My space fleet is transporting soldiers to each of my colonies, numbering in the millions. Specific details will follow. [hide=Today's Progress] [hide=Capiahs] System: Capiah - Planet: Capiah 1 and 2 (same stats) Distance: 175,000,000 km Radius: 8,000 Gravity: 1.3 G Orbit Period: 390 days Rotation: 22.8 hrs Mean Temp: 18 C Atmosphere: 1.2 ATM (N2 73%, O2 26%, Ar 1%,) Hospitable Population: 3,000,000,000 Moons: None About it: Capiah is the most established colony besides that of Japan on Earth. With a quickly expanding population and abundant species of kelp, the settlers are thriving. The relatively large amount of land is still mostly unused, aside from defences, but future uses could be found. Military: Transports currently heading to Capiah: [/hide] [hide=Erikio] System: Recea Decimus - Planet: Erikio Distance: 500,000,000 km Radius: 18,000 km Gravity: 2 G Orbit Period: 747 days Rotation: 18 hrs Mean Temp: 20 C (really hot on the surface, cool in the oceans) Atmosphere: 2 atm (N 58 %, O2 28%, Ar 2%, Carbon Dioxide 12%) Hospitable Population: 22,000,000,000 Moons: None Erikio is the seat of the Lichtes government and homeworld to most of its people. Skyscrapers exist that are taller than almost any structure on Earth, mainly because the buoyancy that the water provides. It is covered by 99% water, with the land harnessed to grow luxury food crops, meat, and defensive installations. Military: Regulars: 25,000,000 Heavy Battleships: LDS Sturgeon, LDS Sea king, LDS Fried Fish, LDS Wavebreaker, LDS Manta Line(1 per turn) Battleships: 25 (5 a turn) Fighters: 250 (50 a turn) Transports: 0 (100 a day) [/hide] [hide=Meoxo] System: Meoxo - Planet: New Erikio (Replaces aquatic) Distance: 160,000,000 km Radius: 7500 km Gravity: 1.1G Orbit Period: 385 days Rotation: 22.9 hrs Mean Temp: 287K/17C Atmosphere: 1 atm (N2 78%, O2 21%, Ar 1%) Hospitable Population: 10,00,000,000 Moons: None -- New Erikio has quickly been upgraded into a full scale military base. Massive underground tunnels snake through the continental shelf and deeper into the sea crust. The majority of Lichtes citizens live here, sheltered from infectious viruses and invading aliens by the limitless fortifications and defences. This is a major Iridium monopole mining base. Deep within the tunnels, the worst of society (over 200 million) trudge down into the mines to get as much Iridium ion as they can. The ones that give above average get a comfortable bed for the night, while those below average can either go back to their homes or go down to get more Iridium to get a bed. Military: Regulars: 100,000 Heavy battleships: Battleships: 6 (2 per turn) Fighters: 40 (10 per turn) Transports: 0 (100 per turn) Transports currently heading to Erikio: [/hide] [hide=Technology in progress] Name: Coilguns Completion Date: December 20th Effects: Uses monopoles to power a gun which has little to no recoil Name: Scram Cannon Completion Date: Christmas! Effects: Uses Kinetic energy and supersonic combustion to launch a projectile as far as other weapons without the complexity. [/hide] [hide=Constructions] Name: Sector E battlestation Completion Date: December 7th Effects: Helps defend Japan from space attacks Name: Earth to Space Artillery Batteries Completion Date: December 7th Effects: Massive Artillery and Flak installations are built on land and flotation devices on sea. The ones on land often have a tunnel that goes down into the main tunnels, but these are sealed except during peacetime. Though the projectiles cannot aim straight (due to the winds), the massive amounts of artillery flying through the air and the expanse of their fleet makes it easy to hit. If the enemy begins to land, then it will be far easier to hit them. Name: Sector VI battlestations Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Colonizes Capiah VI Name: Sector VII battlestations Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Colonized Capiah VII Name: Sector Capital battlestation Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Protects Erikio Name: Royal Engineering school of Erikio Competion Date: December 1st Effects: Increase production of engineers, speeds up spacefleet construction and design Name: Lichtes Embassy in Kyoto, Japan Completion Date: December 1st Effects: None, just housing for royal officials Name: Sector O Bunker Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Hides up to 50 million people in a defensive location with filtration and food Name: Advanced tunnel fortifications and life support Completion Date: First Phase, December 1st (Ongoing) Effects: Increases time Japan can withstand siege, increases defence bonus slightly Name: Advanced Tunnel fortification and life support systems Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Provides housing, food, and supplies in the event of a virus attack Name: LDS Ocean Trench Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Super battleship Name: LDS Manta Ray Completion Date: December 1st Effects: Super battleship Name: Sector T Battlestation Completion Date: Ongoing Effects: Colonizes Ekedou 4 [/hide] [hide=Standing Army] Regulars: ~200,000,000 (Possible 1 billion+ availible to be conscripted) Whale Class Ultra Battleship (Elite): 1 SeaCow Class Ultra Battleship: 7 Manta Ray Class Super Battleship: 5 Kelp Class Heavy Battleship: 0 Wave Class Battleship: 0 Plankton Class Fighters: 0 Sea Bottom Class Artillery Battleship: 0 Transports: 800 PP: 15,000 per turn Capiah 1: 500 Capiah 2: 500 Capiah 6: 500 Capiah 7: 500 Erikio: 500 New Erikio: 9,000 (10 land production stations, 40 space) Other planet (Strange material shared with Dusty): 500 Arctic Planet: (In Mather's system): 500 Ekedou 1: 500 Ekedou 2: 500 Ekedou 3: 500 Ekedou 4: 500 Mather's 2 home systems where he let me colonize the sea: 1,000 PP remaining: Built over 2 turns: -Several Space Production Stations -10 SeaCow class Ultra Battleships [/hide] [/hide]

I might have an entry on that.

