There has been talk, which as far as I can tell has been repeatedly shot down by the company. Demon's Souls was my motivation for getting a PS3 as well. Had it for quite a while now, but I only play on and off because it takes a bit of commitment to do much. Still stuck on the 4th and 5th worlds, as well as the False King.

Hrm, Ross, do items like anvils falling from high altitudes injure what they land on in DF? Also, Stork, could you create a way to kill goblins solely with kittens?

Someone here must've heard of it. Perhaps it's not as good a topic for discussion as something like Halo or another FPS. The game is a bit difficult, the multiplayer impractical, and everything to know about the game is already well-documented. But I still like it, and according to Gamespot I'm not the only one. So I decided that a discussion and community thread was called for, however small it may be. Now, feel free to ask about anything you might not know or understand, or (in the case of the mods) lock this thread if noone's interested. Leave the flying lizard to me!

My GT is Sherwood42, though I hooked my PS3 back up for now. Didn't know the Xbox required pay for online services. Microsoft is, collectively speaking, completely idiotic.

Start with a stream, strip mine the world, open the floodgates into the magma sea. Or simply pour magma and water in an infinite stream through the gates of hell. But I'm partial to the obsidian mountain idea myself. Or perhaps you could build a giant military fortress, towering above the rest of the world and completely impenetrable by any means. Or you could create a meteor machine floating above the earth, an assembly line where rock shells are filled with magma and tossed down onto the puny mortals below. Or you could do the same thing with anvils.

Dwarf spartans? That is epic, even for you Ross. So, is that going to be the final stage of military training? If they want to eat, they have to do it at the gates of the underworld? You have the best fortress ever. I remember you mentioning something about your military forgoing swords and becoming even scarier, there was a picture but I never saw it. Do you still have that?

Damn. I sorta wanted to talk to someone about it. Oh, to hell with it. I'll tell you anyways, you don't have very much contact with Allison's crowd so rumors shouldn't spread far or fast. Then again, there is the frightening matter of your express uplink to the GGN. :blink:

I managed to somehow wedge a Ghost between two speeding Mongooses (Mongi?) and shoot it at super speed into the enemy base. I think it even killed a few people before hitting the wall and blowing up. I love Halo glitches. Also, is there anyone who might play the game with me? I'm only warrant officer two or something, and I can't add friends because of security settings if either of those things make a difference.

I mostly meant free games, MMOs and stuff. Alien Swarm, perhaps something like War of Legends. WE SHALL RULE THIS WORLD, PUNY MORTALS! Basically, anything where we can work together to further a goal. Maybe we should start H&H again? It was fun until the raiders came, and there are always precautions we can take.

Meh, the worst part with building a computer is waiting on all the parts. My current one is a custom me and my dad made using a frame and basic equipment from more than a decade ago as well as a top-of-the-line graphics card and motherboard. :thumbsup: Works like a charm, though everything I install is incapable of getting online without days of hassle. That would be due to the MASSIVE FIREWALL OF HACK PROTECTION (+20 to Disease Defense) that doesn't let anything in. Or out... :blink:

Hrmph. Apparently I'm a fair talent, for my league, at Free-For-All Slayer Pro. 25 kills, big kill streak, 1st place. :thumbsup: 'Course, not nearly as good at this as I am at BFBC2. Halo seems more "for fun" anyways.

Pitfall trap, hmph. That's a use for worthless dwarves as well, just toss a pickaxe in and drop 'em down to mine a hole to the center of the earth. Deep fried goblins, get yer deep fried goblins here. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone modded the core of the world in DF to be ice? Then, theoretically you could mine through the core and come out on the other side of the world. I wonder what would happen if you tried?

I'm sooo getting Crysis 2, Medal of Honor, and Black Ops. Anyone here have Reach?

I can do pretty much any FPS. I own BBC2 and MW2, and plan on getting Black Ops, mainly for the ballistic knife. I also have Demon's Souls, but co-op is difficult for that.

Earthsage, I once generated a world that was all volcano. I was sent by a fortress to go kill a hydra, and I just kept dying. On my tenth adventurer, something like five years later, the hydra had scars on literally every limb and a dagger permanently embedded in it's nostril. I can only imagine how that would have added to the fear factor when it attacks your village. :D
