Hegemony: A New World
So, when's tomorrow for you Dungeon? Also, why did you make lower rolls better? :( Heh, actually, I'm pretty happy with this. Also, does budget carry over? If not, I'll attempt to colonize that area once more and then call it immediately.

The Mansion
I'm ready. No combat in this, or just preferrably avoided? Also, kudos for attracting a new member ICU.

Hegemony: A New World
Hah, the gang's all here! I'm happy, this is a game worthy of uniting the forum. Anywho, I'd like to try claiming those colonies please. :)

(Okay, from now on you can ask to do essentially whatever you want. The more absurd and less traditionally magical the better. Just have a backup plan, as there is a fair chance either me or the dice will disagree with your attempt.) Draugen: The man breaks your grip and jumps back, slashing with his sword. The blow strikes you across the chest, though the wound is not deep. You scoop up your sword and flee into the darkness. As you leave the light behind your cuts begin to knit themselves shut, though one arm is still fairly weak. Tekrer: You struggle as hard as you can and manage to lash out with a fist, hitting the man in the stomach and winding him before he wrestles you to the ground. He ties your hands behind your back, then picks you up and leads you down the road. Several people stopped to watch the struggle, but then moved on. No one looks particularly concerned. You can't quite place the meaning of the symbol, though you feel it on the tip of your tongue. Tanner: The creature walks into the light, and you almost topple off the crab as you realize it is a fully-grown Gaunt, sinewous and fluid. The creature reaches out carefully, touching your forehead. You hear its voice in your mind, commending your skill. It states that it would have taken you for evaluation as a servant, but that you would have likely been more trouble than you're worth. It suggests that you come to see it someday, and play music for it once more in exchange for your freedom. It also asks permission to take one of your crabs until then for examination; it has never before seen such a unique breed as those of your flock. Jen: You quickly pack up your supplies, but when you prepare for a return to the city you realize that you forgot the direction in which it lies. Earthsage: The beetles finally reach you, and form a circle of rings around you in the grass. As you burn into oblivion, they simply sit and protect the plants of the grove. The world goes dark, your ashes are scattered, and the grove draws you in once more. Then there is a brilliant, shining, formless presence standing beside you, whispering that your job isn't over. In the center of the grove a bud forms on a small island in the center of a pond, and within this bud lies your new form. You can shape it as you wish, however you think you could best serve the grove, says the presence.

Name: Nex Description: Black polo shirt, grey David Tennant-esque trench coat, dark blue jeans, black bowler hat. Burnt-orangeish, dark-blondeish, dark-brown hair about a handspan down past his shoulders, kept loose with an offset part. Amber-hazel eyes and thick eyebrows with a blonder color than his hair. The beginnings of a vague, white goatee and a burnt blonde mustache. Personality: Odd. Prone to excessive fidgeting, steps on every crack or pattern while walking, loves fire and sharp things, and is constantly singing. Close as you'll ever get to a picture of me. Though I don't have a trench coat or bowler hat yet.

The Back Room
I tried logging into Runescape. Now I remember why I quit. WHY JAGEX?! WHY DID YOU REMOVE THE CENSORS!!! EDIT: Earth? Butterflies with knives? Really? Are you sure those weren't just Sarah and Lidya?

The Back Room
One of the best knife-throwers in my division of the SCA has a cat that everyone agrees is capable of 'gating'. People see it go out of a room through one door and into the room from the opposite door, when the rooms on either side aren't otherwise connected. It can also - somehow - open doors on its own. Sometimes when the doors are locked. Cats are certainly interesting creatures, corporeal or otherwise.

The Back Room
Much more than five here. Images, several-second movies (the only times I've ever thought in moving images), and dialogue. Also, as soon as I learned to speak I began using words and describing concepts I didn't (and essentially couldn't) know. I accurately described the armour of a Roman soldier, or perhaps gladiator, asking where I had misplaced it and kept talking about a specific baseball uniform (number and colours) that my parents didn't care enough about to look into (and quickly forgot about) -.- . I vaguely recall yellow and white. Would the latter be procognitive?

Hegemony: A New World
How do you do the map thing, anyways?
-
Hegemony: A New World
Wait, what are we talking about now? Why are closeness and overstretched suddenly bad?
-
Hegemony: A New World
24 hours from now?

The Back Room
Nonsense. I have both a ghost cat and a mild capacity for precognition.

