  2. I love it!! I started in RSC and missed the earlier cutoff by like a week. I been waiting for 4 years for them to do this!
  3. I am not sure I like the idea of joining f2p and p2p runecrafting again. But that seems to already be covered. Good article.
  4. The 3rd age body entry is listing the GE price as 0. It has been like this for several months.

  6. Unlike Barrows armor and Godswords, Skillcapes are objects that directly display that the user has achieved Level 99 in . It's not really that we want high level equipment, but more so that we want to display our achievements. Barrows armour shows that you have 70+ Defence (high by Jagex's standards) are enough money/luck to obtain relatively rare armour, compared to other things like rune. Godswords are the same showing that you have 75+ Attack and either have got a hilt somehow or made enough money to afford one. Both items are bad for training as there are better alternatives in almost every situation, and yet they are still worn by many as show off items, which also have decent stats in comparision to the rest of the armours in RuneScape. Skillcapes are exactly like this, they show you have achieved something and are high level. They give good bonuses and yet in almost every situation you could use another cape instead (fire, accumalator, god cape) for better bonuses in whatever skill you may be training. They are basically a show off item, just like the four godswords and six Barrows armour sets are. Suggesting that F2P get skillcapes, which are high level P2P content, is just as bad as suggesting that F2P get access to Barrows or God Wars, which are both high level P2P content. If you want to get a skillcape, become a member. Jagex made them P2P only for a reason, and changing their mind now would be a terrible decision for both the RuneScape community, and Jagex themselves. Backtracking on what you've opposed the last few years and starting to support it is almost as ridiculous as the idea that was suggested pre-december 2007 that Jagex start selling RuneScape gold themselves, to counter RWT. I see your point, however our discussion is getting a bit too long, as this thread is for "Why can't F2P have?" not debating what F2P should and should not have. Feel free to continue the debate in the "Should F2P have Skillcapes?" thread. That's exactly what I'm trying to say, "Should F2P have Skillcapes?" is just as bad as saying "Should F2P have any other high level P2P content?" Skillcapes are P2P for exactly the same reason that other high level P2P content such as Barrows/godswords are. If Jagex were to give F2P Skillcapes, why wouldn't they give F2P Barrows or godswords or any other high level P2P only content? I, for one, agree with giving F2p skil capes. It is the cape of achievement, for achieving the highest possible level in a skill. It shouldn't matter whether you pay or not. Barrows and Godswords are another matter though. To give them to free to play would just mean rich members would be able to use them in free to play. Honestly, members are able to make more money faster then F2p. Most F2p people would not be able to afford Barrows, let alone the 70mil+ for an armadyl godsword. Giving F2p high level combat equipment would be like giving North Korea free rein to use Nuclear Weapons. The devastation would be incredible. What F2p person is going to be ablt to defeat a godsword with a rune scimitar? Especially with the best food being swordfish or lobsters. Members can barely eat sharks fast enough to stay alive when a pjer claws them. So, any weapons or armor that would affect combat to that extent would be very bad. F2p had corrupted dragon weapons. The Corrupt Dragon Battleaxe is the f2p version of vesta's longsword. +9 defence from a cape isnt as much as +300 defence from barrows armor or +132 str and slash from a godsword. The cape adds +9 to the max defence, barrows adds +100 defence. I don't even want to consider how much the godsword is better then a rune scimitar.
  7. I like the idea of a multi-combat version of the fight caves. It would be nice to be able to have fun with stuff like that. The only thing about your idea is that white armor for members is very difficult to wear. You have to kill a ton of black knights to be able to effectively use it. 1300 black knights is quite a lot. Although i suppose you could use a cannon in taverly dungeon to get it quickly. Would be interesting.
