Well, if you can afford cannoning and don't mind the cash, go ahead, this may be expensive for some. A faster, more expensive way is chinning, there are many guides for it just about everywhere, try archive of wisdom.

Anyway, the point of void is to have better attacking abilities (in both Magic, Ranged and Melee), while at the same time having low defence bonus, which means: If you're training on a monster without a safesport/ that hits high, then the defence bonus is more important, but if you're planning on fighting monsters using safespots, or monsters with low accuracy, then void will increase exp/hour, and is a good idea to have. Even if eventually you decide that the defence bonus is more important, you should still get void, as it's useful.
