  1. I feel like a noob for asking this. #-o But herblore is SO expensive to just get 3 levels. :( And is pretty much the most difficult skill to DIY. The only problem is, I NEED IT FOR MY QUEST CAPE. :( I was thinking of selling my d axe then... 1. Tele to waterbirth and collect snapes, tele back to varrock (GE), rinse & repeat. 2. Buy WFV & Ranarr (while growing some as much as I can) 3. Make prayer pots. 4. Sell pots. 5. Wash rinse repeat. Or is there an easier method...?
  2. @Ez: I believe in the Q&A thread one of the Jagex moderators talked as if it was a mini-game. Sounds like it. Very interesting. I don't do tears of Guthix because construction doesn't matter to me at the moment, so I haven't been down there since the quest. You're referring to the Jagex Mod revealing that they're working on a Mahjarrat quest in the Q&A right? If not that was a lucky guess. =D>
  3. Didnt do the quest that was released today did you?! A quest?! :o:O I haven't been on Runescape yet today. Wooo! I've been waiting forever to find out what happened!
  4. 1. I forgot to bring food to the Dream Mentor quest bosses the first attempt. The sad thing is I died trying to get to the dream lectern. #-o 2. I also remember having an account that was awesome and I thought I worked on it for a long time. Then logging into it later, after quitting for a year, and realized I was level 40. o.o The biggest fail of that is that I actually had members on my level 40. ;l I was pumped to get high construction when it was released because of how popular POH houses were, but now world 31 is so ... empty. It only has like 1 level 99 party at any given time. LAME. It's only worth it to train up to like ... lecterns and tele portal rooms. I was going to train prayer via Guthix tears but then realized that my construction was 2 levels lower. :(
  5. Accounts that haven't finished the tutorial island and have not been logged into for 4 years is a little silly.
  6. Okay so, Runescape, as said by Mod Paul, has specific storylines that have been talked about for YEARS since Runescape has been open. Most of the storylines have been left open, and others have been implied by Jagex. Let's talk about storylines. :) 1. 'As a First Resort...' and 'Swan Song' seem to imply that the Wise Old Man is retired from his adventures - but his telescope is still pointed towards Draynor Village! Was the WOM's activities in Swan Song just to lull Runescape into a false sense of securit 2. What happened to Zanik, and why are the cave goblins still thanking me for saving her, when she has been sucked into another plane (or was she...?)... 3. Will there be more History quests? Meeting History was really interesting! Will be adding more of my own and other people's. This is interesting. :D
  7. I think I would prefer making magic longbows (DIY + buying bow string). 250K woodcutting 9K Runecrafting 5K mining XP 65k magic XP 183K Fletching XP It took me a while to cut, for the most part, but it was worth it. 512K experience and 1356K profit isn't bad for the time it took me to do it. If I have some spare time and want magic up fast I'll be willing to try this. I've heard of it but was not sure how good it was. I agree with one of the above posts though, profit can be made on almost everything if you make your nats...
  8. Fixed inaccurate data. :ohnoes: 03.16.2009 100% approval - 10 points maples & 5 points flax - 3 crushed nests, 2 curry seeds, 1 gold ring, 350 maples, 270 flax
  9. I'm still conducting controlled research for this guide. I can say confidently though, from experience, that tree seeds are as random as nests from woodcutting your own trees.
  10. I'm good at Minesweeper and thus vinesweeper is a piece of cake. How long typically does an advanced minesweeper player take to get a yew seed? I'm wondering if I should break the monotony of skilling/questing by vinesweeper (and to get some extra seeds in coalition with my kingdom)
  11. I recommend instead of running to the bank every time your herbs are diseased to bring a couple of casts of the Plant Cure spell on your farming pursuits. Not to mention the spell animation is so awesome compared to the lame pouring of plant cure.
  12. I'd say summoning because you technically don't have to pay to train construction and prayer, but 99 summoning requires millions of shards.
  13. Just pointing it out that unless you get TONS of XP lamps, farming is not the way to go. In the time it takes to get 16 XP lamps and use them on farming, you could probably have made enough money to check the health of a papaya plant many times over. This might not mean much to some people because you could say that about almost all skills. But... it only takes a split second to gain 8k XP (CH papaya), you don't really have to work at it.