  8. Frankly, I like this idea. I think that is an important aspect of the game. Perhaps the def is a lil over the top, I would suggest only +5 def in all stats and keep the +2 str. This would effectively make it half the fire cape and still keep it the best f2p cape. It would be pretty worthless for members tho, cause the obby cape is so much better. I would enjoy this minigame tho, and i would use it to practice for the fight caves. As I am closing in on lvl 100 f2p combat (I am a member), I kinda am starting to really need the firecape. Also, to make it harder for members, or at least more expensive, simply remove the prayer restore options. Make the members severs be forced to use prayer restore potions to get prayer back. This would pretty well limit it to f2p worlds anyway, because prayer potions are rather expensive.
  9. Wow your post is absolutely unintelligible. I take it english isn't your first language. I tried, but i just couldn't make any sense of this, sorry. You have turned into an absolute, arrogant [wagon]. why? I actually wasn't being an [wagon] here. I really just don't know what he said. Usually I can figure it out if i really try, but this just seems like it has multiple sentences mixed together, while leaving off the points of each. If you can make it out then let me know, but I just couldn't make sense of it. Anyway, I just like having an alter ego on the forums. If you ever talk to me in game I'm actually really nice. I'm usually one of the first to volunteer if someone needs help with something. I have to give it to manutham, this post really was totally incomprehensible. Also, who really wants a party hat. What a stupendous waste of money. Far better to get any of the upgraded spirit shields. I really think that you guys are not quite getting his proposition.
  10. I have no idea why you guys have such a hard time with bones to peaches. I am in the process of working on my own guide for this, but its gonna take a while cause im making it AOW worthy. You will have several tanking methods there, but its gonna take me quite a while to finish that many trips to give good data. Really, wear armor with bones to peaches. At 70 def, find some armor that gives you like 200+ range def and you will be good. And wear a d hide body so you can still use the accumulator. Thats my advise. Ranging pots and food are almost unnecessary. Start with 20 tuna or so and you will be fine.
  11. graphs dont prove anything. I can make multiple graphs that say anything, even saying that 95% of Jagex money comes from selling raw chickens in game for real money out of game. They would sell these to all the people who want to get into the evil chickens lair without the hassle of getting their own raw chicken. But that doesn't mean its real or not. P.S. The OP needs to go back through and fix all his grevious spelling and grammar issues.
  12. if you dont like that face that some guy made money, and you didnt, Quit RS and go suck your thumb in your crib.
  13. ok guys, i was flipping through the forum, and i saw this thread. viewtopic.php?f=143&t=772792&p=6393863#p6393863 And as far as i can tell, its the worst thing i have ever heard. here is the premis. "Lets get rid of the trading system and just use the GE." the OP is crying because he decided to sell his party hat for 108Mil junk instead of cash. according to him, he HAD to sell it. Can we please convince him otherwise, or at least make him stop whining? Hes saying, "No trading what so ever. I saw a guy buy 65 d chains on the ge, and sell them again for 18mil profit on the GE. he shouldnt be allowed to do this because i didnt think of it first. Lets limit the number of expensive items you can buy to 1 a day." If you agree with this, quit runescape and go suck your thumb somewhere.
  14. OH God no no no no!!!!!!! What you are suggesting is even more stringent price controls. Please do not do this. Why are you mad about some guy buying 65 d chains and making 18mil?? why not just do it yourself?? it would be a good way to make money. Unfortunately, you seem to follow the same line a thinking that Karl Marx did. If you dont have it, no one else should either. Please just give up the game and dont ruin it by complaining that you made a stupid mistake by sellin a phat. you didnt have to sell it, you just did. if you didnt want the junk, why the hell did you sell it? So you must have thought that you wanted the junk more then the party hat. Stop complaining. Read this thread. viewtopic.php?f=30&t=779636 and stop complaining.
