  1. 3x SLI works fine on most games.. haven't seen it decrease performance yet anyway so thats all that matters, in most cases it boosts it.. but not x3 as lots of people assume SLI cards means 3x the FPS/Performance of one card haha. 3.5GHz is a little low if the cooler that comes with that case is as good as reviewers say it is, I have a i7 930 @ 4.2GHz stable on liquid cooling (360 Radiator) and I have seen stable CPU's at 4GHz on air, don't brake it if your not comfortable with pushing it though lol. Can't wait to see some of those pics :) will be awesome.
  2. First off, you need to check if it will post just quickly put it together and see what happens. Even if it posts.. it could do a specific task that posting doesn't require it to do so much around until you feel happy. - If you're unlucky and it does not work then you will have to solder it back on the bent ones should be fine, as people have said. I know it's extremely small I have seen the connections before.. but if your mobo is dead it cant do much harm in trying... I would try and find something to put over the other pins that would stop solder sticking to them.. and maybe just use a long wire to connect the two points instead of trying to bridge that little gap..
  3. Next time, you don't need to openly admit you're downloading music, Limewire is a peer to peer program where you are trusted not to share copy right information and it's supposed to be a good way to share legal material between friends. As for you're question i don't use Limewire but I do remember you can go into - Options > preference > download location, something like this but you can make it so the files automatically download to your iTunes music file so you don't need to move them they just appear in your playlist, then sync iPod. Good luck.
  4. No, if you are going to install 64bit then that is a bad idea, even if you stuck with 32bit it's a bad idea because the programs may not work. Installing 64 bit doubles the chance of of them not working as they may not even have 64 bit drivers.. Out of interest why are you installing 64bit windows, although now days most programs & components have 64bit drivers/versions it is just easier to stick with 32bit if you don't need to upgrade. 32bit can read upto 4GB of RAM, the only reason I use 64bit at all is because I have 6GB's of RAM. 3gb. Not 4. No it is 4GB's of RAM, Vista had some trouble reading more than 3.6GB's but windows 7 makes better use of Ram. Yeah Guydabest if you plan on getting more then I understand, good luck. - Sprideau, I thought he was talking about a XP game though? and it's just generally well known that 64 bit can every so often run into a few driver problems, I have used 64 for a long time and don't get too many but there have been problems in the past, especially if you are using less heard of programs sometimes the 32 bit versions wont even pass the install. but yeah it is Quite Rare.

  6. You can use normal thermal paste instead of the glue one it doesn't make a difference so long as the clips can hold the heat sink on, I use MX-2 Thermal Paste but they have new pastes out like MX-3 lol.. I just have heaps of MX-2. Also I know Sniper has already mentioned this I just wanted to say it again - Dust is NOT dangerous, I have dealt with computers filled with dust most the time older cases don't even have dust filters on the fans and they actually suck dust and spray it allover the components. This was more for everyone posting about how dust could be dangerous than you lol. Post some pictures when you're finished? Good luck.
  7. 1. I don't know it really could be anything but I can give you a link to this program: http://www.hdtune.com/ Download it, install it and run the Health & Error Scan tests also benchmark and that should let you know if there is a problem with your hard drive. 2. Easy, you could use a hard drive mirroring program.. but I have copied a whole hard drive onto another one just by having them both plugged in on the pc highlighting everything and pasting it on the new hdd, not sure if there are risks to that method though.. I assume there is a reason there is HDD Mirroring software out there. 3. You need a SATA II hard drive, they are normally much cheaper than external hard drives (per GB) and I recommend you get yourself a: Western Digital 500GB Caviar Black SATA II hard drive, you should be able to find one easily online.. I don't know any Scottish computer tech stores though so you will have to find that yourself  4. Yes back to number one, download and install HDTune, should check your hard drive for you. Good luck! Edit: Had a look and found a site that delivers to Scotland, they look pretty good here are the HDD links: http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=330259&CatId=3097 - 500GB HDD is what you have in your computer ATM. http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=439720&CatId=3097 - 1TB (1000GB) HDD they are pretty cheap so if you wanted to double your space you could get this. Hopefully you won't even need to buy another HDD though.
  8. Wow... that is well over $5000 USDollars worth of parts there not including the Monitors or parts you already had.. probably even more expensive in the UK you're very lucky a $1000 dollar CPU for a birthday is insane lol.. With that cooling system fitted into the case what are you planning on Over clocking your CPU too :) ? I would have gone with the new ASUS Rampage III Extreme mobo if I were you.. it's very nice  Hope your not just using that rig for Runescape ;) think you'll be posting some pics of the build & benchmarks ;) ?
