  1. Nex items are shared and there good, them being shared is what makes them flippable. also finding your own things can be a massive downfall if not careful or just unlucky. I wouldn't classify Nex items as good at all. Rule of thumb, if an item has a price check FC it's useless.
  2. I'm sorry, but to this question there's only one possible reply: Anything that is good won't be shared, and what is shared is common sense. The best advice I can give you is find a niche item or your own corner in the market, and go from there.
  3. Or if you mean those Tier 1 / Tier 2 / Tier 3 with the Quartermaster's (or whatever function he may adequately perform) reward interface, those are unlocked by Week 4 and Week 7 of the event, respectively.
  4. Read the book you get from completing the emissary jobs :P o Yeah, I only read a few pages on Zaros and then got a bit bored ):
  5. It's interesting to note Moia is a general for Zamorak now... Seems like she didn't die after all. Maybe it *was* Bilrach, who knows.
  6. Definitely, yeah, but I think his question pertained to Nex alone. In the long run, DG shields are worthwhile, at least until we get t90 ones or tradeable t80s. Edit; Unless he's tanking, yeah, forgot to mention that - woops! I'd heartily advise against tanking Nex when learning, though :P
  7. @Crossword Didn't know the Kalphite one, lol. Pretty obvious once I checked it xD
  8. 1) One hit KO attacks? No, not really. There is, however, a plethora of special attacks that she throws at you that can pile up rather fast. For Smoke phase, you'd want to watch out for the "There is...NO ESCAPE!" special, in which she cross cleaves the middle section (the Zaros symbol), from one side to the other. Tanks usually lure her away from the middle, though, so this shouldn't be a problem. Still in this phase, you will deal with a special, infectious cough. Pretty minor stuff nowadays, but warding off your teammates makes it go away. In the Shadow phase, meleers have it rough. They can't attack her more than (approximately) 2-3 times before being dealt dart-speed 500s+ unblockable and typeless damage. Usually, meleers hit her 2-3 times, walk away 2-3 squares, and repeat. The big thing here is her "Fear the shadow!" special, in which she summons a black spot underneath players' feet. You have approximately 3 seconds to step away, or you will be dealt moderate damage (1200+, and I *think* I've been hit over 3k once, not really sure!). Be aware that other players' shadow dots can also afflict you, so be twice as cautious. Blood phase-wise, there aren't any major damage-dealing specials. There's the blood sacrifice, but it doesn't hit for much, although it does heal Nex a spectacular 10 or 20k LPs, and halves your current Prayer points. Finally, during the Ice phase, you'll be confronted with Nex's most dangerous one hit offs. "Die now, in a prison of ice!" can hit over 8k LPs, and "Contain this!" can seriously wound the hardiest warrior. Prisons are usually tanked by the Tank (duh), while meleers should proceed with extra bits of caution during the containment special (read: run away for a few squares seconds Her icicles travel a fair number of squares). Zaros phase has no particular special attacks. Also, make note these are just her damaging specials, it is no way a 'complete' Nex guide, not even a survival book. Just basic info you could easily find in the Wiki. As for RSOF teams, I have absolutely no idea. Never dealt with such a thing; I keep my random social encounters at foot's length after Dungeoneering. 2) *Usually*, and do make note this is from my experience before Assbows and Seismic, Nex teams prefer meleers. Yes, a Range switch is sometimes used during Zaros, but that's about it. Shields are definitely not needed, except maybe for a solo, and only during Zaros. You wouldn't need anything from DG to Nex right now, but you would want Drygores. 3) Yes. No numbers, been a long time since I got 99 Summoning, but the loss is pretty big. I don't enjoy spending ages running charms, though, and paying the few extra mils I could make back after seemed like a fair trade off. It's probably efficient, too, since everyone seems to do it, but sadly, I can't crunch the numbers for you, and say that it's better gp/xp for time spent. 4) Noone would recommend Ivy for an efficient Woodcutting method, lol. Arctic Pines are borderline 100k xp/h, I believe, passible of enhancement with some boosts (saw Hedgehog claiming around 6-8k bonus xp/h with WCing aura based on Mining numbers. Beavers also help, as does Lumberjack clothing. Adze, too. I believe C2 is somewhat superior, but you'd need a setup like Suomi's - Paying people to do the Dungeon as you Woodcut. Doesn't seem that effective. You can also consider doing Large Sawmill jobs, for about 90k xp/h. Someone will correct me on this one. Finally, to round it up, an ideal setup for Nex would be Torva, dual Drygores, Aura/Scrimshaw as you would, Sixth-Age circuit or an Onyx (i), Whisper / Zealots if using single-stat boosting Prayers (think I saw someone in RSOF ID with some numbers claiming it's better than Turm/Piety even post-nerf). Like I said, sometimes a Range switch is taken, in which case take a Rcb / Zaryte / Assbows and a Top + Bottom switch. (My info may be outdated, specifically Nex-wise, so take it with a grain of salt till someone more experienced posts.)