  15. thank you. I think what happened was that you didnt immediatly clarify what you were saying in the first thread. I read teh entire thing, and it looked like people were taking you to be saying that they should take a "loss" and sell their stuff via GE. Better if people bought it on the GE and the owners could decide to keep it, or sell on GE for the GE price. That way, the sellers make their own decision, which is better. I think what started it was that people though you were telling the sellers to take a loss, rather then telling to buyers to be patient. Lol. Although, from his last post, I don't thing Soma2035 is gonna be back to see this........lol
  16. you need 2.9k C wars tickets to get the full set. I know people who play enough to have several hundred frog tokens. like 600. Thats the plate body of the 3rd armor set.
  17. Geez.......it was quite interesting to read all that. And that quote chain was ridiculous. I see what you both are saying, and i think you both have valid points. To sum up: Mazgar: Junk trading is worthless, because the price you pay is the price of the junk+the price of the rare. So basically, its not worth it because your not getting any more for your money. Your just getting junk when you buy a rare. Also, the seller is just selling his junk at the GE price anyway, so its not actually that good. Soma2035: Junk trading is good, because it allows a player to cash in on all the worthless crap that Jagex has overpriced in the GE, or that no one uses. Its a great way to liquidate assets and make a nice cash pile. Junk is annoying, but worth it, because a junk trade will allow you to instantly earn far above the GE price for the main item, and it allows you clear alot of bank space that is used from when you spent time skilling. I almost agree with both of you. I have felt for a while that it would be nice if we could somehow get all the rares and other prices up to where they should be to reflect demand. But also, this would require many thousands of people to take many millions of loss to do. This is a good demonstration of the problems that arrise when the government institutes price controls. The government never does a good job about it, and it normally results in the almost total collapse of the economy, over time. Apparently, the Rich rule the world, and the rest of us poor saps have to dance to their tune. If you watch the market tho, you will see something that both of you missed. Both of your arguments are founded on the supply. Soma2035 says in a nut shell that the suppliers must lower prices for a short time, in order to gradually raise them to where they should be. Mazgar says that suppliers should continue to maintain prices, because it will keep the ammounts of GP in the market stable, thus keeping the already flimsy market as shored up as can be achieved. From where I stand, I think I might see a third possible solution. Here is my idea. Do not change anything about the selling process of rares. The owners get to decide what to sell the rares for, and there is really nothing anyone can do about it. Rather, the much larger masses of not so rich people need to start changing. They may not have any rares, but they are working their way up to them. So, do not change the supply, change the demand. Let the players who scrimp and save and pull all thier money together refuse to buy the junk trades. Operate through the GE. When you want that santa, or that mask set, don't pay the money in a junk trade, put it in the GE and wait. Yeah, it might take a while, but then again, you will end up saving money. Post for the max price, and sit there and wait for it to go up. In and of themselves, rares are worthless. A player who wants to sell his santa for 45mil when the GE says 19mil is allowed to charge that much for his santa. But no one has to buy it. If he cant get rid of it, it will become worth less in his eyes. He will see it sitting in his bank, and think "hmmm.....if I could sell that for 25mil, I would have enough to get the Armadyl GS of my dreams, and I would be able to make money with the GS." A little later, "hmmm....the GS is going down, and the santa's are going up slowly. The GE price for the Santa is now 22mil, which is exactly what I need to buy the GS and still have a respectable amount left over." So he puts the santa in the GE, and it gets sold at the max price, thus driving the max price up, and getting him his GS. While everyone may not be completely happy, it is a workable solution. The GE price will slowly crawl up to where it should be, and for the most part, people will be able to go on living. The little guy will get a better shot at the rare he has always wanted, and the rich guys will get the high prices for rare items that they want. It will take more time then the other proposed solutions, but it will keep everyone happier. In closing, screwing around with supply makes alot of demanding people mad, but screwing with demand only makes a few suppliers mad. Please consider :)
  18. Hey! I just threw this idea out there. It doesn't have to be the colors I used, and yeah wearing a full set of the stuff would look wierd. But if you just took one piece, then probably you would get it to look amazing with something.........like some way to get good armor that matched the different skill cape colors. Or something like that. Pretty much anything besides the regular brown and off white of regular barrows.
