  1. I will be playing three characters overall. One full nature, one full industry, and another full nature with fightings. Essentially I will use my first two and live in a location that I like, generally getting stronger. Meanwhile, my third will live in the city with you. Hence I will always have a secret safe location incase the city is attacked (So like I could sacrifice my character to save youz) and still help out on city projects.
  2. I was trying to figure out how to encourage public building projects, but the money in circulation wouldn't increase too fast due to the consumption of the bread and the efforts of the bank to buy back bread (selling seeds for instance).
  3. I know, but I was wondering how we would prevent forgery. Was the point of the bread that it could be eaten? And would we actually give out the bread or just keep an account of what bread the person has? I have come up with an idea for the bank already. What fun it will be to play as the Central bank, prodding the economy to maximum efficiency. :)
  4. Archi, what would happen when people figured out how to make bread and flood the market with bread? Since I have no school on Tuesday, I will likely head off to find a nice spot. If we decide not to settle there, I'll probaly create a new character for the actual town, but continue playing at my favored spot (which I don't think I'll be able to find near the town). So I can just play two windows. :)
  5. Naturally, each person can choose to be a specialist if they want. They'll have to trade what they have to get all the goods they need though. If they have what is needed, then they will make a good living and get all the stuff they need. If they don't, then they'll have to try to survive that way or change what they specialize in. Such is the beautiful nature of capitalism.
  6. Well Rocco and I seem to be pretty interested in having some water nearby. I will probaly search for a lake like before: convienience of a river without the danger of being next to one.
  7. I was only pointing out the arguments I had in regards to the flaws in your strategy, as you said. :) And I don't think I could handle playing three characters at once. --- I'm sure that some people like your idea, but aren't currently logged on *Archi*.
  8. Ya know that half the reason for people getting destroyed is because they have a mine. :)
  9. I will not share what I have unless it is of my own free will and would not join a village that would force it. I would cultivate my own crops to produce food for my profit and share a few high quality seeds so that others could establish their own fields. I would raise my own herd of livestock and donate any extra bulls if other people needed them, to have more offspring for their cattle. This was the reason why I left Falador in the first place. This additude that everything belongs to everyone. A community is weak when everyone does not work primarily for themselves, because no one has any motivation to work for everyone. They will still receive the benefit of other people's work, if they do not work. I'm sure at least a few others would agree with me on this. If we have differing opinions, then I have an idea. Those who wish to work for their own benefit and those who wish to work for the benefit of the town can still live in the same place, but those that want to work for themselves don't have to contribute goods to the town (not infrastructure and defence) but won't receive benefit from the town's goods. Naturally, we would still live nearby so we could still be together as a community. Honestly, the only thing that would really mandate work on the village would be infrastructure (communal buildings, roads) and the village wall. And of course village defence.
  10. No worries Resistance. Lots of us feel that way as well, hence why we kill each other in Hegemony rather than submit until the last of our armies have been destroyed and our lands mostly destroyed. Nex, I thought we were going more individualistic this time around. Anyone can specialize if they want, but if they want some sort of resource that another person possesses, then logically they would have to pay with their own specialist creation. The reason I left Falador was that I ended up providing most of the food for a while and never ended up doing much else, which I think you remember. Hence why I left with Doom to the island paradise! Personally I will share the early seeds that I obtain (after farming it then harvesting it, sharing some of the resulting seeds), as that would only benefit us all, since we can't possibly keep farming every seed that we receive from harvesting and it would be better just to give to each other for the short run. Of course I would also give food if someone was really starving and they were going to die or something. After a certain point, it makes sense for capitalism to come into effect and everyone trading for what they needed.
  11. They're regenerating the map, from what I can tell.
  12. Will do. Basically we've gone through several iterations of Dungeoneering, so many of the ideas carry over. It takes less than five minutes to see how it works. I dunno. I have a pretty specific idea of where I want to end up, so I might have to run there and set up a spot as soon as the game starts.
  13. It depends on the time. This morning, there were twice as many people from the US. Update on Falador: Almost all the cabins have decayed. Only Kemios' remains, in poor condition. Half the palisades have decayed as well.
  14. I dunno. Regardless I'm just going to be diving in and searching for the perfect lakeside spot with a cave. :D
  15. THE MAP IS SHUTTING DOWN! MAYBE IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! HUZZAH!
  16. Rocco, the reset hasn't happened yet. And the server crashed. I intend to be self-sustaining, making cheeses and sausages for personal consumption and trade. And mine as wells. Living like a dorf in a cave.
  17. Certainly. I need a place to fish. :)
  18. I don't think it has happened yet.
  19. I am searching for a nice lake-side area with a cave, where I can make cheeses and raise animals. And of course I'll have a lot of stuff in the cave. Not really too concerned about ores, since we could use ancestral worship for some metals. I just need a meat grinder. Retech-Doom island was really only big enough for both of us, because we only had so many trees and it was a pain to haul from the mainland. No problems Archi, since I can just trade food for stuff now, which won't be a pain because we're close. Better search far and wide for some wheat. :)
  20. I left Falador because I was spending all my time fishing because none of you would restock the granary. :P And there is an easy solution to the key problem: key alts!
  21. Glad to hear that you're still playing though. Night everyone.
  22. It'll be in good fun. Trial and error. :) I think that's why most of us play the game.
  23. It'll happen within the next day or two.
  24. I propose that we found a tavern town, with each person having their own house. Each person would have personal property, but of course we'd probaly help each other out. We could build a building called "The Tavern" as a meeting place/shared space.
  25. This is great. I can finally jump back into the game. :)
