  1. I want to answer this with a specific website, but I can't find it. The thing is, in a competitive environment, limiting yourself is tantamount to suicide in higher levels of play. In other news, HAHA LATIAS GOT VOTED TO UBERS YESS **** YOU NO MORE SPEEDY DRACO METEORS. Salamence, you're next. I do pretty good limiting myself lol. If I was losing every match I would make changes. But if you're a highly competitive person you do everything you can to succeed, if you're doing it for fun, go have fun.
  2. If you choose to play a certain way, you shouldn't flame people for playing the way they play. It just seemed like you were taking a jab at people who like to limit themselves, when really it's only a problem when they try to tell you how you should play. That being said, I am somewhat of a hypocrite because flinch Togekiss and Jirachi are used for the sole purpose of trying to get luck, when the whole metagame has been altered to limit how much luck a person can get, so that skill wins over luck. Oh well, Inner Focus Dragonite stops that strategy.
  3. I limit myself because I think it takes more skill to win, which makes it more fun. Using Rhyperior, Blaziken and Lanturn in OU is a lot harder than using Latias, Tyranitar, Scizor, Blissey, etc.
  4. Sentret//Furret can. Although I'm not sure if you'll be able to get more than 1 off before it's dead. + Girafarig, and Gorebyss. Gorebyss has better defenses (although it isn't bulky by any definition), Aqua Ring, and better stats in general, but Girafarig can dual screen and then use Amnesia and Baton Pass, which could make it a lot more bulky. Both can also pass agilitys.
  5. I'd actually be interested to read an article on what some normal Muslim people think of the terrorist threats. Here, the Catholic priests who rape boys are seen as monsters (by any sane person), so it's also very likely that normal citizens think terrorist threats are monsterish too. Summed it up pretty well. Some Muslims probably will be offended by this event, but if something like a "National Rape Your Girlfriend" day appeared on a Muslim site, what would we do? We'd be offended, we'd probably talk crap about it, but if civilians publicized a death threat, the first place they're going is jail. As far as I know, no one has been punished for those death threats on Trey and Matt, although feel free to post proof that I'm wrong in this.
  6. Critical hits ignore defensive stat boosts, so that meant the calm minds meant nothing defensively. I'm not sure if it incorporates offensive stat boosts.
  7. That is by far the worst argument in your post. The clan history is a much better argument though, and I really have no place to say who is/isn't right.
  8. "Remember, this information is NOT Confirmed as of yet and so it's quite possible that this information is indeed inaccurate. However, as the region name was accurate, it's also quite possibly real. We'll get confirmation as to whether it's real or fake when the rest of the scans come out. " I think the official pictures come out in on Sunday for Japan (was Saturday night for me) so we'll see then.
  9. http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/sceptile The stats without EV training are 281 HP, 206 attack, 166 defense, 246 special attack, 206 special defense, 276 speed. You have a few stats above that, which would be the ones you EV trained, but 3 below for some reason... You have a -special defense nature, which makes sense. But no idea why your HP and attack are lower than what they should be (although not by much). Competitively, it's not that great because you have EV's all over the place. You do seem to have a good chunk in special attack in speed, which is alright, but not what you want. My advice to you would be to breed that Sceptile into a treecko (using a ditto and also assuming you're playing HG/SS/Platinum) and get a nature you would like (anything with a +special attack or +speed nature without lowering speed or special attack is fine to be honest), then you could EV train it in special attack/speed. There is no real way to check your current EV's while training, so you would have to count them manually or just get 255 in each stat (meaning you lose one stat point in another stat which isn't a huge loss). Also, if you battle over wifi the game simulates what the pokemons stats would be if they were level 100 (it doesn't do this for local battles I believe), so you don't need to train a pokemon to level 100, just EV train and evolve the pokemon. And this is all for competitive battling, in game that's a fine Sceptile to use and it may even be decent over wifi, but this is what you have to do to get the best advantage.
