Ye Olde Hegemony
Yes, I will do an update early afternoon, then you get your budgets. Then after that I will have another report in the evening.

Pirates!
Maybe I should've realized that this was using a Dungeoneering system, and that everyone starts with crappy stats. I was under the impression that my character was the best female swordsfighter in a swordfighting elven village, so I thought that these pirates would be chumps. Otherwise I would've done my usual tactic. Get my allies to go in first, then jump along. :P Oh well, at least dying isn't that bad.

Pirates!
Isabel takes a nice cozy sleep on the cannon (night Icu! Good job moderating.)
-
Pirates!
Isabella takes advantage of the cramped space and fights the pirates one by one as they come at her, taking advantage of her dexterity to attack one of the pirates even before they get in range to attack her.
-
Pirates!
(The going crazy refers to Grim?) Isabel gestures for the other people to come onto the ship, before looking around. If there aren't pirates near her, she quickly covers her wound with her heavy robe. Regardless, she asks the two crew mates to come with her. Then she charges below deck to try to find the cannons, while hacking anyone in the way. (Sorry for asking, but any swordsmanry experience for this awesome fight? :P)

The real old-fashion Byzantine Cataphracts decked in full armor would cost 1500. Equites, probaly around 600.
-
Pirates!
Isabel takes a large sweep with her two handed sword in a sideways S motion. Thankfully for her, the sword was still really light, so hopefully her arm won't matter too much. Then she tries to press the advantage of her lighter and faster sword, hopefully driving them back. Meanwhile she is yelling to try to get her allies to come along too.

Pirates!
Isabel looks around the ship, before slashing any enemies she can with her awesome two handed elven sword, which is very light. :P Then she yells for her fellow crew people's to come along.

Well there are hobilars, which are basically light calvery with leather armor and a simple spear, as well as a small round shield. Then there are cataphracts, and camels, and equites (from the Roman days, but they are just better trained versions of hobilars). Also war elephants if those count... :D

Pirates!
Isabella waits until her ship and the enemy ship are right next to each other, before grappling across.

Knights are free, and you can usually get 1k-2k without much of a problem. However, when you want to mount a major military campaign and you want to get more, the best bet is to beg the nobles to give you some more. Usually giving them convincing reasons, or bribing them with more power in the government or control of the conquered land will do the trick. Unique units are basically regular units, but you describe it to be. There are some that require some investment (say if you wanted ninjas, you couldn't just have ninjas right away), but the regular unique units are pretty much like regular units. Then you discuss with me what you think its strengths and weaknesses should be, and their cost.

Pirates!
Isabel looks into the distance, trying to spot if the cannonfire was coming from the shore or from a ship. Then she wishes good luck to the other men, and hunkers down.
-
Pirates!
Isabel looks for birds in the sky, to indicate that they were nearing land. Then she grabs her sword and does some warm ups, in preparation for the fight ahead.
-
Pirates!
Isabel practices throwing the grapple at a target in her cabin, then practices outside on the ship, as she hasn't really done it before.
-
Pirates!
Isabel checks her compass and compares it to how it was before, to see which direction they are traveling, for future reference. Then she looks around for a grapple/rope thingy.
-
Pirates!
Isabel tucks her self into her cabin, where she makes sure that the pommel guard is in place, so that her blade wouldn't look too shiny. Then she practices with her sword in her cabin to reacquant herself with it, since it's been a bit since she's used it last. The sword was light enough to be a one-handed sword, but the special design of the blade, elven in origin, allowed the wielder to use the sword as an offensive and defensive weapon at the same time, as well as using it to trip and to do other fun things.
-
Pirates!
Isabel comes aboard and greets all her fellow sailors. Then she searches around for some more appropriate clothing, like leather vests or armoured cloaks. Afterwards, she waits until the ship encounters anything interesting.

Balearic Islands As the wearied party of Leon journeyed to the Balearic islands, they made a stunning discovery. There was a small tribe of "heathans", who practiced a strange religion. To praise their god, they killed all the male children at the age of two. As those children could not copulate before the age of two, the population soon dwindled. Currently the village is all female, and only managed to survive due to visiting merchants. Naturally the explorers took the island for Leon.

Pirates!
"I'd be happy to fight the enemy for free, but what would the pay for the position be?" Then Isabel heads to the ship, where she asks if she could have some leather armor, or whatever the standard issue is.
-
Pirates!
"So have I proved myself yet? I'm sure you are a better swordsman than I, but am I worthy to go to war?" Isabel tries to be as courteous as possible, allowing the uniformed officer to allow her on the ship, yet still keep his pride and "manliness". If he won't let her yet, she spars with him some more, before diving in and going for his throat.
-
Pirates!
Isabel attempts to feint getting her balance, before diving in further and slashing the man's arm as he charges forward to attack her.
-
Pirates!
Isabel takes her position on the duelling place (if there is one), then makes an agile step using her elven dexterity towards the officers, ducking under his blade and holding the wooden sword at his throat.
-
Pirates!
"I am not being there to be a woman. I want to be there because I want to figth for the kingdom. My sword is as valuable in a fight as any man, and you can't possibly refuse me because I have a woman. Of course, no one even needs to know whether I was a woman or not." Then Isabel deepens her voice, to prove she can perfectly imitate a man.
-
Pirates!
Isabel waits in line, carefully concealing herself with her cloak. After she reaches the man in uniform, she says quietly, "I would like to join the military, good sir."
-
Pirates!
"Hmmm, I will be back later for my night's rest. I have some business to attend to. If I do not return, consider the coins a gift." Isabel flashes a smile, before walking out the door. Then she searches for a recruiter.