Never agreed on an xp system. Any preferences? As for magic, meh. I think I'll just say that nothing is impossible. After all, coming up with reasons for all my ridiculous ideas sometimes takes too long.

Hegemony: A New World
Meh. No fair. :P Also, Can I still rescind my current military orders Dungeon? I'm thinking up prototypes, and I just want to have the current force in reserve. How long do I have until the refund is void? And what? Colonies become provinces once claimed, right?

*Bows* I've spent quite some time ruminating on that argument. I quite like it, actually.

Earthsage: The beetles are still far away. As your vision fades, you see the distant knight leap atop a spiderlike creature that then scuttles away. Retech: After a short, rather cheesy exchange the demon flies away. You maintain your defensive stance, in case of a trick, but all you hear is a loud crack followed by a sound akin to a cow being tossed down a hill (minus the startled moo). Ieyfura: You spot your brother and the Drow huntress near a campfire on the ground, as well as the ruins of the city near your cave and a pillar of light far off. Tanner (no, but you can probably guess): You deftly whip out your xylophone, place it on the crab's back, and start playing. The music is, for a xylophone, quite peaceful and soothing. The creature seems to hesitate, and turns around to leave. Tekrer: A muscular man leaning against a wall grabs you, whipping out a rope. You notice a sword at his belt, and his uniform looks familiar. Iapetos: As you leap away and into the tree, the branch gives way and you topple to the ground. Unfortunately, the ground slopes at a significant angle, and end up in a river some twenty yards from where you started. Draugen (you have no claws, and remember that one arm is effectively useless right now except for amusingly flopping about): You drive your sword into the ground next to you, leap out from the cover, pick up a swordsman who was attempting to flank you with your good arm, and hold him in front of you with a choking grip. ---------------------------------------- Also, out of curiosity, who actually would like normal magic in this? I want it to be as fun (read: "fun") as possible.

Hegemony: A New World
Nevermind. Anyways, are you providing tech trees or expecting us to make them?

France, closeness.

Is your capslock broken? You're pulling an Earthsage my friend. I'm gonna look around the rules a bit more.

The necessity for abortion is by nature wrong. Abortion in itself is easy to claim as selfish, assuming you have never had to go through giving birth. Also, unwanted children such as those which are often born to poor parents without contraceptives often end up as good as dead thanks to abuse and apathy. Therefore, allowing for contraceptive failures, abortion is wrong and should never happen in the first place but better than the alternative.

Underworld
Jen: You approach the camp, calling for its inhabitants to show themselves. You then see the scorpion emblazoned on the banner set into the ground near the fire, and realize that it is indeed your own campsite. Your scorpion (name it?) chitters happily and drapes itself around your shoulders as you go to get some food from your bags. Suddenly, you hear a vaguely familiar flapping of wings and the sound of talons lightly scraping the ground. Iapetos: You quickly make your way to the campsite, landing just outside the campfire's glow. You see a Drow and her scorpion, sitting in the glow of the campfire. As you land, the Drow quickly jumps up, holding a chain weapon. Her scorpion climbs onto her back and latches on tightly, swinging its tail back and forth. Tekrer: You topple the wounded thief and split the other's head. The grounded thief begins to crawl away, leaving a trail of blood. Stork: The crabs regroup not too far away, save for your former mount which scuttles over you. The crab brandishes its claws, snapping the end off one of the tendrils. Another brushes your skull before being ripped away, and the touch gives you a headache. You crawl back and stand up, leaping atop the crab with your staff in hand. The tendrils twitch and withdraw, and the barely visible figure seems to bulk up. Draugen (the dice REALLY hate you): Your arm limp, you swing about and backhand the man so that he staggers. You pick up your sword once more, but several crossbow bolts zip towards you before you can strike. One tears your left ear to pieces and another embeds itself in your chest. Hissing, you duck behind a fence. Earthsage: Your message falls upon deaf ears, and you pull yourself up between two branches to lash out and disarm the knight. He is ready, and slashes away the vines wielding the giant sword one-handed while tossing the clay pot into the branches of the tree you're hanging from. The tree bursts into flame, and you drop to the ground. The knight tosses another pot, lighting you on fire directly. As he turns and walks away, you hear a faint buzzing amidst the horrible, deafening roars of pain and fire. The beatles are coming.
