Thanks, dad. That post wasn't my idea, nor did I write the subject of it. I simply edited it to sound as big of a punk as I could, to illustrate my point, and my contradictions. I think as far as individual artists, we have gained alot, and gotten alot better. However, I will be selfish here. I don't think that the media board is the reason I have gotten better. Alot of the old DAG members have gotten better. But again, I wouldn't say that the media board is the cause, directly. Actually, the reason most of us got better, is because we LEFT the media board. We moved on to bigger and better things, and learned from ourselves. I think that here on the media board, following trends is good to a certain extent, but you can only take it so far. After that, you have to learn on your own. So in response to #2? I would say that yes it's good, but you have to go on farther with it, after that. Am I making any sense here?

Yeah, about 2 years after I made it. Another thing I forgot to comment on.... It kinda irks me when I see topics like FireFreeks dying so quickly. He is one of the few who actually posts good work on his topics. I am somewhat a reason to that, as I rarely respond. However that is usually due to the fact that I have nothing constructive to say. Then again, praise doesn't really hurt every now and then. I think he is the only one of us X-SMG/DAG still active, as far as consistently posting work goes... Oh, and if you notice LG (LowGravity - can I call you that?) I never post a numerical rating. If I don't have something constructive to say, I usually keep my mouth shut. Unless of course my attitude gets the better of me.

Just to clarify my stance: GreatSilverwyrm just asked me, so I figured I'd explain better... I'm not against pixel in anyway. ANY trend is positive. It makes people learn and get better at what they like to do. It also weeds out the people less successful at it. I was merely stating in my other topic that we aren't necessarily interested in the very first work of art someone does, because it usually isn't that great... Hope that helps. I'm all for pixel if it's done right. :)

You people have missed my point. A seperate topic for 1st time pixels are all fine and dandy... but that isn't what the objective. Hmmm... Let's re-read both of our posts. As from what I can see, I did not use a single cuss word the entire post. I read yours and you say "God damn." I don't have the luxury of humility. I'm too good for it. I find that I'm so smart that sometimes I don't know what to do with myself. I'm really liking the Hitler analogy. I even am working on the 'stache. Don't tell me how to conduct myself. If I want to tell somebody they suck, I'm going to do it. I don't need to lie to them about how good they are, when in fact they should just stick to what they do best, which obviously isn't art. I, for one, being an artist would much rather somebody tell me the truth about what they think, rather than try and make me feel better about myself. There was a time when this here media board actually had some good content. I look now on the topics being posted... and to be blunt, I am disgusted. People that posted here used to wait until they were actually somewhat talented before they posted. Those days seem to be long gone. Interesting topics have become over run by "MY F1RsT PixI attempT!!11" Let's be honest. Nobody cares about your first "pixi" attempt. You probably didn't do it right, and it probably looks like garbage. Do some research, get some better content, then try again. Oh, and while I'm at it; stop calling it PIXI. Think of it like bleeding... Blood is only red once it leaves the body. In the same way, the information stored by the vector program is vector inside the program. But as soon as you output that file as a useable media online, it comes raster; or, as soon as you cut yourself and bleed, it turns red. Unless of course it's an SWF or something similar to that; or you are in an oxygen-less environment. Have I lost you yet?

You can save your paths in PS and then export them to Illustrator... or save them in PS and open Illustrator and import them... however you wanna say it. :P Where do babies come from?
