Glory still gives you increased odds of gems while mining in F2P, I believe.

This was, by far, the greatest thing that has ever happened to me on Runescape. I can't even explain why it is so funny, but it is 5 AM, and this made my night. For the record, I am the one with the name completely blurred out on an alt account.

Actually I was arguing with my friend that December 10, 2007 made many people quit temporarily, but in the long run was a good decision. I just didn't think it was important to mention that.

Does anybody know how many people play Runescape now, compared to say pre-December 10, 2007? I am really interested in knowing. If anyway knows how many played even earlier than that, that would also be helpful. Thanks, Scooter

Recently, a friend of mine and myself were having an argument about the effects of protection prayers. Here is the story: He was pking in a Bounty Hunter world and was apparently risking quite a bit (by my standards, over 70m). He was fighting someone who was using full void, a rune bow, and dragon bolts. He was KO'ed by a hit near 600 (not sure of the exact hit), despite the fact that he was using the Protect from Missiles prayer. Now when I first heard this story, my reaction was to tell him that the Protect from Prayers don't stop damage from hitting you, it only reduces the chance of the attack actually hitting, exactly like defense. He argues that it in fact does lower the damage you take from hits, and that this in fact was a "glitch" in the game, because with his Prayer, the player would have had to hit approximately 840 (600 X .4 = 240, 240 + 600 = 840), which he and I both agreed, was not possible with the gear being used. I didn't a small amount of research and came across this on Runescape.com's manual: Of course this made my jaw drop. In my 5+ years of playing RS, I always thought Protect From Prayers had the same effect as defense. So I now ask you TIFers, are the Protect From Prayers absorbing our hits, or are they simply lessening the chance of us hitting? tl'dr Do Protect From Prayers reduce our chance of hitting, or reduce our damage dealt?

You mean abbyssal worm monsters from final fantasy that were ripped off More like they were ripped from GuildWars. They behave almost EXACTLY the same as the ones in GuildWars. Giant worms coming out of the ground. Its not something thats original no matter who did it.

Seems to me Jagex is really trying to get people into Mini-Games. They included Castle Wars into their Ardounge Diary, they made a quest that revolves around Soul Wars, now they make a staff that has an ability that stacks with FOG rewards, and they Fight Caves a requirement for Desertwyrms. edit: They also updated BA.

Sorry that I haven't replied or anything recently, but I have been toying around and found out my CPU usage was at 100%, I terminated some unneeded processes, and RS is running fine. Thanks for all the help, even though your advice wasn't the problem, my PC is running more smoothly because of it. Thanks Tip.It!

Well I scanned my computer, and got rid of several hundred "problems", but RS still won't work. I deleted my cache, and nothing has changed. I do not have Vista 64, I have XP, so that isn't the problem.

I have recently been having troubles loading RS, and I have followed ever step on RS.com to help fix the problem, but it has been to no avail. What happens, is that, when I click to play, it loads the advertisement, but it won't load anything after that. The screen just goes black. I have tried numerous things to fix this, such as: 1. Restating my computer 2. Updating Java 3. Updating Firefox 4. Uninstalling, and reinstalling Java 5. Using Opera Now I am no computer genius, so I have no idea what the problem is, but if anyone here can help determine it, I would be greatly obliged. The reason I posted this on Tip.it, rather than the RS Forums is because I am a nonmember. Thanks in advance for the help!