  9. And then EoC happened. Ports gear is definitely needed to solo Zilly after the Blood Barrage nerf. You can try Leik's setup that I saw somewhere I can't recall, which involves Tetsu + Drygores. You could try to switch t90 out and pull out a Maul or something (especially true for SS flicking with AoE abilities from 2h) or you can go with Range, provided you have Royal Cbow. Not really sure how Magic would fare, but considering the recent nerfs, unless you have a Chaotic Staff and some patience to try setups, I wouldn't recommend it. I do remember people saying that port gear is very much needed for soloing Sara, so don't sub it out, unless you put a shield in (but that'd kill your DPS moreso than not having power armour).
  10. Check that guide's last update date and compare to Q's post time stamp. You got your answer, now it's up to you.
  11. Uh, sounds like a bug. My guthix cape definitely gives me critical. *checks*. Yep. Working. I've also had it for several years now, though. Wouldn't be a huge surprise if only new ones have that bug though, considering Jagex's track record of messing up things with EoC :P
  12. Read this earlie but forgot to reply - Thank-you a ton for that helpful info so far. I've shown this to my friend and we'll try this later on, whenever he decides to come online and stop getting drunk outside. Editzors; We managed to do it flawlessly in a duo, with my non-tank friend barely using any food - Yay! Ice still presents a little challenge, but everything else goes well. Thanks for the help!
  13. 'Lo, As of late, me and a friend of mine have been trying to duo Nex. However, we fail on the classic stage - blood. We never seem to be able to dish out enough DPS to get past it, even though I'm in Torva and he's in Bandos and we both have Drygores. We've tried to 'bruteforce' it, by pulling adrenaline potions, opening with a Berserk and dishing out thresholds asap to no avail. We're at a loss here; what should we be doing that we're clearly missing? - On another note, I've also been trying to solo Nex, just to get my feet wet and lose that nervous, tingling feeling you get when you first hunt her. I can perfectly solo the first two phases, much like everyone else, but I end messing up on Blood, too. Now, I immediately thought that doing the method I explained above wouldn't work in a solo (You don't need that much of a brain cell to understand that if two can't do it, neither can one), but I did see some solo videos. The most recent one I saw was a small past stream by Ambler, over on Twitch. Trying to emulate his strategy of killing reavers / running from sacrifice, I almost, almost did it, but still ended up not getting through it. In that video, he was in Tetsu. I did this in Torva with dual Drygores and couldn't do it. Yet, in Tank armor - POP - he manages it  So, if anyone with experience has any tips they wouldn't mind sharing, please go on! Should I swap my ability bar? Should we both? Should the tank in a duo wear a shield, or must we both use dual Drygores? (I also saw that Mith Seed trick for Ice phase. That's quite ingenious) On the same note, if anyone wants to just share their tactics / gear / ability bar for solo / duo, I can pick it up from there. Thanks in advance!
