The vibration would only be used for very short intervals (in strikes against armored foes in tandem with the usual electric shock) Um, if it breaks metal it breaks the sword... And why would that not shock you? High(ish) speed vibrations would simply allow it to cut slightly better (and the magic running through the sword would increase it's durability). My characters base skills in lightning magic (that he trained a bit) were weak electric shocks and an immunity towards electrical damage (well a very high resistance that will grow larger as he becomes more skilled)

That is assuming that I do not sap the energy from the sword :P

I aint exactly dropping people with lightning bolts. It is reasonable to assume that they way I am using it my magic will not be easy to detect.
  4. Retech could you remember that the strike I had planned was supposed to happen very very early?

Well the way I intend to use it is for channeling a stunning (or killing) shock through the blade of a sword and having highspeed vibrations to increase cutting power. So it should not be all to hard to hide if just used like that.

Icu that is if they can sense the magic... I don't intend to be highly open with the use of lightning magic (more of the use for melee combat). Though if there are no survivors...

Heh might as well post this: Name: Enarir Soriel Weapon: Koriagla (the name that he calls his sword) Koriagla is a saber that allows Enarir to access rudimentary lightning magic; it allows him to run a current through the blade to stun (or at later skill levels even kill) with a simple tap as well as allowing him to cause the swords blade to vibrate (thus making it easier to cut through different materials) as well as greater things at higher skill levels. Race: Human RP item: Koriagla Backstory: Enarir Soriel started life as the son of a lord. This meant that he had many doors opened to him that the lower folk could only dream of (quoting his father). The chief among said doors was the fact that he could get an education (which was rare where he came from). In short many a gold coin was paid to a tutor to come out and teach the young son of a lord. Enarir was not the most willing pupil to say the least and time and time again the tutors left in disgust stating "That boy is more beast than man" to the angry protests of the lord. The lord being relatively arrogant chalked it up as the fault of his tutors as "No son of mine could be as stupid as they say you are!". This went on until Enarir was roughly ten years old. At that time in his life he managed to supremely irritate a powerful enchanter who decided as a cruel joke to give him exactly what the boy mocked in said conjurer. In short after a bit of a ritual the enchanter awakened the magical talent in Enarir. The boy was thoroughly delighted with his new tricks (which included a powerful shock similar to static electricity and the ability to withstand a large electrical current. This all changed when his father found out. Quite frankly the lord hated magic with a passion. After many punishments and a small amount of exorcisms (because why the [bleep] not?) it appeared that the magical talent was there to stay and the lord kicked his only son out of the manor. At this point the enchanter took pity upon him and took him in as his apprentice. After a few years of training Enarir had progressed quite a bit and as a present the enchanter gave him Koriagla as a focus for his power (it was also rather heavily enchanted). Around that time the lord was going through a rather difficult divorce (his wife did not particularly like the fact that he kicked their only child onto the street) and did what any lord would do; killed magical practitioners in the area. Enarir and his master did what any sane person would do; got the [bleep] out of the area. Currently they are separated and enarir is a wee bit troubled after getting drunk and waking up on the coast line. Description: Blond with blue eyes and a athletic body, wears linen clothing with a sword belt, controlled by someone with limited imagination currently.

Just remember necrophiliacs [bleep]ing love zombies!
  10. Not much as I have not been in action that much currently. I would direct you to the top of the page though for my plan on how to rip the mongols a new one (and hopefully take over hungary)
  11. After my next battle report, it starts. I had to receive defences from Someone first. Oh, ok. Final million dollars in my treasury goes into infrastructure. Or you know you could give some of it to me so I could bring more crossbowmen in to fight the mongols :P On a different note how well do people think my use of balls of flaming pitch will work?
  12. Grim_ replied to Icuownage's topic in Falador Tavern
I would be very interested to try this.
  13. The ballista are not meant to really kill the cavalry so to speak. The long bolts are meant to stick up in a way that it forces the enemies to move through the hail of crossbow bolts at a slower rate.
  14. Essentially what I am trying to do (right now) is to put the mongols in the city of Budapest under siege. I am also trying to kill any commanding officers using what myrmidons are inside the city to cause some dissarray (and power struggles) at which point if the gates were open my invading army would be sighted. The second the troops saw mongols 1,200 crossbow-men 1,500 archers, 20 trebuchets (firing balls of flaming pitch) and 50 ballista (firing long bolts that would hopefully disrupt cavalry) fire at once with another 1,2000 crossbowmen firing again and the siege engines keeping up a constant barrage. Hopefully with the commanding officers dead the mongol hordes would try to break out (especially with the sight of an enemy outside the gates) at which point they would be slaughtered until they close the gates.
  15. This might actually put me in a decent position if I can hit the capitol of hungary before the mongols leave...
  16. At least I'm not st... enough to not notice that. I can be subtle and cunning enough... when it's neccessary. For example I almost helped Scandinavia against Rocco, but they stopped answering. If you are not in fact st... then why did you tell us that?
  17. It would probably be wrecked by a flash flood (also if you did not specify retech probably did not put your cave(ish) hidey-hole in the rain shadow of the atlas mountains.
  18. Devils fruit? :twss:
  19. Aaaand thank you retech!
  20. Just waiting on retech to get on for some bleeding battle reports.
  21. This goes quite well with your sig...
  22. I actually have two notes on dungeoneering to ross (well questions) Exactly how powerful was the demon that landed upon my portable altar? (and why did that happen?) as well as exactly how did the mechanic for hellfire work?
  23. Battle report retech?
  24. Since when were Italian monarchs sane?
  25. Nex what do you think 200 horsemen would do against a larger army? (Note the troops I am using are made for ambush/hit and run)
