  1. My last Mage task I got 5 pairs of Dragon Boots in a span of 30 kills. Of course I have gone over 600 kills in a row without boots. I got a KBD head on my second kill.
  2. When training a skill is strictly faster, it reduces the feeling of accomplishment at the end, which is the whole point of training skills. Seriously? I would GUESS that most people like to train in the most efficient fashion when possible. Most people don't continue to burn regular logs for FM exp. The don't fish shrimp for fishing exp. They don't fight Goblins for melee exp. Etc.... You ge the picture. Almost everyone uses a more "advanced" method of training whenever possible. The bonus exp weekend is no different. (Well, besides the fact that it only occured during a fixed time period. I hate it for those people who could not participate during that weekend. But that is how things work in the real world. )
  3. Loved the bonus xp weekend (btw, it was "bonus" xp....not "double"), hope they have another. I only have 1 99 skill (range). Does not bother me in the least that people could chin to 99 during the bonus xp weekend and get 99 much cheaper than I did. That is part of the game. No big deal. Did the weekend devalue my only 99? Not to me it didn't. I didn't get 99 range to "show off" or as a "status symbol". I got it to help me while I play RS. If you really use 99s as "status symbols", then RS is WAY too important in your life. I think some people lose sight of the fact that RS is a GAME. Play it. Enjoy it. Have fun. If you worry about "status symbols" and "rank", you need a new hobby.
  4. I love Dungeoneering, but sadly, it is not a "true" skill. It is an incredible, in-depth, maxi-game (as opposed to "mini").
  5. I BELIEVE that is just an example of what to do when you have to stop training.
  6. @Myweponsgood Great observation! So many people are complaining, and they have only played a few hours. I hope people realize that they do NOT have to train the skill.
  7. Did you consider the Enchanted Excaliber for healing? It heals 200 lps every 5 minutes and provides a boost to your defence. The increased defence SHOULD lead to you taking less damage and therefor saving $ on food. Best of all........it is FREE. (Well, you have to do a diary to get it.)
  8. Would be the perfect time to release the new skill. Everyone is expecting a prank.
  9. It was an interesting read, but really only JAGEX knows when the skill will be released. BTW, wasn't the quote from JAGEX about the new skill release date something along the lines of: "the skill will be released closer to the middle of the year than closer to the end of the year"? Not a direct quote, but wasn't it something similar? If so, wouldn't March be closer to the middle of the year than to the end of the year?
  10. It encourages players yes, does it encourage membership? Not directly no. Sure it does. JAGEX is trying to encourage the new, F2p players to play the game longer. The longer they play, the better chance there is of them becoming members. By adding something to F2P your promoting the F2P side not the P2P side. Again, not a bad thing. More F2P players will lead to more P2P players. If not, why would JAGEX even have a F2P option? But less high end content = less long term players. Less long term players = less money. This is obviously correct. But, it does not mean we do not need low-level content and low-level updates. It is equally correct that less new F2P players = fewer P2P players = less revenue for JAGEX = a decline in the quality of Runescape. More entry level players = more room for bots So the alternative is fewer entry level players? Don't think so. More raw materials = higher costs of high end gear Please explain how?
  11. This is obviously a quest designed to keep brand new players playing Runescape. Anything that encourages MORE people to play (and to purchase membership) is good for ALL of us. More people buying membership = more money for JAGEX to use to improve the game. More "entry level" players = more resources gathered (probably their best way of making money and raising levels) for the higher levels to buy. Everyone wins! Is absolutely silly for people to complain about the release of a new, entry-level, f2p quest. They get those so often...........right?
  12. The Hit Points update SEEMS to be the first step in a REAL rebalance of the combat triangle. Before the update, let's say a weapon could deal either 17 or 18 damage. After the update, that same weapon could deal 170, 171, 172, 173, 174, 175, 176, 177, 178, 179, or 180 damage. This will allow the damage dealt by all weapons, spells, & bolts/arrows to be adjusted and bring the combat triangle into more of a balanced state.
  13. Looking back, practicing prayer switching would have been a great idea. I get to Jad with 10 super restores, 4 Sara brews, and a 4-dose range pot. Brew, restore, pot up, turn on range prayer & eagle eye, and wait for Jad's first attack. First attack happens, I just stand there. Second attack = me still standing there. At this point I realize that I did not turn on auto retaliate. Turn it on and run to the middle of the room where I find Jad. I'm prayer switching like a mad man. A mad man with no plan. After about 10 seconds I'm dead as Jad hits a 66 on me. Still don't know if I got ANY prayer switching right or if I even did any damage on the big fellow. It would have been a great idea if I had my screen set to full size. I'm assuming this would have allowed me to recognize Jad's attacks much sooner. A quick question: This guide shows two "safe" spots on the western side of the cave. It says these spots are "safe" spots from the range attack of the 90s and the mage attacks of the 360s. These spots never worked that way for me. What is the secret?
  14. Nevermind. Went ahead and calculated the construction costs.
  15. Is there a link to the prices Ghrim pays for flatpacks, or do I need to calculate the costs myself? (He pays 10% of the construction costs....right?)
  16. My first time in the GWD. No idea as to really what to expect. Took all my stuff to range aviansies. Got my kill count to 40 (because I thought I had to have 40 kills before I entered the Eyrie). Used the grapple to get to the Eyrie and killed some more Aviansies. I was praying range and was out of prayer pots so I thought I would take a peek in the boss room before teleporting out. You see, I also thought that I would not be attacked if I did not attack first. (This was many moons ago.) Entered the boss room and .......BAM! What the heck?! BAM! BAM! Somehow managed to teleport out with 2 hitpoints. BTW, I have not been back to the boss room (or any boss room for that matter) since. First post.
