Rivers Run Red
Actually, that was completely unrelated in regards to the duel. It was actually triggered when he said that he was going to randomly betray and murder me to steal my stuff (which was somewhat justified at the time), because he thought that since it was my idea for the attack on the fortress, then I should have to pay the party expenditures that we incurred when we were defeated. So instead, I challenged him to a duel to ensure a fair fight, rather than a backstab. If being told that one was going to be backstabbed at anytime by a chaotic rogue is not a fair reason for anyone save the most lawful good paladin to duel, then I don't now what is. It wasn't related to how strong or optimized characters were at all. I wasn't given much support by the party to stop the backstabbing at all, so I took it into my own hands.

I think what Nex was referring to and what I was referring to was the bit on duelling. Hey Nex, if you make a windows live account, I can help you out with your fighter if you'd like. Usually I can find what you're looking for (say you wanted a feat that could do a certain thing, then I could figure it out).

Rivers Run Red
Oh, just for the record, there is no reason to duel during a session anymore, so no need to waste any time on it.
-
Rivers Run Red
I think that's fair, Grim. Nex, I think you misunderstand. He isn't giving probation now, but giving a few strikes for previous wrongful or annoying actions. It seems unlikely that you will make another issue, so it shouldn't be much of a problem. However in the future, could you give some warning?

Rivers Run Red
Well the default weapon focus and specialization are decent. Combat reflexes gets interesting too.

Rivers Run Red
It seems like you're all set already. I don't think that you can afford it though, unless someone has craft magic armor and weapons.
-
Rivers Run Red
Okay, what kind of player are you? Do you prefer combat manuevers like tripping and stuff, or are you more of direct damage dealer? And do you have a specific class in mind?

Rivers Run Red
I think that this is more of a case of RAW vs RAI, seeing as shurikens are treated as ammunition for basically every important thing (specifically the breakage, which affects the price most).
-
Rivers Run Red
Well it's stated in the magic weapons rules that the price for the enchantments are for fifty pieces of ammunition. EDIT: Wait, misread. Looking for it though
-
Rivers Run Red
Theoretically it seems affordable, but there isn't much a point of a magical uber weapon that can only be used once (and isn't really uber).

I removed my intelligent weapon and big weapon ape? I've basically removed optimization except for the allocation of attributes and the managing of feats, so I think my character is definitely not breaking the game anymore. If a character relies on house rules and stuff to work, it's not really a DnD character. I'm sure there's a way to keep your character concept while using the actual rules, such as last resort weaponary and stuff. The whole point is that the weapon is so cheap is because it is only one use. Otherwise, you'd have to pay 98,000 (or a bit more, depending on what the shadow enchantment is) to purchase this kind of weapon, which isn't really in our price ranges, or 49,000 if you could get Ross to make it for you, though I'm not sure he's capable. This is all assuming that we're using the rules and not GM fiat, but usually Grim doesn't do that kind of thing.

It's in the third party class section, right below artificer I believe. ---- Nex, Shurikens can't really be returning. They are destroyed after they hit. It states that although they are thrown weapons, they are treated as ammunition for things like "what happens after they hit." Ammunition is destroyed after it is hit. What is the shadow enchantment? http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/weapon-descriptions/ammunition/ammunition-thrown-shuriken

Changed to the priest class. Basically cleric, but it doesn't get as many armor proficiencies and has a lower hit dice, but gives more skill points and the knowledge domain, as well as an extra domain spell slot. So prepared for any knowledge skill check that comes along. :)

It's like the simulations from last game.

Icu is correct. Economically, there is no incentive from mining from the asteroids and planetary bodies compared to bore mining. And it's harder to defend against.

Hasn't Allison taught you not to use repeated adjectives in the same paragraph yet? It's blasphemy!
-

Exactly. He was just a loyal crewmember, so when I ordered him, he came right away after asking the obligatory "Huh? What's going on? Where should I go?" kind of questions.

Rivers Run Red
Well I just read through all of the rules about situations where someone could lose their dexterity bonus to AC, and I didn't see any mention of a stealth attack. It's more that it is up to you to find a passage that suggests that stealth attacks mean the opponent is flatfooted, even if they are already reacting and in combat. I had to chase around a lot of links to defend myself on rules questions, so maybe you could go and look for it? I'm rather sleepy and I have a lot of projects to finish up for Wednesday.

Rivers Run Red
You can get sneak attacks from either flanking or when they lose their dexterity bonus to AC (which includes being flatfooted). I'm not familliar with the rules on attacks coming out of stealth (it may very well be possible that they are not flatfooted if they are already in combat), but usually if you even get to make a sneak attack, then they are flatfooted or have lost their dexterity bonus to AC in some other way. Unless you were basing the sneak attacks off flanking. :P You can lose dex bonus to AC from: Blinded Cowering Flatfooted Stunned Yeah, I'm pretty sure that it doesn't matter if it stealthed or not, as long as they have not made their first action in combat. If the rest of us are charging in as maniacs, except for flanking, I think you're out of luck. EDIT: Are you a rogue?
-
Rivers Run Red
Seems that you're awefully prepared. Nex, what do you mean by stealth attacks?

*Cough* I solved three of the four problems on the puzzle. Vasily solved the last one and got the credit. :P

Rivers Run Red
Well, you could always bring along a few cold iron and silver weapons, along with a regular repertoire of items. It's probably unlikely that we'll face a wierd monster every time, so if you got regular items too, then you could contribute all the time. Also, I couldn't find a chariot, so I might just ride on a wagon.

If you enjoy playing it, then make it. At this moment, I think that people are just making whatever they enjoy, so make whatever you enjoy. :) ^ Probably not the answer you were specifically looking for.

Rivers Run Red
Thanks Grim. If I can't find anything specific, it basically boils down to this: why would a large snake not be able to grab something with its bite and not smell things well, while a smaller snake would be even better at grabbing and smelling? I will try to look through the Pathfinder FAQ and contact Paizo though.

Rivers Run Red
It makes no sense though. It is widely accepted that it didn't even need to be explicitly stated, because it was clear. Advancement only adds to a creature, unless specifically stated that it loses it. I have already emailed Paizo and am waiting for their reply, if they will send one. Using your interpretation of the rules, an advanced horse does not have an attack. The only reason that they list rake twice, for example, in the big cat statblock is because its damage was upgraded.
