New dance emotes!

The following idea is lined in the same way respawn points are. For example, our current available respawn points are Lumbridge, Camelot and Falador, you can unlock all three, but you cannot use all three at one time.

The idea is pretty much the same, you can unlock as many dance emotes as you like, but can only use one at a time.

To unlock your first emote you'd have to complete a quest, the rest are from mini quests.

[hide=The Quest]Name: Experimental dancing.

Starting point: Talk to Party Pete in Falador.

Requirements: Quests- Ernest the chicken, Romeo and Juliet, Rune mysteries.

The story:

Party Pete (or PP), said he's bored of the old-fashioned dancing style, and wants to experiment new styles, asking if you'd like to help him (surprising, isn't it?). If you decide to help him, he'll tell you to go to Veronica (the one standing outside of Draynor manor, from Ernest the Chicken quest), so she could teach you how to dance Salsa! After a short conversation, she will ask you to find her a musician to play music while she teaches you (unfortunately for you, all of the musicians around refuse to leave their spot.)

Go back to PP, and he'll say he doesn't know anyone who could possibly play music for Salsa. He will say you'll have to find for yourself some MAGICAL way to play Salsa, that was a hint for the wizard's tower.

In there, talking to wizard Traiborn will lead to a very interesting convesation about the time when he was younger, and experimented with unstable magic, which possibly got him "this thing from the future" that plays music (a tape), but, as some of you had suspected, he locked it in a chest, and he needs a special ritual to open it.

He will need some very specific items to open it:

  •
[*:36vq5p8f]3 bars of hard metal (anything better than steel, including steel (all 3 must be of the same type of metal)).

[*:36vq5p8f]2 talismans that control humans (these could be body, mind, death or nature, any combination of the 4 is okay).

[*:36vq5p8f]And something to put asleep his "creature-guard" (that would be a Cadava potion).

After getting those, he'll open his chest and give you the tape.

Talk to Veronica again with the tape in your inventory. Your character will automaticly tell her you have an instrument that plays music by itself, she will be shocked for a few seconds. When she comes back to her senses, she tells you you're also going to need a place to dance! In which case your character will have 3 options:

1.We could go to Al kharid, there's almost no one there. (she will say it's too hot in there).

2.How about the Wilderness? I doubt there's a living soul there. (She says it's too dangerous).

3.The party room! (this option will make her agree).

She will now follow your character unless you either get to the party room, or tell her to leave you alone (in this case you can always go back to Draynor manor and ask her to follow you again). Upon entering the party room, a cut scene will appear, where PP is welcoming both of you. Your character will then put the tape on the floor and start it, and then Veronica will start dancing Salsa. After a few seconds your character and PP will join her.

Quest complete <img src='http://forum.tip.it/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eusa_dance.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D/' /> .

Reward:

1.The ability to change your dance emote to Salsa.

2.The ability to unlock new dance moves.

3.Three party orbs, starting parties free of charge.

4.1 quest point.[/hide]

After completing the quest, you can start off with any mini-quests you have the required skills and completed quests for. All mini quests start at Party Pete.

Mini quests & new dance emotes

[hide=Ballet]Yep, that's right, Ballet.

Talk to Party Pete if you have completed both Death to the Dorgeshuun and Hand in the Sand.

PP will tell you to talk to Duke horaico (the Duke of Lumbridge).

When talking to the Duke, and asking him to teach you how to dance Ballet, he will say he needs a special costume for Ballet, and tell you to talk to Thessalia in Varrock (the one near the general store in Varrock, that used to give prince/princess outfits and frog masks for frog tokens).

When talking to her she will say she needs 6 soft cloths of 2 colors - black (2) and pink (4).

To obtain pink cloth, get silk, and a pink dye (from witch Betty in port Sarim), and simply use the bottle on the silk.

To obtain black cloth, Talk to Thessalia and ask her how to get it, she will provide you with scissors and tell you to get something long and black. You will need a black cape (kill a Highway man, or buy from other players/ via the Grand Exchange). Use the scissors on the cape to obtain black cloth.

When you have everything that's needed, talk to her again, and she will take the cloth away.

When talking to her again the following items will appear in your inventory (2 of each)- Black Ballet shoes, pink

Blouse and pink skirt /trousers (depending on your gender).