  14. [hide=Requirements]-Throne of Miscellenia - Royal Trouble for Hard Wood[/hide] Step 1. Raising your approval up to 100% [hide=inventory]1 rake 4 Watering Can (8) 1 compost mound pouch 19 buckets of compost varrock teleport tireless run scrolls spirit terrorbird[/hide] [hide=equipment]Boots of Lightness Spotted/Spottier Cape Lunar Staff/Dramen Staff[/hide] [hide=method]1. Start at Edgeville bank, with starter inventory. 2. Summon Compost Mound. 3. Withdraw 1 compost from bank. 4. Run to the fairy ring to Zanaris, then dial CIP. 5. Book it east to the farming patch NE of the fishing docks. You will see Farmer Fromund weeding the 'weedy' patch. 6. Your objective is simple. Water the dry patch twice, weed the weedy patch 3 times, then compost the barren patch. 7. Wait until the dry patch resorts back to the dry phase, rinse, repeat. 8. When you run out of compost simply use your buckets on your compost mound. Note: You might want to substitute a few buckets for Humidify Runes if for some reason you run out of water, which I don't believe will happen because I only use about 2 and a half cans from 25%-100%. Also Note: You're approval drops 1% per day and cannot go below 25% unless you kill citizens/steal from the stalls. It is best to return to your kingdom every day. If not to check on how your peasants are doing with collecting, then at least to keep your approval at a maximum. This is the FASTEST way to raise your approval from a lowered one. Each action you take gives you 1% approval. That means that your first rotation of farming gives you 6%![/hide] 2. The basics [hide=economics of KM]Every day your kingdom takes money out of your coffers depending on how you distribute the 15 'points'. How much your kingdom requires per day can be determined by the formula: Coffers*0.1 Therefore your coffers can have a maximum of 75k taken from it per day, as Advisor Ghrim states in his small explanation. Furthermore maximizing your points while having the maximum coffers of 7.5M will last you 90 days of the maximum coffer reduction. After then you are best to top it off, to keep your kingdom running efficiently. NOTE: You can only put 10 points in per collection category. You'll have to put your remaining 5 somewhere else or just leave them as leftover points. Coffers - your kingdoms treasury; funds for gathering the resources.[/hide] [hide=gathering]Your subjects can gather the following: Hard Wood: Teaks/Mahogany/Mixture Requires Royal Trouble. (Every 350: 1 bird nest) Herbs/Flax (Can get herb seeds) Coal (You get some gems too) Under 'Mining'. Maples (Every 100 maples: 1 birds nest) Normal Seeds (called 'farming') Tuna/Sharks (under 'fishing')[/hide] [hide=Specific Uses]Moneymaking KM can make LOADS of cash. To maximize the profit, I would personally put 100% of my coffers on maples. Every 100 maples collected by your peasants, you get a bird's nest. Which CAN get you expensive fruit/tree seeds for cheap. If you resell you can make loads of profit, just remember to reinvest! :) Farming/Firemaking combination As said before, if you put 100% on maples, you get 1 bird's nest for every 100 maples. That can get you some rare seeds for cheap (up to and including spirit seeds). This is the most common use of KM. This is an inexpensive way to rack up potential farming and firemaking experience. A lot of farmers just sell the maples to buy more seeds, like myself. If you choose to put flax or herb collecting, you'll get herb seeds. I've never really done this. One time I did get a snapdragon seed when I put my remaining 5 points in flax. Herblore Not too sure of how effective this is, but I suppose it's worth a shot considering how expensive herblore is. Fletching/Crafting You can get a nice supply of flax (in the thousands) from KM if you allocate your points to flax Construction/Farming I've always been scared to try this because I'm not too big of a fan of construction. Every 350 rare logs you get (teak or mahogany) you will get a nest. Smithing People who just want to smelt a bunch of bars don't want to mine all that coal just for one bar, for the most part, am I right? Well when you allocate 10 points to coal, you obviously are going to get some nice coal returns. I use this whenever I want to make some cannonballs or whatever.[/hide] Note: Will always be adding more content as well as adding any in-thread questions to a FAQ section.
  15. The only way to truly figure out which skill you enjoy the most is resort back to DIY training. You might find a resource skill that isn't monotonous to you. OR, if you want to know the most enjoyable 99 to train to, just do the most efficient training of each for about 20 minutes then switch. Farming is never monotonous because you just have to go to each patch every once in a while. Fishing and woodcutting can be enjoyable if you combine it with chatting and listening to music.
  16. That's your best bet. That is what I'm going to do since summoning is the only skill you HAVE to spend money on to level.
  17. That's your problem then mate. As I recall the Scarab uses Ranged attacks, not magic.
  18. And faster prayer XP. (BEST thing to kill for prayer... yet so highly underrated.)
  19. 1. Trade your pouches for shards south of Yanille. 2. Grow your toadflax and ranarr seeds (and sell for major profit). 3. Alch your spare addy and mith stuff.
  20. I sort of agree since the XP output is so freakin' slow. Probably one of the most difficult skills to train. The #1 runecrafter disgusts me. He's crafted more than 7 million rune essence. :( He has a lot of free time on his hands.
  21. I personally use skill lamps on skills that, for the most part, cannot be trained efficiently for free like summoning and construction. I'm not a big fan of construction, so I reckon the best skill to use your lamps on is summoning. why prayer though? You can train it very very fast at a Gilded Altar, yea it costs a little for the Dragon bones or whatever you use... but I make like 3M a day merching so money doesn't really matter anyway lol Prayer can be easily trained for free in cooperation with combat training. An example is level 79 green dragons. Personally I do not enjoy slaying green dragons, and furthermore find teleing back and forth between ecto and CW bank boring. I don't like buying bones because that's a waste of cash. Let's take how many dragon bones would take 57-70 prayer. 1800 approximately. That's 288 XP per bone via ecto (most efficient because I had to kill all those dragons, so I'd rather get as many XP per possible per dragon). AND 300 combat XP per dragon. 540K Strength and 518.4K prayer XP. So the fact that my preferred way of training prayer is not what I enjoy, my prayer is only 57. :( Sadly.
