  1. Unless China attacks the US or invades another country I don't think we will go to war anytime soon. Iran or North Korea, maybe. And who in South America poses a major threat?
  2. What do you think is going to happen once the states leaves? I fully agree that Iraq needs full control at some point, but they aren't ready in the slightest. Leaving now basically renders the work the States has done there over the past seven years useless. For the next year the focus will shifted from combat operations to solely training Iraq forces and security. I would like to believe that the US knows what they are doing. I'm sure when we do leave there will be some sort of uprising but I would like to assume we have a plan in place incase the worst happens but I would also like to believe that the people of Iraq will be capable of holding their own.
  3. No problem. :) Oh thats cheap I was thinking if you bought it brand new. In that case I'd probably say go for it!
  4. This. As much as people want it to happen, something may come up that makes an immediate end impossible if it isn't already. I'll believe it when it happens. It'll happen. At some point we (US) have to leave and I think now is the right time. What more can we do for themselves? At some point the people of Iraq need to take back full control over their country. They can't be dependent on us forever.

  6. Don't get a macbook air. It's a waste of money, just get a MBP.
  7. Today it was announced that at the end of the month, the US will end all combat operations and focus on training and support Iraq security forces and the US plans to have a full withdrawal of troops by the end of next year! However there is still no plans to withdrawal troops from Afghanistan. Opinions? news links: http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/08/02/obama.iraq.drawdown/index.html?hpt=T1 BBC has video of Obama giving the announcement: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10839342
  8. I don't get why the UK gets the album one day earlier then the US but I"m jealous.

He probably lives there. I myself would like to know more about the history of southern California, but There's too little records it seems. One day I plan to go to one of these historical houses musems they have around; that'll probably have something. I would also check Mexico's history, they might have some interesting stuff on the it.

I'm actually familiar with one of the recent sites posted and even though they do offer downloads to free mixtapes they also offer downloads to illegally obtained music, which is I would like to remind people that posting links to this sites is against forum rules.

Why the history of the Great Lakes, if I may ask? Never once have I ever thought of the history of that area.

The most reliable source I've ever been able to find is checking artist wiki pages. Other then that I don't know any particular site that lists them. Possibly check a music stores website? Just did a quick google search "upcoming music releases" and found this: http://www.metacritic.com/music/upcomingreleases.shtml and it turns out to be pretty accurate for the most part.

A day in colonial life would be interest, I'd give you that. I've also just never been much a fan of American history. Compared to elsewhere we're very boring historically, granted we are very young.

Why colonial life? Everything I remember learning about colonial life in high school made it out to be horrid. My personal favorite periods in history are Ancient Greece and the Renaissance. I also enjoy learning about the Crusades and the rise of the Catholic church.

It's clear Avatar is primarily about the SFX (especially looking at the way it was marketed). The story is laughable, especially compared to Camerons previous work. Yeah, thats marketing.. Their job is to get as may people into the theater as they can. They don't care about the story they just want to make sure that enough tickets are sold that film will make enough money so everyone comes home with money in their pockets. So of course they're going to focus on the 3D aspect of the film, who wouldn't? It's hot and If I'm not mistaken every 3D movie that has been released since has been a hit in the box office despite reviews. From that quote you pulled, it only shows that Cameron cared so much about his story (keyword) and his vision that he was willing to wait for the technology to catch up with it. He didn't just write any old story for the technology he wrote a story and then created the necessary technology so he could tell his story the way he envisioned it. If you really believe that Avatar is all about the special effects you really need to go and listen to every interview James Cameron made about avatar because they will prove you wrong.
  21. I don't have an answer but I'm curious, what would you want to take a screenshot of? Game scores?
  22. I've only done two practice matches and both times I got slaughtered. Since then all I've been playing are 2v2 matches with my brother against the computer. I'm starting to develop a bit of a system now so maybe this weekend I'll trying a couple more practice matches and see how I do again.

If you believe that Avatar was created to showcase the advancement of CGI, your sadly mistaken. first and foremost it's about the story, the technology that brings it to life is second.
  24. I agree. I don't think souls exist but was intended as an idea given to people to prove that god is real and can neither be proven right or wrong and is why the idea is still debated today.
