  1. Besides, if Napolean steamrolls through Europe, not really my problem.
  2. Russia is rather surprised at the French revolutionaries' new doctrine, advocating the overthrow of the monarchy. It replies that monarchy is a necessary part of the government. The monarchy is a force for the greater good when used to further the interests of its citizens. Revolution should be focused on the welfare of the peasants, not necessarily a change in the upper classes. Despite this, Russia pledges to remain neutral, as supporting the monarchy and nobility against the peasantry and supporting the peasantry in overthrowing the monarchy are both against Imperial Russian doctrine.
  3. I never said that I was going to be dealing with the revolution in a bad way. What if Russia was worried that the revolution was going to be crushed by the Prussians, pressuring the French government to improve the lives of the peasantry, or allow the Russians to do that for them? Just a hypothetical. Twas supposed to be a joke. I haven't the will or a way to send a huge army through the Holy Roman Empire and Poland into France.
  4. I think Ross was talking about Picture Dungeoneering. :)
  5. It went a little slow.
  6. Russia is getting increasingly worried about revolution in France and is making strong overtures to the French Government to react now or 'allow' a Russian Brigade to deal with this problem.
  7. Idealism is fine, but I'm more concerned about the legal realities of it. Assuming that the court was omnicient and had all the facts about a case. Where would we draw the line between a strained relationship and an abusive one? How would you measure it?
  8. How would you prove that someone was verbally or emotionally abusive? Even in the United States, the reported rape cases are probaly much lower than the rapes that actually happen. This is something we can actually find evidence for, with rape kits. Even then, a large portion of rape cases are thrown out of court because there is insufficient evidence. Now we're moving to verbal abuse. There is little to no evidence that can be presented, except for eyewitnesses and perhaps psychologists. In rape cases, this can be done as well, but the conviction rate is still low. We take out any possibility of physical evidence of any kind, and make the event much more common. The jury would probaly either convict many innocent people or throw legitimate cases out of court left and right. Either solution would be detrimental, because to put things in the field of the law means that people will try to take advantage of it.
  9. So aside from your philosophical standpoint, what is your legal standpoint?
  10. I just dropped the five, for convenience. Also Nex, how does that pertain to emotional and verbal abuse, or mathematically calculating punishments?
  11. Each other, as in player countries?
  12. If exiling treasonous nobles is perfectly fine, then I will send an ambassador to the conference. :) Russia proposes total ban of chemical weapons.
  13. They should do it mathematically. Find some sort of average of beatings per day in an abusive relationship, and prosecute accordingly. For example, if there is an average of 0.1 beatings per day in an average abusive relationship. The relationship lasts for a year, and is proven abusive. Therefore, the person would be prosecuted for 36 counts of assualt.
  14. Does this conference ban conventional weaponary, which someone might not think is banned by the conference?
  15. This is a terrible treaty. I propose the treaty of Saint Petersburg. Edel withdraws from Australia and a sixteen year ceasefire. -Sticks Russian brand name all over treaty- Come, sign here! The paper is made from Russian materials, the quill is from a Russian swan, and the ink is from a Russian plant!
  16. Does that count? It was during our discussion about how to stay up with the rest of the world.
  17. Option B. Was I supposed to PM my research from last budget? Or did they just fail to produce any outcomes.
  18. It is time for war! Time to declare war on every single suspect that I have, and hope that we figure a way out of this debacle!
  19. It's okay. :)
  20. I'm not really the person to pull off ridiculous stunts. Anyone else fit that bill?
  21. Czarina Catherine waits for an apology from the English King for his hasty condemnation of her enlightened rule.
  22. Note that it states that it was Russian Nobility, and that I don't have any control over the nobles anymore. As I recall, you were the one who invited them to England. ----- Now that I think about it, this seems like one of Archi's plans.
  23. Perhaps you could hire a scribe that could dictate your words as you lounge comfortably in a recliner, drinking a cold beverage.
  24. YOU MINED THE BALTIC?!?!?!??!?!?!? Lots of Baltic countries start getting pissed.
  25. Has Dusty approved a landmine field? Also, that's why no one posts on the thread. Apparantly you can react to something right away.