  14. Shouldn't the second week be Nex? ): Or has it been subbed in for the third?
  15. 1) If you're still trying to improve, consider switching Titan to a Uni or even a Yak. Yes, Titan helps if going for best speeds, but its aid is so insignificant right now that you might as well skip over it while perfecting your kills. 2) Good touch with the Adrenaline potions :D It's a definite must for good speeds. So is stalling adrenaline between kills. 3) I can't really see your gear, but I'm guessing Drygore maces, Slayer helm and Bandos. Again, power armour is a must for speed kills, but while learning, consider barrows or other tank-class armour if you just need to survive. 4) Try to change your standing place one square to the left. This way, you're in the path of a fire wall opening, meaning you can avoid some damage, which is always nice. Do not ever bother avoiding them, this is a simple convenience, except, of course, for the forging fire during R4. Also, try to kill the Time freeze soul if you ever see one. 5) If you search around the forums (I'm too lazy to do that myself :?) you can find Q's ability rotation advice for stuff like this. It mostly goes 3 second basic, another basic, 3 second basic, another basic, 3 second basic, threshold, basics rotation, threshold, etc. Ultimates are generally not worth their cost, save Berserker, but even then, it's debatable. Your best threshold are Assault, Destroy and Flurry. The last one only applies in the following point. 6) Consider using Flurry with SS if you get a few Souls around you. It's free healing and they die pretty fast. 7) Again, if you just *need* to survive, Vampyrism aura / Superior Vampyrism scrimshaw. (Not sure if you have them, again, can't see your gear) 8) If just going for one kill / trip, all's fine. However, when you perfect and want to be a little more effective, you won't need as much food, but you'll need a lot more P pots / Super restores. 9) Not seen in this video, but generally speaking, I don't tend to avoid souls' special attack, unless it's simply a step to the right / left (Phase 2, when only 2 spawn). Otherwise, Flurry + SS deals with them + brings back a modest LP sum. I think that's about it for general things. I'm sure someone like Xpx will pop in soon enough and give you more in depth advice :P
  16. Didn't see a specific subforum for this, thought it'd fit better within 'Quests' o.O Anywho, the page at http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/morytania_tasks.htm#elite, within the description of task X3, has this text: This item is cannot be bought from other players. Slight grammatical hiccup :P
  17. I thought I saw somewhere in the patch notes mid February that using Resonance on bosses' special attacks no longer healed you. I think this came along because of KK or whatnot. It still *prevented* the damage, but it didn't turn it into healing for you. But then again, they also said that Prayer switching on Jad would block fully because it's a mechanic of the fight, as it should, which also makes me wonder if this rule applies to Jads themselves...dunno

  19. QBD's regular chests are worth ~250 k and considering you can kill 1 in 5 minutes (and that isn't even considered fast, with drygores you can do it in 2-3 min per kill) it averages out to be about 3 mil an hour not including any rare drops that are worth 500 k (all the royal crossbow pieces). 3-4 mil is still a good estimate. For armadyl (and I only tell you this if you promise not to try to crash me 8-) ) all you do is turn on anguish (or whatever the range curse is) and soul split, spam abilities giving preferential treatment to 1. Thresholds (I do snapshot and rapid fire back to back in that order so that they come up again right next to each other) 2. AoE or chain abilities 3. Building adrenaline with basics. I did it in Karils, Barrows Gloves, archers ring, sara ammy, skill cape (t), and boots of subjugation and didn't need food at all at my stats. ofc bring a couple pieces for emergencies and go from there. I bring 1 rocktail, 3 overload flasks, 3 renewal flasks, and 10 prayer potion + nips and bonecrusher cuz I hate clutter. Get a royal crossbow at the least, its only a 2 mil investment and it's arguably the best option for ranging in the game. Sorry, but i've seen a lot of chests only worth 100k. And to showcase how much the price of QBD related items have fallen, RCB only costs ~718536 GP, if you buy it at mid atm. The 3-4mil/hr estimate, i'm certain, just like the 5m/hr estimate 3man KK, included rare drops. And with those devaluing, the estimated mil/hr also devalues. As for your armadyl method, you're missing 1 thing. Demon horn necklace. With bone crusher and Demon horn neck you could just take an inventory of ovls and stay indefinitely at armadyl. Maybe.) ---------- Verdict Cumulative total: 259,159 Average profit per kill + Effigies Cumulative total without rare / value drops / no luck whatsoever: 228,193 Average profit per kill + Effigies ---------- While you can argue that these values are off because I assumed near-identical drop rate for the non-rare drops, you'll find that the best drops (Grimy Lantadyme, Runite Ores) aren't Rare, as per the wiki's classification, so you can balance it out a tad more. Some experience at the QBD will also tell you that it's not unusual to get those drops back to back, for instance, whereas you'll have a hard time getting a Torstol seed twice in 10 kills. Good / bad news, though. QBD is going to become a Black Dragon Slayer target. Read that somewhere, maybe even around these very forums. Can't remember, though, so for now, don't quote me on it.