Going with these items to the Duke will reveal an hilarious cut scene, showing both him and your character performing a Ballet move 5 times (each). (You must talk to him with the Ballet costume on you and any other slot empty (except for ammunition and ring which does not matter)).

Mini-quest complete.

You will be rewarded with the ability to have a Ballet move as your dance emote, as well as a Ballet costume.[/hide]

[hide=Hip Hop]yup, Hip Hop, street dancing, call it whatever you like!

Talk to PP when having completed the Shield of Arrav quest.

PP will tell you to talk to Straven (if joined the Pheonix gang and have 35 Thieving) or to Katrine (if joined to the Black Arm gang).

Obviously there are 2 paths:

The Phonix gang path:

Talk to Straven, and ask him to teach you to dance Hip Hop. He will say he had never really tested your thieving skills, and as a member of the Pheonix gang, you must know atleast a little! If you agree, he will now follow your character (unless you tell him to stop following you, and then you can ask him to follow you again if you talk to him). When talking to him again (after he had started following you already), he will tell you he wants to see you steal some fur, this can either be done in Ardougne or Rellekka. Once you steal the fur, he will ask you if you'd like to teleport back to the Pheonix hideout. By choosing yes, you'll jump straight into a cut scene in the Pheonix hideout, showing Straven perforiming "waves" with his hands, and then your character following his moves (for any of you who don't know what these are, look it up in YouTube or something...).

The Black Arm gang path:

Talk to Katrine, and ask her to teach you to dance Hip Hop. She will say she needs to see your killing skills first.

Upon agreeing to show her she will follow your character, if talking to her again she'll say she wants to see you fight a white knight, and win. Go to Falador, fight a white knight, and she will talk to you and ask if you'd like to teleport to the Black Arm gang hideout, if you choose yes, you'll jump straight into a cut scene in the Black Arm hideout, showing Katrine performing "waves" with her hands, and then your character following her moves (for any of you who don't know what these are, look it up in YouTube).[/hide]

[hide=Robot moves]This 1 requires nothing but luck, and I suggest starting it as soon as you finished Experimental dancing.

If talked to PP about the robot moves, and got teleported by Evil Bob to ScapeRune, you can ask Prison Pete to teach you how to move like a robot! You can only continue this mini-quest when you get this random event!

After talking to Prison Pete (inside ScapeRune!), and getting all the keys from the animal baloons, he will ask you if you'd like him to teach you now. By choosing yes, he will start moving like a robot, and your character will try to imitate him, and will fail. Prison Pete will start laughing.

At this point you both will run out of ScapeRune, and when outside, in addition to the reguler reward you get from this random event, he will say all you need is some practice, and ask if you'd like him to follow you around.

If choosing yes, you must get some means to teleport, because for 1 whole hour, Evil Bob will pop up at you every 5 minutes, and you'd have exactly 100 seconds to teleport away (this includes all types of teleports!), in addition, Prison Pete will perform some robot moves every 2 minutes, and your character will try to imitate him again, and fail. After a whole hour (you can log out if you'd like, but you must be on for 60 full minutes), your character will imitate him and succeed.

Your reward is the robot move as your dance emote, and the ability to change your base clothes from Thessalia to look exactly like Prison Pete!

Yes that's right you can now look like this:

prison_pete.gif

Thanks to Tip.It for the picture ;) .

Few notes-

  •
[*:36vq5p8f]If Evil Bob manages to catch you, you'll have to get the random event again!

[*:36vq5p8f]Running away from Evil Bob will only make him chase you, so don't even bother.

[*:36vq5p8f]I highly suggest taking Prison Pete's suggestion, or else you'd have to get the random event again.

[*:36vq5p8f]You will not be able to get any random events that would teleport you (this includes Mime, Maze, Freaky Forester, Drill Demon, Pinball, game show, The evil twin, and the like).

[*:36vq5p8f]You cannot take Prison Pete to some places, these include mini-games, PvP worlds, and cannot complete any quests that invlove cutscenes, or go to places that prevent you from teleporting (For example, in the Myths of the White lands quest, you cannot teleport there, unless you've reached the part in the quest that allows teleporting.

[*:36vq5p8f]Anything that involve going from 1 place to another is counted as a teleport, this includes boarding ships, charter ships, all teleports in all three spell books, all Jewelry teleports and the like.

