  1. I think it's only mortars and big things like that because I see small bundles of fireworks being sold at like grocery stores and whatnot. Every city in the Phoenix metropolitan area puts on their own show (which are permitted and regulated by "professionals") and since the Valley is almost entirely flat you can end up seeing a good 5 or more shows just by sitting on someone's roof.
  2. This will be my second 4th spent in Arizona. I'll probably spend it on another roof, have a few beers, and watch some fireworks go boom.
  3. If we went want to go by the city we currently live the population of Tempe, AZ is 161,719 and the population of the Phoenix metropolitan area is 4,192,887. Which ever you want to classify me as. :P
  4. So far I got you beat, my hometown of Granite Falls, WA has a population of 3,364.
  5. Couple hours, England is going to be filled with blue.
  6. It appears that if you are signed in to your gmail/google account it links back to your account. edit: If you click on someone's name it seems to take you to a special "Google Maps Profile" but does not compromise any of your personal information.
  7. Where in the world is everyone from? After a bit of curiosity that arose from the Census 2.0 topic, we thought it would be a fun little project to figure out where everyone is from and with the help of Google Maps, we can get a nice visual representation of just that! All you have to do is follow the link to our map: Where in the World is Tip.it? EDIT: Due to recent vandals, the map has been changed from an open collaboration to an invite only collaboration. Everyone is still welcome to participate in the project just instead of freely being able to place a market you have to either PM your email so I can add you as a collaborator OR if you don't feel comfortable with sharing your email address, you can simply reply to the thread telling where you would like your marker to me placed and one of the collaborator who have volunteered will place your marker for you! [spoiler=(How to place a marker on the map)] After clicking on the link, you will be taken here: From there all click on the edit button, which will enable the editing mode. From there find your place on the map then click on marker () button (if you scroll over it, it reads "add a placemark") and place your marker, which will then open up a box for you to fill in a title (The location) and leave a description (a personal message if you wish). Once you're done, hit "Ok" then hit done on the left sidebar to close the editor. And you have now successfully place a marker on the Where in the World is Tip.it? Map! ----------------- Notes: The map is PRIVATE which means the only way for anyone to access the map is to have the link given above. Not a 100% sure on this detail but you may have to own a gmail/google account to be able to edit the map. (Someone confirm) You do not have to give your exact location, just whatever you are comfortable with sharing. Most importantly, have fun with it! ----------------- If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I'm putting it together now. Making a little guide too to show people what to do.

I just did a quick look around on google maps, it looks pretty easy to set up if we want to make this a reality.

That'd actually be very cool. You'd still have people creeping on people's houses judging by how precise Google Maps is. :P A more broad pinning would be better. Like by region maybe at the most. You could just pin a city, not an exact location.

I remember that thread. Can't remember if it ever got completed or not. Yeah and I am far too lazy to go digging for it :P We could start a new one with google maps or something, and you could anonymously pin your location on a world map. Then we could get an idea of the world spread of our forum members. That'd actually be very cool.

I LOVE the last one. Keep it up! Can't wait to see more!

Being hispanic/Latino is considered a ethnicity not a race. The question of whether or not the person is of hispanic/latino decent is also noted in the US Census but is a separate question altogether.
  15. stevepole replied to Crocefisso's topic in Off-Topic
Memory serves me right, hispanics were treated as caucasian in the last US Census. To bad we're only limited to three questions as it would also be nice to pin point the general age of the off-topic userbase.

I'm going to see him live on the 28th with Wiz Khalifa. I hate you man, always at the sick concerts. Damn I hate living in England. :wall: You guys do get screwed when it comes to hip hop artists but you get a lot of great bands that roll through.
  17. If that's what you define it - the topic is you pick what it does, I'm not sure you understand My understanding was through your example, which is where I based it's limitations from. So through your example and it's inability to make decisions, it's fairly useless.
  18. Doesn't sound very useful, seems like just an advance voice recognition software which runs google searches.
  19. Besides Paris, where else did you go in Europe?
  20. I'll say this again.. What makes these films worth watching? Anyone can make a list but why should be go out and watch these films? Are they the best written films ever? Best documentaries? Best comedies?
  21. I just went on a Game of Thrones marathon and watched the entire first season.. Not much of a fantasy guy, nor did I read the books but I found it to be fairly entertaining. I hope to learn more about the area north of the wall in the second season.
  22. Why do we need to watch them?

Apple recently announced their new mobile operation system iOS 5 earlier this month. If you want more details and whatnot just do a quick google search. Is anyone testing it? Opinions? I'm also wondering the legality of paying someone to register my phone's UDID to enable me access to the beta.
  24. I trim my armpits about once a month. I'd rather not have a bunch of hair hanging out of my armpits at any given time. It's just disgusting imo.
  25. Moved to the tech forum.