  19. OK, thanks for clarifying :D If this skill ever gets introduced into the game, let the TipIters know ahead of time. Im gonna want to get ready to hit the ground running on it  My goal is to be the first camper at the GWD Bandos................hahaha! lol :P
  20. OK OK.......some of the things I see are not as bad as i thought. I don't have many of the required lvls to make a ton of money like that. Also, correct me if Im wrong, but in the proposition, with the new skill, it just said that the altar would take 90 prayer to use "to the fullest potential", or something like that. I took that to mean that it would take 90 prayer to be able to get the huge prayer bonus when you worship bones on the altar. I didn't think I read it through and it sounded to me that you could enter the chamber with just the 96 arch. I have never heard or seen of an altar that took prayer lvls just to pray at it. Also, lets get this straight that im not ranting about how the trade limit and gravestones ruined the game. Yes, I hate the trade limit, but i was a fletcher and it basically doubled the price of my materials.....lol. And dont get me wrong, I love the gravestones. they basically saved me what was at the time 15mil in items. So that made me very happy. :) The only thing that I really had a problem with was the high lvls who could sit in bandos. The KC is pitifully easy to get, and getting 2 kills without a prayer recharge is plenty of time a food runner to leave, restock sharks, and run back. With high QP, a runner could trade a full inv of sharks without a problem. What im worried about is the cheapening of Bandos. I kinda would like to have bandos stay as a nice symbol of wealth and everything. having it drop would be nice for everyone who cant afford it, but probably make the people who already spent the 30+mil for the set and GS a little upset. That is my only issue with the entire skill. Mostly the only problem with me for the aviansies is that i see the prayer guys running around in monks robes or whatever, and stealing my aviansies. they never take damage!!! So thats just a personal annoyance of mine, a solid bones to peaches user. them not having to even spend money on prayer pots would just annoy me. But let me get this straight, I do like the idea. I love the rewards, and i dont think that anything is overpowered or anything, except just the altar a little bit. Im sure that by the time, if ever, that this skill comes out, I will be waiting for the release so i can access the altar and sit in bandos forever. lol :) But really, I do like the idea as a whole, so put me down on that support list........and it looks like im gonna go get my 85 mining lol. Thanks for the idea btw, i forgot about P2P so i was still thinking that rune was pretty much worthless like it used to be. :) Support 99.9%
  21. Easily fixed. I'll make it so that when you go down into the altar you lose your KC. Simple and done. And I just want you to know it would not be the fastest way to make money. It would be decent, yes, around the same as 85 Mining once you hit about level 90, but I would not say it would be the fastest method, just an extremely good one. Unless you get a Dragon 2h every hour at level 96 (which is highly unlikely, as it has about a 1 in 1,000 chance of obtaining) you probably couldn't make more than 600k an hour with this skill. Which, I won't lie, is very good, but you've got to be high leveled, and, let's face it, we need a new money making skill. Losing your kill count is not the issue. When you enter the boss room, you lose your kill count. I am pointing out that it would be extremely cheaper and still relitively fast to leave after every boss kill, recharge your prayer, and reget your kill count. As it is, the boss room altar only works every 10 mins. Having a altar that works every time with such a huge bonus would basically nullify the need to bring any sort of prayer restoration to fight. THe higher lvls down there can already get 2 kills in without needing a recharge. If they were smart enough to pay a food runner, they would basically never need to stop killing. The bandos kc of 40 is already pitifully easy to get. Another concern is people who just want to skill and stuff. There are people who use prayer to kill aviansies. having a altar down there would eliminate the need to bring any sort of prayer restoration. People would also be able to get a huge pile of monsters on them, pray protect, and kill whatever monster they wished with impunity. I have not seen anything that makes 600k an hour that is easy to do. The best I can do is aviansies, and even there, I can only manage 400k and hour. Same with green drags, where I get 350k and hour and thats alot of work. I think the fact that jagex has given us several money hole skills means they think we have to much money anyway. Its unbelievable how common the GS is already, and am seeing more and more of every type of spirit shield. But then again, im from the good old days of RSC, I am a proud owner of a scythe, and I remember fondly the real skill it took to merchant. Now, with the trade rule and the grave stones, inflation is rampant. Your pretty much garunteed to get your items back when you die. I died at Dagonnoths, pretty much the farthest away you can get from anything, and i made it back in time to pick everything i dropped up. That was with the worst gravestone. People are saving alot more money now adays cause they never have to rebuy anything they die with.