Well of course you'd have an advantage at shooting; a machine can stay perfectly still much easier than a biological race.

Ridiculous bonuses in water events! :)

And I have a feeling that the events involving water will become Lichten victories. Mwahahahahahahahaha

Tavern Tussle
You have some good kids.

Two things: 1. Exosuits? I thought this was about the athleticism of your race (humans). 2. I thought it was agreed that we had a FTL travel, and that no one could go faster. 3. Holy Crap Ross, those prototype drones must be strong. 4. Ooops, I went 2 over. :)

Yep, I'm entering someone in gymnastics, but it's not going to be pretty. One mistake and bam, the person's bones split in half (well cartilage, but basically the effect is that only skin and muscle is holding them together). They're also not that agile on land, but they're decently fast.

You said you would win in diving :P

Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
Hmmm, I wonder who would win in an aquatic competition, a species of amphibians with GILLS and surprising grace (lots of them do water ballet) or a species of land dwellers. I can safely tell you the amphibians would win, as they are actually designed for swimming, can swim up to 60 mph, and don't need to come up to breathe (lots of friction happens because the swimmer is above the water). ------ I wonder who is going to win the swimming competition for GM 10 km and 20 km. Oh btw Archi, I think Mather should get a 5 second penalty on all his scores, since he's competing with twice as many athletes. :)

I thought a warp drive was one that bent space time such that the spaceship doesn't move at all, but the spacetime warps from the front of the ship to behind the ship, so basically the universe is moving in a sense, rather than the ship.

Don't you have some Duna? Also, how long has it been since the Duna-planets have been open.
-
Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
With Duna and this gravity well thingy, it can be cut down to almost nil

I'll contribute a team of my finest scientists (1,000), a research lab, and some life support (grows kelp for the scientists, and a nice fish tank with live manta ray for eating)

I am interested, but I have to ask a few questions first. 1. I control Capiah and Meoxo; who controls the other two planets? 2. Who will control this area of space once research is completed? 3. Will this research be allowed? If I can be assured of a few things, then I'll send thousands of scientists to construct a research center. It'll be like the international space station, with parts preferably made from different countries.

I'm going to compete in all the events even though my people can't ride horses or bicycles. I'll probaly win all of the in-water events and maybe some of the above water events.

Few questions: can you include syncro swimming? Also, does it count as sailing if you're using the ocean currents in a sub? :) For equestrian, maybe we can use other creatures? *hints for dolphins*

My people have competed in Olympics since the dawn of time (at least when there wasn't a war). Of course, the only events were syncronised swimming and the dashes. The event was often capped with an "around the world" swim, which lasted for several weeks. Since my planet was much larger, more than half the contestants either gave up and settled down where they failed, or died. Any swimming event should be a piece of cake. :)

Grim, wouldn't that mess up the ozone layer/toss up thousands of tons of dust into the air, blocking out the sun? Nanites, that hardly seems fair. :) -------------- I'm sending some scientists to aid in the construction of the swimming based events. My people have a specialty in that, so they know how to keep water clean without chlorine and other advantageos pool keeping things. To Archi, it might be fun if you did. Just make it loose, since it's not really too important. Just a fun little diversion. :)

Since Earth is a land from which most empires originated in, I will be constructing a megadome underwater stadium in the seas of Japan. Contestants will participate in events in land-simulated rooms. They enter through submarines bearing their nation's colors. The swimming event will take place in a natural enviroment, with an "around-the-world" race planned. Upon their return (assuming they return), they will be treated to a feast of the oldest most delicious fish in the sea, prepared by fine sushi chefs on a kelp plate. To Dusty, I would like to host the next games. :) --------- They have to be brainwashed. No matter how experienced they are, they can't distinguish friend and foe unless it's between "gill people with funny outfits and rubber people with tubies".
-
Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
Oh yes, and they can also do water ballet. They're surprising graceful for 200-pound beasts made of cartilage.
-
Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
My people have one thing over your people Dusty. They are faster at swimming, and they like German Opera. Aha, the tables are turned! --- I am sending a squad of 400 of my finest soldiers which have been brainwashed to do your whim Dusty. Consider it as a sign of goodwill. You can dissect them if you want, but they're good amphibious guardsmen.

Hegemony-V2 begins page 302
Ooooh, my people would like to enter as well. A few things about them: 1. They can swim up to 60 mph for short durations of time 2. They can maintain 40 mph for long distances 3. They have a top speed equal to that of humans on land, but they have much less endurance (without water pacs, which I'm not sure are allowed) 4. Most kelp contains a chemical which is processed by the body to create a testosterone-like substance in the body, much like a steroid. It is also the reason why the heart functions (the heart needs to pump blood really fast) and why men are so stupid. Females create a different substance out of the same chemical which make them leaner (lean strong, not muscular strong), and it improves brain function (much like why eating Salmon is good for you).

Oh yes, on Earth. My scientists will begin experimenting with the bread to genetically modify it so my people aren't allergic to it. The bread will be used as a crust for deep-fried seafood. As a sign of thanks, the first catch of the week, a 300 year old Manta ray caught near the ocean bottom, has been prepared by chefs to create hundreds of pieces of the finest Sashimi, fit for the royal family.
