  1. Russia asks that British naval bombardment target military targets instead of coastal cities.

Well the "female" gene could be recessive, so you'd only have one in four become female. No inbreeding required. :P Lichtens use unique kinds of "biological" weaponary to supplement the standard guns and stuff. Like jellyfish stingray whips. :D ----- I don't want to get near the Goauld-Jaffa relationship of Stargate. :)

Males and females aren't actually different sexes. They reproduce sexually, but it can be between any two members of the species. It's more of a caste system, but seemed easier to explain through genders. As for simple weapons, I mean like "push the red button and point at enemy." Males couldn't operate more complicated machinery and such. No battleships for them!

Oh Archi, if you missed it, I put my implausible version of Lichtens above. Ich denke, dass es sehr gut ist, ja?

Mather: I have just built this bacteria computer thingy! Retech: Where is it? Mather: You're standing on it! It is more powerful than your puny AMD Phenom Triple Core processor several million times over! Retech: Uh yeah, cool. That means it could run my total war games, right? Mather: With this much processing power, definitely! Retech: The game only works with Windows XP. Is that alright? Mather: I think so. Retech: So where does the CD go? Mather: Just drop it somewhere and I'm sure it can read it. Retech: ...

Okay, I am changing my race around. Humanoid Plant Creatures, capable of forming and deforming a resin-like exoskeleton to walk on land, though they cannot feed in this state and lose much of their strength. Underwater, they pump huge amounts of water through osmosis to push their limbs one way or another, allowing them to lift decently heavy objects. The males have much larger pores and a greater surface area, allowing for greater strength, but the size of their pores allows large particles inside. Male pores are less developed than female pores, meaning males are far more succeptable to pathogens and chemical pollutants (below average) while females are less succeptable (above average). The Lichtens were created by an unknown alien empire, splicing the genes of the native super-intelligent, psionic jelly fish and the resinous kelp invasive species, which swayed in and against the currents through the osmosis in order to manuever to the best position for mating and nutrient gathering, to create a breed of super soldiers. They also inserted several genes to limit the psionic and intelligent capabilities of the jellyfish, as they only intended the intelligence for basic functions. The supressed brain power went into the sub-conscious and created a strong kelp-warrior with fast reflexes, the Lichten male. Unfortunately, as the alien empire waned and the jellyfish went extinct (the aliens had strong anti-psionic capabilities and technologies), a few of the remaining Lichten males began having mutations, blocking the effects of the [developmentally delayed]ing gene. These became Lichten females, which soon dominated the rest of the Lichtens. As all Lichtens released spores, only some with the "female" gene became part of the ruling class. Recently, the Lichtens have expanded beyond their ocean homes and made settlements on land, primarily using exosuits to move around. The exosuits are primarily used simply to move instead of super strength, and protect vital areas. Advantages Lichten females are strongly psionic and above average in intelligence (IQ 130 or so for average, much degraded from the jellyfish because artificial selection didn't favor intelligence after the race was formed) Lichten females have above average resistance to pathogens, chemicals, and pollutants. As plant-jellyfish, their only vital organ is their brain (which happens to look like a jellyfish). Lichten males are relatively strong and have fast reflexes Lichtens use kelp architecture (same as before) Lichten bioships carry 25% more of everything and Lichtens can deploy 25% more soldiers per development (2500 instead of 2000) Disadvantages Lichtens aren't very strong on average. Lichten males are succeptable to psionic attacks. Must consume both nutrients from water/soil and live animals (for kelp and carnivorous jellyfish). Lichten bioships must be upgraded in their own line, rather slowly. Lichten shipbuilders cannot use other materials effectively. Lichtens use kelp architecture Males are succeptable to pollutants and pathogens Lichtens use rather simple weaponary ----- For the history of the jellyfish, they formed large societies to hunt much larger creatures. An example would be to overpower the mind of a dolphin group to confuse it, before moving in a ring pattern to surround and sting.

  8. I've reached a new personal record in Halo today! 266 kills and 11 deaths in a Sniper-Pistol Map. There was infinite ammo and no reload, removing the main weakness for the sniper (only 4 bullets a pop). At the beginning of the game, I led the charge against a hail of sniper bullets, avoiding them all and shooting down over twenty of the enemy soldiers before succumbing to a headshot. By then reinforcements had arrived, and our snipers had sufficient time (due to my reckless charge) to position themselves in the best spots. The enemy never recovered from that... In the next game, all the good people were on the other team, and despite my efforts, I could not survive all of the sniper bullets.

Okay, it seems that my vision for a race would be better served if I made them into plant people. I'll write something up, probaly tonight.

    Right.

I have an explanation now! Female Lichtens are very strongly psionic (10% of the population), allowing them to easily manipulate male Lichtens (90% of the population). Other than that, societally I can think of no other reason. Oh Archi, did you read through my race?
  12. I'm sure the watched pot does boil, but I never have the patience to stare at it long enough. Dusty, can I have bear calvary armed with carbiners and sabres? I am Russia after all. :P

  14. I can micromanage for you, and you can just be the king or something. "Attack blah blah blah! I demand so and so be executed!" Then you could focus on the nuances of being king and I'll just follow your orders. "Put money to make an army!" Then I'll make a reasonable army.
  15. Ross and Earth, why don't you play some Napoleanic Hegemony? You both have countries which aren't being attended to!
  16. I said that I found it while browsing the web. No need for him to know I've played countless forum games involving adventurers or nations sending millions at each other.
  17. I sent Archi's thing to my old Social studies teacher.
  18. Where did you get that Archi? I
  19. Announcing the World's Fair, celebrating technological innovation and the exquisite culture of Europe. It will be held in a new part of Saint Petersburg, where each nation will have the chance to set up its own exhibit, showing its unique culture and cuisine. This is not a political event, and no soldiers will be allowed (except for maybe ten "show" soldiers or something). The event will take place in the 1790s, probaly around 1795.
  20. Could we know what the battle report is about?
  21. Oh, that's okay. I was going to make a new defensive posture, but assuming I'm not being attacked, no harm.
  22. What happened with my forces?
  23. I thought the battle was supposed to be yesterday. Also, I think they're on a campaign, which is why they probaly won't reset.
  24. I dunno what that means.
  25. The crossed out stuff was mainly random rants about how mines were overpowered and stuff. It's okay now, since I've already agreed not to attack Archi.
