You do realize that it would possibly be effective to beat them up a bit before they attack? (using ambushes with a [cabbage] tonne of elite skimirshers as well as hit and run attacks at night)

I'm sending out groups of around 150 myrmidons (my special unit) with orders to harass and generally cause confusion to the mongol hordes (say three groups doing hit and run attacks for a month.... it's gonna be rather painful)

So.... any chance you could tell me how much a galley with a catapult and two ballistae on it costs? (note this could be used for most any ship [but I cannot remember the damm names])

(Think about it the deadliest thing about the mongols is the fact that they are highly maneuverable and can put an arrow from you at the same time) If we remove maneuverability from the equation (and get them while they are sleeping) it may work well (a cavalry and swordsman/archer attack might actually work)

Judging by the time period involved (at least I think that is the case) it seems likely for the mongols to be the culprits. EDIT: Ross the bubonic plague is also refered to as the black death or the black plague

(Dusty I know that) Bah scrap the plague ridden corpses from the battle plans retech. Substitute them with the glorious flaming ball of pitch :P EDIT: Ross the black death was spread by the mongol hordes throwing plague ridden bodies over city walls in sieges (well occasionally they used only the heads but I digress)
