  1. So I just did a quick trip of Barrows as I haven't seen anyone talk about it yet. Unsurprisingly, every single Brother has a different weakness. Dharok is weak to Fire Verac is weak to Earth Torag is weak to Water Guthan is weak to Air Karil is weak to Stab Ahrim is weak to Arrows Akrisae is weak to Bolts A couple of things to note: -Just like a lot of people have said about various enemies, ALL of the Brothers can hit through prayer which makes Verac's special pointless among other things. -I only took Virtus with Fire wave and Torva with dual rapiers. Killing Dharok first with his weakness, praying deflect melee and anguish, I came out with less than 3k LP from like 9k. -Managed to kill all the brothers weak to the other elements with just fire but I did noticeably less damage. -Barrows wasn't difficult, but it certainly made me use a lot more supplies than usual. I really hope Jagex isn't expecting us to carry SEVEN different attack styles to Barrows. It's just ridiculous as to how every single monster only has one weakness. If Ahrim and Akrisae are weak to arrows and bolts, they should also be weak to stab. As much as I like the new system it just feels like Jagex have taken one step forward and two steps back. But, this is a Beta after all so I'm not too concerned at the moment.
  2. Can you clarify your point? Money only ever circulates the game regardless of inflation or deflation. The only ways it can leave the game are through things like dropping it or paying various NPC's.
  3. Rather than just [bleep] and moan you could actually contribute and tell people why you don't like it and suggest certain aspects you'd like to change. On another note, I'm finding monsters are dying noticeably faster than in the old combat system. I've tried both Black Dragons and Ganodermic creatures and both of them are going down a hell of a lot faster than they usually would. Granted this is from literally spamming abilities as soon as the cool down period is over. As fun as they are to use, I'm seeing it becoming old fast. There needs to be less focus on ability spamming and more focus on buffing up standard attacks for sure.
  4. This is my problem with it as well. You're really forced into spamming abilities. I understand that they're trying to move away from AFKing, but they went too far in the other direction. Agreed, although im hoping this is something they'll be willing to change. All they really need to do is buff the effectiveness of normal combat and increase the cool down times of some of the abilities and make them slightly stronger.
  5. As I understand it, this boss has been specifically disabled during the beta. Ah really? That sucks. As I haven't heard anything about any of the Gwars bosses I'm assuming the whole thing is closed off in the beta at the moment?
  6. Has anyone tried QBD yet? Really interested to see if it is substantially easier/harder. I'd try it myself but I'm about to try TD's.
  7. Has anyone figured out how you manually sheathe weapons yet? Running around with your weapons out now makes you look like a crazed madman about to commit mass murder.
  8. Another thing to note, melee shields at least are now the most protective armour pieces in the game in regards to both armour rating and LP boost. Farseer kiteshield seems to be the best, it has better stats than both DFS and Bandos shield. Also, Kiln cape now increases your Critical hit chance by 2.4% as opposed to giving a strength bonus.
  9. Whoa, actual tanking abilities Lp restore constitution is not an ultimate it is a basic however it can only be used outside of combat and drains you adrenaline to convert it to lp. There is a defence ultimate that seems to basically do the same job but is an in-combat one. Oh you're right it is a basic, I must have got the two mixed up.
  10. Just took a melee build to Black Dragons. Here's some info. -Black Dragons are weak to arrows -They have a combat level of 114 -Overloads now boost your melee stats to 116 and do NO damage to you when you take a sip. -Tried out all the new Dual wielding and single on them. Although it was incredibly leggy combat seems to be a lot more fluent. -Dragons still attacked with just melee and Dragonfire. I spent a lot of time looking at the action bar o see which skill to use but I suppose that's just because I need to learn what skill does what. There are currently two Constitution specific skills. One restores your Lp and is an ultimate, the other draws agro to you and gives other people buffs.
  11. Oh god the lag is just terrible right now. Took me 15 mins to get all the equipment I wanted from the NPC's, of which there are A LOT of new items.
  12. AFAIK all members can play the beta during the weekends. Starting July 7th weekend though, so it won't be accessible this weekend.
  13. Considering this won't be a main game update, don't expect there to be an hours notice either.
  14. Curious as how to long the BETA servers will be up for. If the actual update will be in August/September then I wouldnt be surprised if they stay open for at least 3 weeks.
  15. Thanks for the confirmation, I'll order one now.
  16. But did they say you had to buy them in-store?
  17. GAME sells the card online. Out of the retailers they mentioned it's the only one. They physically ship it to you instead of emailing you the code which is stupid, but if you don't mind wasting money on shipping that might work. Are you sure that works? The article does explicitly state that you have to go in-store to buy one. But unless the cards that give you the skull are different to the standard 90 day ones I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.
  18. Aww :( I liked that ancient magics had their own elements.. Agreed, I suppose this is to enable ancients to contribute to the ultimate transformation abilities. Would of been cool if they had made separate ones as opposed to just tying them together with normal elements.
  19. It had the Bandos symbol on it so I'm assuming it's going to be a new drop from Graardor. Also, did anyone notice the armour set one of them was wearing? It was definitely not released whatever it was. When this does go live it looks like a lot of new equipment is going to be added.
  20. I don't think anyone was expecting that, when he equipped a second D scim I was pretty much in WTF mode. This is going to have massive ramifications to how PvP and PvM work.
  21. Are there any pictures of it yet? I have to admit, this is the first time I'm considering getting one of these items purely for the particles lol.
  22. It's cool if you hate the SoF and think its the devil incarnate etc, but you're just starting to come across as some kind of condescending preacher who thinks people who are indifferent to it are part of the problem. I've never bought spins and I probably never will, but at the same time I neither hate the SoF or love it. You could argue I'm being apathetic towards the whole thing but at the end of the day, Jagex have made it pretty clear it's not going anywhere and there's clearly no limit to what they're willing to add to it. It's a marketing tool, pure and simple, the best way you can protest is to not use you're free spins. In the meantime ill be using my 2 free spins a day to make hundreds of millions...o wait. The sensationalism in this thread is staggering.
  23. Like others, really not liking how combat level is calculated now, just seems like Jagex are shooting themselves in the foot to me. Also, isn't this going to make Constitution largely pointless? The blog said that top end armours will give you 15k Hp with 99 Constitution giving you 990. So basically, you get more hit points from training defence than Hp, lolwut? I know Constitution is pretty much trained passively with other combat stats but this just seems to make it a skill for the sake of being a skill.
  24. Exactly. However simple it may be, if it isn't possible in the beta there is obviously multiple reasons beyond their programmers being sheite.
  25. If its too hard to code, they must have some shit programmers. Regardless of how good you're own programming skills may be, you're not an employee of Jagex or have any knowledge of how Runescape is coded.