  20. So, my bank is increasing in value steadily, and I get bored of staring at an insignificant pile of cash all day long. I've decided to purchase some items and actually keep them, rather than selling back after a couple of runs with them. My available bankroll for this is around 350m. Clearly, I've invested in weapons first - MHM + EEE / V Wand + Book / Royal C'bow as of yet, potentially acquiring Z bow in the future for its marginally better DPS and cheaper cost As for armour, however, I'm at a bit of a loss. The above taken out of the equation, I'm left with roughly 160 - 170m to buy some more goodies. I'm keen on Slaying, so I need some armour variety for now, covering all corners of the combat triangle. (And yes, I do insist on doing so, even provided I've access to Drygores) For that effect, I've acquired a BCP, Sub. Garb and an ACP. 130m left. Now, I'm at a loss here. I guess the best course of action now would be to invest in T Legs for its damage boost, and then procede to T Boots / Gloves. But then I think to myself, I also enjoy doing some QBD now and again. For the most part, I melee her without any sort of issue, and I'm used to doing so with Drygores + BCP + T Legs. Now my question's the following: Provided those leftover 130m, should I go for T Legs, T Boots / Gloves, Virtus Legs, Pernix armour or whatnot? Friendly reminder saying that I'm focusing on Slayer for now with a side of QBD, which I'm close to mastering, but still unwilling to do in Void (Low attention span :P) (My stats ought to be in my signature. Probably. If not, assume maxed on all Combat disciplines + add-ons. Also have access to all possible Slayer tasks [including Aquanites, yay]. Also open to a selective block list focused on XP/h assuming ability usage) And a little side question: Provided a relatively safe environment, where you run close to no risk of death, is it worth it to use Mage Void over full virtus for the set effect? Assume V Wand / Book, stream, ovls, torment, etc. I usually do use Void, but I'd like to make sure. Edit: Small not-so-small edit - I forgot to mention, I do eventually want to have a 'gambler's' bank. Torva, Pernix, Virtus, Divine, Drygores, etc. Don't ask, it's just a random goal I set for myself eons ago!
  21. Not "going to be fixed". A fix might be feasible, without any promises so far. [qfc]74-75-38-64236304[/qfc] Pages 7, 17, 19. Mostly 19.
  22. The only thing I'm not quite fond of is the description. Really hope it's not a hint...
  23. Probably Bxpw antecipation because of March and stuff.
  24. You're splitting accuracy from chance to hit monsters? Isn't that the very definition? Give me an example of where accuracy is capped please - I'm actually unaware of any thing of the sort. I am surprised that you are unaware of an accuracy cap... The Chance to hit any monster is 100% (or whatever the game designer have put in, 99%, 95%, but the exact value does not matter in this discussion), regardless of how high your 'accuracy' is, this is true in every single thing under the sun, you cannot get more than 100% chance to hit. While accuracy is very closely linked to chance to hit, it is not a direct conversion (if it was, it would mean that low level players cannot hit anything with bronze weapons due to their accuracy being so low). Thus there must exist a point in that calculation where the resulting chance to hit on the monster has reached the cap (whether that is the absolute cap or the game cap), and any further accuracy increases beyond this point serve absolutely no purpose. Accuracy is a great thing to have, but once you hit that cap, it becomes the most useless stat to upgrade thereafter. I am pretty sure that chance to hit bosses will not hit the cap anytime soon without using the very best gear, the rest of RS is a completely different matter. If one can reliably hit stuff without missing their targets for any length of time using a lower tier magical weapon, then I find absolutely no point in getting a degradeable upgrade that yields no actual upgrade. Magic is unique in this regard that the weapon only provides accuracy and attack speed, while the damage itself is determined by the spell alone, which has no tie to the weapon. Melee and ranged upgrades will always be upgrades because their damage is based on themselves rather than something outside, so even if accuracy is redundant, their damage is unaffected. And that to me is Accuracy vs. Defence roll, not an invisible 'cap'. And vs. Defence, nothing's better than accuracy. Granted, you shouldn't upgrade a lvl 75 staff into a lvl 80 to kill goblins or farm unicows, but if you go anywhere over, like, level 140, you'll probably find it useful. That said, I have no factual evidence to backup what I'm claiming, and I'm open to being proven wrong and corrected.
