantasizing about having a man that will abuse them, and because Edward is portrayed as so perfect, they don't see it. How many other books have a message like that and have been read by damn near every teenage girl on the planet? I am not saying that it is unrealistic in any way. Sadly it is very realistic; the kind of relationship that causes divorces and domestic violence charges. But because Edward is the star of the show, the "perfect man," this goes either undetected or ignored. Grr to you, nub. *Scowls* Okay, this is a fairly innocent book when you're not a nerd that looks right into areas & finds dirt about it. There are MUCH worse books. At least it's not a complete romance that ties your head in because the couple have sex every single chapter and is completely pointless to read. Twilight is a good read, it is a bit of a love story, and the people who've read it generally think it's written well. You overreact. Not every teenage girl on the planet reads it :!:

...Bella and Edward don't have sex It was written by a Mormon #-o They do have sex, and have a vampire child that breaks Bella's back in a gruesome and unnecessary birth scene. The girl is then sold to Jacob as a consolation prize, since when it matures in seven years he'll be able to have sex with her instead of Bella. But this all happens in Breaking Dawn, so I suppose I just spoiled it for you. SM being a Mormon has nothing to do with it, except to make sure that Bella and Edward got married first. Yes, because made-up stories influence people whether you like it or not. Uncle Tom's Cabin was a piece of crap as far as writing goes, but the story it told was a huge factor in the eventual emancipation of the slaves later in the American Civil War. I can find lists of banned books that were banned because of the ideas they presented. Now why would these books be banned for these ideas if they couldn't influence the readers? And here we come to Twilight, a book that does indeed present sexist ideas through representation in a relationship that is idealized. If you will stop telling me that I have issues and examine your own words, they speak in favor of this: "Bella loves him . . . so does it matter?" You're too wrapped up in the tru wuv aspect that you ignore the fact that Edward is the one with serious issues, not the poor forum goer that points them out. So we have proof right here on this thread that Twilight influences people, and in a bad way. Twilight presents a highly unhealthy relationship as the ideal, which blinds the young women who read it to the unhealthy aspect and sets them into a fit of yearning for the "perfect" man, one like Edward. But he is not perfect. Far from it. The bruises he gives her would be a cause for an investigation into domestic violence, if it weren't for the fact that she becomes an immortal vampire and she's so head over heels for him that she wouldn't say anything anyway. Yeah, what NOM said, they do have sex, once they've gotten married. Maaaaan, my disliking of you is really growing, y'know. In case you didn't realize, A LOT of books influence people in a bad way. Twilight is not near the worst of them. What's so wrong with girls fantasizing about a book character? Obviously (sadly for some) they're never going to get thee perfect Edward, but what do you have against girls dreaming? He tried his best not to hurt her, and she begged him for it, and seeings he'd do anything for her.. There we go. PLUS. She married him, which was his condition. And then he had to fulfill hers, because he promise. So at least he kept that.

Don't say it sucks until you read it nub. -_- Your statement means nothing at the moment. Cliche, depends on how many Vampire novels you've read. Sexist, how so? And NOM. You have some serious issues. *Sigh* Bella loves him, and it's a made up story bud, so does it matter? How many books have you read Dream? Obviously not including Twilight and it's other equally crappy sequels. Magazines don't count either. I have read many others, thankyou. I don't read magazines nub. -.-

What would you name your first child?
What is wrong with you guys and names. D:

Lol, NOM, you never lay off, d'ya? You pick out the worst parts, Bella doesn't see a fault in him, asides from not trusting the werewolves.

No-o, you're right. My internal MR storyline has screwed itself up for some reason. D: His 5th book is going to be released on March 16th, 2009, apparently. Score! He IS making a new one! *Dances* I really like Max and Fang. D: Sad, i know. But still. Lol and to the other posts, I don't think you could ever get an Edward Cullen exactly.. You could get Boys with some of his qualities or nature, but not all of it. Ah well.

Twilight.
I read a free preview on his site a while ago, sounded fairly cliched, but hell, cliched can be good sometime. Mm, it looks a bit odd, but i still want to try, i liked the way he wrote. And Justin, yay you. I haven't seen teh movie yet, but my friend said she found the movie much better than the book.

"Yeah, up until that Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports one, I'm guessing he's written another I haven't gotten my hands on yet, though. Got a bit preachy towards the end with the whole Global Warming thing, though. Would've been more readable (Without /ptf'ing) if he used a tiny bit of subtlety." Oh yep, i just read all of them recently. Read Daniel-X? Also by Patterson, it's "meant" to be good. I'mmah get it out sometime. Same here, i did get a bit iffy about it towards the end. I mean, i'm for it all and whatnot, but it was kind of a bit much to include. I agree with the needing to make it a tad more subtle.

There is a difference between an enjoyable book and a good book. I think I've already explained it. Twilight was enjoyable to read, but if you actually try to break it down critically, you can be disappointed. Doesn't take away from enjoying it, but it makes it harder to take the book seriously. Okay okay, I'm starting to get it now. Kind of true i guess, i still think Twilight's written fairly well, it's definitely not written terrible, that's for sure. Yet very enjoyable.

Do you like to read?
I've never thought about downloading books before... I know! I spent all this time downloading movies and TV shows, then I realised books were being torrented too. I tried to read Brave New World on my computer, stopped at the sixth page. I can't stand it. :| I don't think you got far enough to really have a good opinion on it. The starting chapters drag a bit, but it does pick up around the time "The Savage" is really introduced, albeit he is probably more civilised by my standards. Anyway, I'd reccomend Catcher in the Rye Harry Potter series His Dark Materials series LOTR Brave New World (assuming you can get past the first chapter at least) Cal Alex Rider series Thats all I can think of for now. His Dark materials is very good, i agree. =D> Northern lights and whatnot, eh?

Snow & Snow Days
Same here (Florida). But I do have to say, there are mornings where it's freezing out. Some people say it is because there is so much humidity in the air that it makes it feel colder than it actually is. Oosh, Florida. Good weather mostly? I hate the cold. And the wet.. I get in bad moods and it's all ick. More of the sun and beach type of girl i guess.

So you think the books are "pretty good," but they still "fail?" *senses a love/hate relationship* Don't point out the hypocrisy of my posts. that's mean. I just really don't like how popular it is. and the stupid little fangirls at my school really make me mad. So you think the books are good, but you don't like them just of the fan girls? That's just pathetic in my view. I don't like the fan girls either, but that's because they're idiots and think the book was the best book ever, when it really isn't good at all. It is a good read, but not a good book. Good read but not a good book? D: Damn i get so confused. I guess that's probably the best I'm going to get from you though. It isn't the best book or series ever, no - But it's just really addictive and (I find) it is a good story, but mind you I've never read any other vampire-related things before so i didn't think it was cliche or anything. And amybob, shuddup. -.- We have our obsessions. Mine's passed a tad, yay. I think I'm moving onto another character.. Fang. >:] ... Fang, Fang, Fang. Is that the guy from those James Patterson books? Or some type of dog? I'll go with the former, seeing your signature quote. Thought I'd heard it somewhere before. Chyeah, That's him. : I quite like the character tbh. Have you read them, or just head of them?