[*:36vq5p8f]SPECIAL NOTE: Your character can still attempt to perform the emote when you're running, skilling, or checking the different interface screens (reports, banks, Smithing etc), and trying to perform it does not stop your character from what it's doing (including teleports!).

[/hide]

[hide=Belly dancing!]That's right! Belly dancing!

Requirements: Swept away and Demon Slayer.

After talking to PP, talk to the Gypsy in Varrock, and ask her to teach you how to Belly dance. And, once again, you'll have to get a costume.

This time, there's a big difference between male characters and female characters:

Males:

Males will also need to complete Prince Ali Rescue.

Go talk to Leela, and ask if she could give you some clothes for male Belly dancing, she will say all she needs is 600gp for the tailor, and you can pick the clothes from her father (Osman), pay her the money, and go to Al Kharid.

Talk to Osman to get your outfit that includes a Jacket and trousers and a hat looks something like this:

sultan-costume.jpg

After that, go talk to the Gypsy, for another cut scene, similar to ther others, where she performs Belly dancing, and your character imitates.

Females:

Females need 30 GP, a hammer, a chisel 2 red dyes a tiara, and 35 Crafting. The Gypsy will tell you to talk to Thessalia, one again. Thessalia will say she needs 2 pieces of red silk, and 30 coins to attach to it, when you give it to her, she will give you 2 pieces of costume. Going with it to the Gypsy will reveal that you also need some sort of head brace, so use the chisel on the tiara, when a hammer is in your inventory to get it.

looks something like this:

fa75f367.jpg

(Sorry I couldn't get 1 with the tiara on).

After that, go talk to the Gypsy, for another cut scene, similar to ther others, where she performs Belly dancing, and your character imitates.

Reward: Belly dancing costume and emote.[/hide]

[hide=Country dancing! hee ha!]Requirements: 27 Hunter, and the quest Eagles' peak, as well as a rope.

If you talk to PP with the requirements, and go to Ardougne, you will notice there's no unicorn in the Ardougne zoo! By talking to Larry you can choose to help him.

The unicorn can be found in any of the following locations (varies):

1.South of the Fishing guild.

2.South-West of legends' guild.

3.South of the zoo itself (North of the monastry).

When you find the unicorn, you can use a rope on it to try to catch it (like a lasso), simply right click on it and click 'catch' with a rope in your inventory.

Once caught, you will RIDE the unicorn all the way to Larry (and be 50% faster than running with no energy drain!), when you talk to him, you'll return back to normal, and Larry will provide you with a Cowboy hat, boots, top, and jeans, and once again, a cut scene where Larry teaches your character how to dance country.

The costume looks like this (without the guns):

cowboy.jpg

Reward: Cowboy costume, the ability to change your dance emote to coutnry dance and:

(this is debateable, as not all of you will agree- the ability to lasso unicorns with ropes, and ride on them for 20 whole minutes, without any energy drain, and 50% faster than running.

Please note that you cannot ride the unicorn in all mini-games, and can only ride it on ground level (which means you can't go underground with it, or climb any ladders), also, the unicorn cannot be taken in-doors, which includes all banks, castles, stores, any houses, POHs and anything else, although you CAN tie your unicorn to any trees, poles, doors and the like, and go inside (your 20 minutes will still drain when your unicorn is tied).[/hide]

[hide=Latin dancing]Talk to PP, and he will send female characters to talk to Diango and male characters to talk to miss Schism in Draynor village market.

Talk to Diango/ miss Schism, and he/she will tell you you need either princess or prince outfit (depending on your gender)(from the frog kissing random event).

females will also need:

2 red dyes.

males will also need:

2 swamp tars.

Talking with Diango/miss Schism, with all of the needed items, will color your prince/princess outfit black/red (prince- black, princess- red).

Wear your outfit, and Diango will dance with female characters, while Miss Schism will dance with male characters.

Reward- Latin dance suit and the ability to change your dance emote to Latin dance.

Please note: The Latin dance emote can only be performed if the opposite gender is standing in front of you (he/she doesn't have to have the emote to perform it with you), and have Accept aid on. Trying to perform the emote without a partner will result in the Salsa dance emote.[/hide]

[hide=Disco!]Requirements: 45 Crafting, 20 Herblore and must have completed the Fremennik Trials and Gertrude's Cat (and obviously Druidic Ritual).

