Rendering Video in Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.0
I think this is the right topic to post this in, if not could a mod please move it. I am making a PK video in sony vegas movie studio 9.0 and when I render it then watch the finished video, the quality is a lot worse than the original clips and the preview video in the program its self. I was wondering if there was some settings I should change in sony vegas and if saving it in a certain format would improve quality? I also wan't to upload it to YouTube, so is there any format/settings I should use in particular for this? Thanks in advance!

Runescapes simple UI
It could be over done. Imagine hybriding: F1 switches between tank+mage top, f2 switches legs, f3 switches shield, f4 switches weapon, f5 casts ice barrage, f6 equips dds, f7 activates spec, f8 switches prayers..it'd be pretty OP. [/hide] How is it OP when everyone has the same opportunity? because it removes all skill from hybriding/pking. If all the skill in hybriding and pking is from being able to fiddle with the tedious menus quick enough, then something is seriously wrong. Maybe that needs to be addressed, rather than simply denying us a user friendly UI. The fact is that pking/hybriding skill is determined by being able to fiddle with the tedious menus quick enough . And it's similar with skills, difficulty is generally determined by how much clicking that skill requires. This is how Runescape works and to change that would require some major, complicated changes to the entire game (not to mention it would change the game so much, a lot of people would be upset). It seems a bit much all in order to introduce a user friendly UI, at least to me.

Range Tank Help
HI, I'm working on making a range pker with these stats: 75 combat 81 range 72 constitution 50 defence 44 prayer 61 mage (I might get 70 or 82 and get ancients, if not for mage defence) I have about 2mil on the account now and can cannon dragons for about 400-600k/hr. I also have the basic quests done(dragon slayer, fremmy trials, animal magnetism, priest in peril). The question is, should I keep 50 defence, or should I get it up to 60/70, and If you think I should get more defence, should I do it now, or should I wait till a higher range level? The reason I ask is because at a combat level of mid-high 60's I could tank almost everyone (50 def, 70ish range), but now I'm fighting people with 95+ range/str and I don't tank them very well. Basically I want to know if I would be better off getting more KO power (train range) or defence. P.S. I've been training at ogres, banshees, and green drags and it gets boring. Any advice on where to train with my stats would be awesome.

Crap about this damn banner flag
I agree, Some people get so wrapped up in this "OMG RWT!@!@!@!" crap that they forget to put things into perspective. The banner is about as useful as a holiday item which will be popular for a week or two, then everyone puts them away. It gives no real advantage in-game. As for the second point you made, even if your overseas you can purchase a ticket and get your banner, and not go to the festival. So regardless of where you live it costs the same amount. This whole thing is just a flash in the pan, in a month people will have forgotten about the whole thing.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Just to all of those who are saying "OMG I CANT GO BECAUSE I CANT AFFORD THE TRAVEL EXPENSES", I'm pretty sure you get the code for the item when you purchase the ticket, you dont have to show up. so really it only costs the price of the ticket which I assume isn't very much. At least thats what the description in the KB implies.

Tip.it Times 26 April 2010
I actually did mention the GE briefly. Someone, not necessarily you, is providing for those materials. The tokens bit I didn't want to mention because the main focus was on the skill itself, not the rewards reaped from it. Skills depending on the other skills has been around for ages. That was the point I was trying to get across. First off I would like to thank you for your quick reply. Although dependent skills have been around for ever, dungeoneering took it one step further by including every skill in game. You did mention the G.E. and said that things don't magically appear and someone else has to train the skill to get the supplies, however you don't need to train the skill yourself. Dungeoneering does not allow you to buy supplies from the G.E. as a substitute to a low level in a skill so you must train the skill yourself or rely on another person directly (I don't consider the G.E. depending on another person because you don't interact with another person, and its fairly reliable). In all other dependent skills you can train only one of the two with no penalty to efficiency, In dungeoneering not training all of the dependent skills reduces your efficiency by a lot. This reliance on other skills or other players is far more apparent in dungeoneering than any other skill and makes me think of it as more of a mini-game than a skill. I think that people see how different, yet similar dungeoneering is to all the other skills and mini-games in runescape already, that it makes it hard to place it in one category when it has aspects from almost every part of runescape. Hell, it even has a quest aspect with all the journals you collect as you advance through the dungeon. Thats why I feel that dungeoneering isn't a skill or a mini-game, but is in a class of its own.