  10. Somehow, i had a feeling they would sneak something like natures in :P But what is EV? An EV is an effort value. You get a certain amount of EV's for beating any pokemon, based on what that pokemon is good at (I think it's something like 1 special attack EV for beating a ghastly, 1 speed EV for beating a zubat, etc.). You can get the EV's doubled by having that Pokemon hold an item (won from the battle tower I believe?). One stat can have a max of 255 EV's, and a pokemon can have a max of 510. 4 EV's is one stat point increase sometime before that pokemon reaches level 100 (randomly added on when leveling at any point in time), so preferably the max EV a pokemon should have is 252, because 255 is meaningless. Basically, let's say a hypothetical pokemon at level 100 had no EV training (99 rare candies directly from an egg), its stats would be 300 300 300 300 300 300. If you trained stat 1 and 2 for 252 EV's and stat 3 for 4 EV's, the stats would then be 363 363 301 300 300 300. If you trained the pokemon normally and got it to 510 EV's at random, it would look something like 322 321 321 321 321 321. A pokemon with a direct purpose would have an advantage over a pokemon with random EV's, especially if you don't use the stats you put EV's in. Tried to make it as simple as possible. And about your previous question, there are a few kinds of Pokemon. Walls, clerics, sweepers, support, wall-breakers, and probably more that I'm missing. Currently my team has a physical wall/support, special wall, special sweeper, wall breaker, late-game sweeper, and a "steel trapper"/special sweeper. If you're just starting out, you should try to make your team have a bit of everything and make sure there are no repeating weaknesses (like every pokemon with a weakness to ice type attacks would make anything with an ice type attack very hard to kill). So just try to get two walls (pokemon with high HP and either high physical defense or special defense), one support pokemon (something that helps the team, like using wish and healing team members, baton passing stat boosts to a team member, laying down stealth rock, etc.), a wall breaker if you'd like (otherwise a sweeper) (a wall breaker is a pokemon with high special and physical attack that can kill many walls), and two sweepers (pokemon with high speed and high attack and/or special attack). Watch youtube videos with commentaries if you'd like to see common pokemon/strategies, so you can see why people do what moves. A knowledge of a pokemon's base stats also helps so you can see what kind of pokemon something usually is.
  11. I have mine to friends/off because if I have it set to "on" and someone from a clan adds me, they can see every world me, and possibly my clan go to. And no I don't really consider it arrogant that you would only want to talk to your current friends.
  12. I used steady aim with the Spas (I was doing challenges) and got more headshots than I do with other weapons. Give that a shot, and yes play normally.
  13. when did blaziken and dragonite become underrated?? No one expects Blaziken to do anything with Infernape everywhere, but Blaziken has better attack stats and decent speed, which makes it a great wallbreaker (better than people expect). Dragonite isn't used as much because Salamence has better speed and attack, making it a better sweeper, yet Dragonite has Extremespeed and Focus Punch, two things Salamence doesn't have.
  14. Had a battle today where my Blaziken took out my opponents Infernape and my Dragonite took out my opponents Salamence. I love when underrated Pokes pull their weight. Edit: OK I'm really starting to love this Dragonite: <Opponent> switched in Gobstopper (lvl 100 Forretress ♂). Pointed stones dug into Gobstopper. Gobstopper lost 12% of its health. Buzzcut switched in Dragonite (lvl 100 Dragonite ♀). Pointed stones dug into Dragonite. Dragonite lost 25% of its health. Gobstopper used Rapid Spin. Gobstopper blew away the pointed stones! Dragonite lost 6% of its health. Gobstopper's leftovers restored its health a little! Gobstopper restored 6% of its health. <Opponent> switched in Mrs Williams (lvl 100 Blissey ♀). Dragonite used Substitute. Dragonite lost 25% of its health. Dragonite made a substitute! Dragonite is tightening its focus! Mrs Williams used Ice Beam. It's super effective! The substitute took damage for Dragonite! Dragonite's substitute faded! Dragonite used Focus Punch. It's super effective! Mrs Williams lost 100% of its health. <Opponent> Mrs Williams fainted. Dragonite lost 10% of its health. <Opponent> switched in Gobstopper (lvl 100 Forretress ♂). Dragonite used Flamethrower. It's super effective! Gobstopper lost 94% of its health. <Opponent> Gobstopper fainted. Dragonite lost 10% of its health Just demolished two walls without them expecting it. People really underestimate Dragonite ever since Salamence came along.