If you talk to PP with the requirements and absolutly nothing in your head, top, bottoms, amulet, gloves, shield and cape slots, you will be given the option to choose "So are there any other dance styles?". PP will say that the other day a weird adventurer started dancing funny in the Party room, and when he asked him what he's dancing, he said "Well, I'm rocking Disco out! Go Afro!", he also said he could try to teach you how to dance Disco, but you will need an outfit for it, including hair, Jacket, trousers, necklace, and shoes. He will not say how you can get that outfit, but here's how you do it:

The hair:

Go to the Hairdresser's salon (in Falador), and you will automaticly have the option to say you want your hair afro-shaped. He will say all he needs is some Shampoo, your character will ask what Shampoo is, and the Hairdresser will say all you need is 5 Woad leaves, and water, mixed together. To get that, use the 5 Woad leaves on a pestle and mortar while having a vial of water in your inventory. The vial will then turn dark blue, and will be called bottle of Shampoo.

Go with your bottle of shampoo to the hairdresser, and you will have your hair turned to afro!

The costume and necklace:

Talk to Thessalia, and tell her you need Disco-like looks. She will say she'd like to help out, but she needs someone to run an errand for her, and obviously you're going to offer your service. She will give you a skirt and a shirt to deliver to Gertrude (you must have atleast 2 inventory spaces available). Go west to Gertrude's house, and give her the clothes, she will thank you. Upon coming to meet Thessalia again, she will say she can help you now. You'll tell her again, that you need Disco-like looks, and she will start laughing. If you ask her what's funny, she'll say a young adventurer just asked her the same thing the other day, and she knows exactly what you mean. She will also give you a scroll for Yrsa in Rellekka, so that Yrsa could understand what shoes you need, and will also explain how to get the necklace (you must use a needle on 1 coin while having a hammer in your ineventory, and use a ball of wool on it).

She will dress you with a white Jacket, and white trousers, and send you on your way.

The shoes:

go to Yrsa in Rellekka, with the scroll Thessalia gave you in your inventory, along with 500gp, and Yrsa will change your shoes to fit.

The whole costume should look like this:

disco-stu.gif

(Sorry, I just HAD to use a Simpsons' one  ).

Now talk to PP wearing nothing but your necklace (and your base outfit as Disco), and a cut scene will appear where PP teaches you to dance Disco!

rewards:

1.The ability to have Disco as your dance emote.

2.The ability to make coin necklaces (gives 3 exp, without stringing, which is awesome for 1 coin cost!).

3.The ability to make shampoos, used to make any haircut you'd like! (But not change the color).

4.The new afro styled hair.

5.The new Disco shoes.

6.The new Disco Jacket and trousers.

The dance I'm thinking of looks close to

, check out seconds 37-44.

Sorry for the bad quality, and the hilarious, horrible dancers   , best I could find, and looks close to what I had imagined (although not exactly), enjoy the good laugh :XD:.[/hide]

[hide=Lastly, why I thought of this]Danceemote2.gif

I don't know anyone who dances like this, do you?[/hide]

All costumes can be stored in the costume room in your POH.

[hide=RSOF]Well, since the forums are open for free players now, I've added this to the RSOF.

Quick find code: 80-81-429-58668872.[/hide]

NOTE- You can get back to the normal dance emote by asking Party Pete about the old fashioned dance style.

That's it for now, I might add Flamenco and Capoeira later, and am willing to add any suggestions you might have.

Also, please note this is still work in progress, all criticizm is highly appriciated, and please no flaming.

AND PLEASE DO NOT POST IF YOU DIDN'T READ IT ALL!

I mean, who the hell dances like this?![/hide]

Me, I dance like that. You got a problem with it?

The emote is meant to be silly... No point of having a new one... I prefer the "Dinosaur Dance"

Ofcours there's no "point" in having a new 1, there's also no point in having the current 1.

The bottom line, it's meant for fun, and is completely avoidable if you don't want any dance moves, and besides, even if you decide to complete the quest, and the mini quests, you can always have your reguler dance emote back whenever you like.

And about the reason, it was a joke you know...