The thing that the author got wrong, in my opinion, is that for all of the other skills he mentioned, you can train them without training the skill's that go along with it. All of the materials to train the skills he mentioned (fletch, smith) can be purchased through the G.E. and someone else can train the gathering skill (woodcut, mining). Also, these skills are dependent on only a one or two skills where as dung. is dependent on every single skill. The author also didn't mention the tokens aspect of the skill which gives it that mini-game feel.

A new maximum level?
Seeing as this is a PVP problem and PVPers represent a small fraction of RS playerbase, players like you quitting would not have a great impact to the game. I agree this would screw up PVP, but since I choose not to PVP, I wouldn't mind very much. The example I gave is mostly a PVP problem, but it affects more aspects of the game that I didn't talk about. In PVM all bosses will become much easier and prices of things like godswords, spirit shields, bandos, arma, etc... will all drop. So this is more than a PVP problem, its a combat problem in general. And last I checked combat affects a lot more than a fraction of the RS playerbase. The only thing making a 120 level cap would do for combat is cause problems.

A new maximum level?
The problem with this is that you can still read the original book without ever needing to interact with the new one because they are two separate things. In runescape you will be forced to interact with people who have level 120 skills. I would not like this change unless they split the game up and you could chose to stick with runescape pre-120 level cap, or go with rs3 with the new 120 level cap. kinda like runescape and runescape classic I can guarantee to you that I will quit if they raise the level cap, after being banned for protesting of course. However, I feel like this would be much too complicated for them to implement anyway. Just using combat as an example: Because prayers are based on %, raising the constitution cap to 120 along with the other combat skills would mean 1 hitting people would be easier. Using piety, and assuming that the amount the super strength potion boosts stays the same (+19), 99 strength is boosted to 145, but 120 strength is boosted to 170. That is a strength increase of 25, while constitution gets an increase of 20. Its like adding 5 extra strength levels with no constitution levels to soak up damage. This doesn't even take into account % boosts give by weapon specials (ags), using turmoil ( with an opponent of 120 strength? yeah right), or that a super strength would probably boost +20 or 21. All this makes an existing problem much worse, and makes Jagex's job of adding life point increasing Armour much more difficult.

New Skill: 31st May 2010?
Well if Jagex was going to post a set release date this would be the best way for them to do it. If they do get it out on time then they congratulate everyone who figured out their clues, and if they don't then then they just play it off as if there was no clue about the release date and life goes on like normal. So it is plausible that this is a clue about the release date.

Hi my name is soldin 911 and I want to post my two newest videos here along with a few pictures of some good loot and KO's and some kills in old BH. I appreciate any comments, advice, criticism, etc. You can see all of my stats in my signature. High-Alch?
I'm not looking to profit, I just want to know what to alch so I lose the least per alch if I buy everything. I also know stunning w/ SC armour is much faster, but I like that you can just spam click alch.

High-Alch?
I am making a new mage/ranger account and will soon be 55 mage. I am a member and wanted to know what I should high-alch. The last time I did any alching was before the g/e came out and everyone alched yew/mage longs. I want to know if that is the most cost efficient method today. I know that with summoning pouches and whatnot there are a lot more options available and I want to be sure I'm not wasting money. Thanks

70+ Pker Stats
You said you wanted to make the account into a pker, right? This doesn't mean you need perfect stats with every quest done. I feel that you build on the account you have now because by the time you get similar stats without the def and 4mil on a new account you could have that account pk ready. I also feel that a small mistake like 20 def can be compensated for with high strength. If I were you I would: keep 20 def keep 60 attack 70 range (black d chaps for mage def) 80+ str, 90+ would be better 31-34 prayer train mage for mage def if you want This is assuming that you have the basic quests for a pker. Also you can change the account to a rune pure depending on what quests you have done so far. P.S. although people say to start over because your 46 def not 45, 2 def instead of 1, etc. Just ask yourself if your on the account to become a perfect maxed pure, or to have fun pking.