  15. Steel is super effective against Ice, Ice is super effective against Ground, and Ground is super effective against Steel. But yes, it would be sort of favoured for steel types as ice doesn't resist ground and ground doesn't resist steel. Dunno, we'll see what they decide to do I guess. I wouldn't mind if they started changing the starter types, as I personally consider grass to be an obsolete type, with water and fire having their own advantages.
  16. The thing is, my Dragonite is meant to kill the walls that think they can come in on a draco meteor (Blissey, Snorlax, Scizor, and maybe some others). It isn't meant to set up a sweep, although that does sound nice, the ice beams would still break a sub (unless I was slower, but would still then take ~40% I'm guessing). Maybe I just need to figure out exactly what I want it to do and what I want it to counter, because Skarmory only takes about 30% from a focus punch, and other physical walls probably take my Dragonite well too.
  17. I have a specs Jolteon on my team and it's good although sometimes hard to switch in. It has under rated special defense though (base 95) so it's a good option if you can predict a thunderbolt or steel move. While we're talking about Dragonite: I have a novelty Dragonite that I might change the EV's for. Do the EV's for the cleric nite really make it that bulky? Right now my Dragonite's role is basically to switch in to something I can take (something like an EQ aimed at Jolteon), substitute on the switch, and from there I can either: A. Roost of the damage and switch if it's something I can't take. B. Focus Punch for (hopefully) a kill (Extreme Speed if that doesn't work out and it's almost dead). C. Extreme Speed for the kill. And later game I use it as a revenge killer/back up wall. Right now it has max speed max attack EV's, so how should I change the EV's?
  18. Was kind of hoping the drama wouldn't come here, but I guess I was wrong. Good job DF.
  19. lsd IS acid, and why shouldn't it be legal? This actually interests me now. What are the risks of LSD? What are the benefits? How does the trip compare to marijuana? Salvia? If that seems confrontational sorry. I would just like to make an informed decision, because that is an interesting question. Why talk about marijuana just because it's popular?
  20. Didn't RSD close and was remade? I'm not sure they were around continuously since 2001. Cor is pretty old (I want to say during Classic?), but I don't have an exact year. EoS has been open since November 2004 I believe, so a fairly long time, but still on the new side compared to those clans.
  21. ok, but SHOPS SELLING IT can tax it. it WILL get the hell taxed out of it when its legalized. that's my point.. why would people pay so much more for something they can just buy from the neighborhood gardener? There should be a license to sell - much like tobacco and alcohol. Sure you can buy tobacco and alcohol from people you meet on the street, but that's illegal, hopefully it's much the same here. Making beer is pretty common, it's just that the people making it are usually old enough to know it's for personal use and not for profit. And I heard marijuana is a hard plant to grow, so if the price is good enough it would be much easier to buy from a "weed store" with a large supply than a neighbour with a small supply. On topic though: it should be legal, although I don't know what kind of effect it will have on the economy.
  22. Told a friend I was going to look for a clan and he suggested his clan, so I joined and eventually learned about other clans and here I am.

    Today...

My friends use manycam and I never even thought of the possibility of doing that on chatroulette. Sounds like a lot of fun. To stay on topic, today I played tennis, and went to a friends barbecue to celebrate the end of the semester. Nothing amazing happened, but was more fun than the average day.
  24. It isn't all about what people think. If I like the look of a cape I earned in F2P, I should also be able to wear it in F2P, although the bonus on it is a bit ridiculous. And the new head of Jagex or whatever the guys rank is said he considers F2P a valuable part of the game and not just a tutorial or demo. It is a game in itself. Doesn't really matter because it is way too late to change it now, it's just that I spent a lot of my time leveling in F2P itself and feel like I should at least be able to wear the capes if I choose.
  25. You need Sleight of Hand with the LMGs, not for the reload speed but because you can sight in at the same speed as an assault rifle. I do pretty good without SOH, but then again I am much more careful and rarely rush. If I do rush and run into someone I just spray because with the large clip size, I can afford it. Though with LMG's you're better off playing defensive (not necessarily camping, defending a flag in Domination is an example).