  22. to reply to sees_all1, im proposing it to be implemented on the rare armor anyway. There is really no way to make it for all armor, because the rest of the armor is smithable. thats why i want it limited to dragon, barrows, third age, and anything that is not smithed. this would included the sara sword and zammy spear. I dont know about the dyes that you would use to make the armor, cause most of it is some sort of metal. It also doesnt really have a set pattern to the way that it could be dyed. Like a silver and green drag chain, split the color diagonly across the chest like one of the old shirts used to be. Basically i was hoping that this armor would serve as a status symbol kind of. perhaps you could make it non-tradable or something. Like the shield and helm you can put your symbol on from construction. I dont really have the mechanics worked out, but im sure that getting it any way would involve lots of mind numbing repetitive skilling. I would like to trade in frog tokens for something else, perhaps they could make it possible to change the color of a weapon by using enough frog tokens. something like 2900 tokens to change an entire armor set, including weapon, to multiple colors. although that is a ton of frog tokens. looks like i might start fishing alot lol.
  23. I liked it, but it seems like easy cash. I know that you have all the random events and stuff in, just seems like not enough. If you dropped the xp lower from the godwars alter room it would be better. I think its kind of crazy to have a fully functional alter in godwars, cause it would make the boss killing too easy. Its already pitifully easy to get the bandos kills as it is. You would get teams who ran in for a bandos or zammy kill, and then ran back out for a prayer recharge. It doesnt take that long to kill 40 hobgoblins or imps. Arma and Sara guys should still be hard, cause it takes so long to get the KC there. Other then that, I love the idea. I would definitely use it. Even with every precaution, it would still be the fastest way to make money in the game. So i guess I support :) my only worry is that i will have all that cash and bandos will be dirt cheap........
  24. I am currently employed in raising my slayer, with my goal of 83. Gonna take a while as you can see in my signature that im not really that close lol. But i have found that it is faster to melee most tasks. For me, this is because of the weapons. With a black mask and either a whip and or a dragon scimmy, i can kill faster then using range. Now, my range is not that far behind my str. The reason is the weapons and mask. The mask works only for melee, and for me it adds alot of accuracy and ups my max damage from 24 too 26 with whip. To get comparably high hits based on my range lvl, i have to use my rune Cbow and broad bolts. Even with my range bonus at +180, i still dont hit as often as whip and black mask. And my range max with broad is only 21. On top of that, the crossbow is slower. If i was able to use rune arrows and a mage short, I would probably do fine with range, but im not gonna waste the money on 5k rune arrows when i have multitudes of serviceable steel and mith arrows. Unfortunately, using anything but rune drops my hits so low that the extra speed cant make up for it. This isnt to say that i dont use range for slayer. I do. I find that the ability to not have to go get more food and stuff very usuful. Also, in a busy spot such as the blue drags, range is preferable just because you can get drags. its almost impossible to beat the rangers to the drags if your a meleer. For tasks such as lessers and basilisks and such, melee is by far superior just because i can finish my entire task in one inventory of tuna, provided i remember alching runes. For difficult tasks like black demons, I range because then i dont have to leave every 30 demons to refresh my food and potions. Not having to walk back thru taverly dungeon multiple times more then makes up for the slowness of range in actually killing the demons.