Should i max out?
I would suggest pking with your stats now until you get bored and then max out. Also by maxing out, you will be fighting people a lot more people with turmoil/ss and it makes it much harder if you don't have it as well. So I would suggest getting/ having the money for 95 prayer before maxing out. GL

How can i pk with my main?
Well with your stats now I would range tank with black d and torags legs/helm. Your stats are decent for melee pking, however, I would strongly advise getting vengeance first. Piety is also a must have. I disagree with the first poster and would pk with a godsword (bgs or ags) for gloves use barrows, for an amulet use a glory, and a neit instead of a zerker. I would also put 94 mage #1 on the list for skills to get, way higher than 99 def. Hope I helped

Saradomin godswords uses for slayer
Not only is math wrong in this, and many things overlooked, but it fails to realize that sgs isn't about saving food and prayer because of costs, but because it makes a trip last longer. If that extra HP and prayer you get from sgs allows you to kill 20 dragons before banking and claws allow you to get 15 kills, you have to count all the extra time you spend banking. The time it takes to bank far outweighs the extra time that claws save (did you count that dragon claws isn't just an extra 625 damage because you take a combat turn using special?) On Topic: I feel that SGS isn't needed anymore because how many ways there are to heal w/o food. Generally using a combination of one or two of those methods keeps you healed on most slayer tasks. SGS is an option, but is way more expensive for little to no advantage over other healing methods. I see SGS as a status symbol of wealth, showing that you have mil's to spend on something you use for a special. Also you forgot to mention guthans. Although its ignored by high level slayer for more efficient options, It still deserves a spot on your list. Its great for when your taking a lot of damage where other methods can't keep up (tanking and DK's anyone?)

Choose one...
I'd make a pure because I've already played the game as a main and its fun, but to get back to were I am now would take way more time I'd be willing to put in. And I wouldn't be satisfied until I was as good as my account now. So I'd rather be a pure and have a different runescape experience and have less of that "I was x levels higher on my old account" whenever I gain a new level. Besides you can be a pure and not restrict yourself from doing too many things nowadays. I know that there is at least one rune pure who can solo corp, and has soloed an arma hilt (can't remember his name).

Music to my ears!
No offence, but you need to get your ears checked if you think "RS music is like that". In 2005, it was like that. Now? It hasnt been like that in a long time. That doesnt sound like "your" rs music at all. <_< Thanks, for owning him so I didn't have to. Anyway, I like the RS music. I don't listen to it non-stop, but I do occasionally from time to time. Favourites: Conspiracy Pt 2, Title Fight, Wild Side, Armageddon, Venture and many more. The example I gave is an exaggeration, but I do feel that the quality of the RS sound isn't very good and takes a lot away from what would otherwise be good music. Runescape is a game a lot of people play for hours at a time and after a while you can start to hear the bad quality audio. IDK, maybe its just me.
-
Music to my ears!
Its not the song composition that put me off to RS music, but the quality of the audio. You can take a good song and make it dreadful to listen to with bad quality. Thats what RS music is like. Although its a good song, and isn't bad to listen to once or twice, Its not something you want to listen to often.

Flowers
Actually the red ones are worth it to pick up because they are used as a summoning secondary so are worth about 1-2k

constitution, prayer, and summoning
yeah, I was thinking that since constitution is like that, why not make prayer and summoning the same. Might be a little bit of OCD but I think having them all the same would be better

constitution, prayer, and summoning
It wouldn't necessarily be x10 like life points are, they could just separate it so that the skill icon in your stats tab doesn't change, only the icon on the screen does. (I feel they should have done this with constitution also, would have solved most of the problems and kept it looking like rs)