  9. I would try reinstalling drivers, especially if you used the ones on the disk that the GPU came with because they could be outdated.. going to the manufacturers website you should be able to find the drivers. If that doesn't work try reinstalling firefox & Java, after that I am out of ideas but I know your PC can run RuneScape so it's most likely a software issue. Good luck.
  10. They aren't. I had a G11 which broke after 6 months. I am using a G15 keyboard to type this which I have had for over a year, works fine, looks fine and all the keys work properly (The Media Keys function for iTunes) so I have to disagree.. so long as you don't bash this keyboard (although it can take a hit) it should be fine.. very useful keyboard. Just remember the disk that comes with it is there for a reason so install drivers from that disk or for the latest drivers from the website. - Felt I had to mention this because of the amount of people that think the LCD is just there to display a pretty "G15" logo lol. Talking about Drivers, installing the latest ones from your keyboards manufacturers website could fix the media keys not working with iTunes problem for anyone who cares to try it.
  11. Looking for a "Laptop" that will last you 5+ Years is a tough task, I don't have any recommendations but I can give you some tips? When you make a decision on a laptop look up a "few" reviews on it just to see what the majority of reviewers think about it instead of just getting one opinion. Take a Good look at warranty, most laptops are not built tough.. so try and go to a store that sells the one you want to get and idea of the strength of the thing.. check keys and other weak spots that tend to snap off or get lost. I would personally buy a Desktop and have a notebook for work/school, taking down notes doesn't require too much processing power.. I guess it really depends on what you are doing you could be designing games for all I know lol. But yeah, you could build a pretty cheap home desktop one that can play games and you could back you're notebook up onto it when you come home, it would also be more comfortable to work on if doing assignments or whatever it is you're doing. Good luck.
  12. Actually I would recommend a SLI set up if you are thinking of going with multiple monitors, each monitor requires a DVI/VGA/HDMI port connection and considering most cards on the market (excluding the latest Nvidia & ATI cards) only have 2 display ports.. normally DVI. So more GPU's = More monitors. it's just like having one large monitor but with borders going through your screen. With some games you may have to set it up so the screens all match up but normally they are already set up for you.
  13. Yes, it looks like they are really proud of their particle effects. How do they look in 3D :)?
  14. All Halo's are the same price at 300 Castle Wars tickets each, I don't know the defence requirements on any of the items because it doesn't mention anything about one. I imagine that the halo's wouldn't have one (if anything a prayer level requirement?) but the shield could possibly have a low Defence level requirement.. However I am not certain on any of this.
  15. ok, so that is everything I can upload. Also I do not have a image shack account so I don't know how long those pictures will be up for display. However it did not mention anything like a time limit so they could do the job. Hope this helps some people find out what they look like and information on them. Good luck winning tickets!
  16. I just purchased a Faithful Shield and thought I would share the statistics of the shield with everyone here on the forum. Uploaded with ImageShack.us This is a Picture of me holding the shield, the purple (smoke?) leaves a trail behind you as you move around. Uploaded with ImageShack.us These are the stats of the shield, pretty decent prayer bonus and the defence bonuses aren't too bad. The shield costs 200 Castle Wars tickets. Also the shield is valued at 120,000gp (120k) on the Items kept on death interface. Hope this helps some people out. EDIT: Managed to get a screen shot of me running with it to show off the smoke trail. Uploaded with ImageShack.us -Sorry if this is not the correct place to post I didn't know where else. Also if the image links don't show the image I will fix that after this post. I decided I may as well show as much as I can so here is the Halo's.. Guthix halo reduces the drain rate of the prayers Clarity of Thought, Improved Reflexes, Incredible Reflexes, Chivaly and Piety. Saradomin halo reduces the drain rate of Thick Skin, Rock Skin, Steel Skin, Chivalry and Piety. Zamorak halo reduces the drain rate of Burst of Strength, Superhuman Strength, Ultimate Strength, Chivalry and Piety. All Halo's cost 300 Castle Wars Tickets. All Halo's are valued at 150,000gp(150k) on the Items kept on death interface. Guthix Halo: Examine info: Halo with the protection of Guthix. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here is the stats picture of the Guthix Halo: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Saradomin Halo: Examine info: Halo with the protection of Saradomin. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Saradomin Halo Stats: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Zamorak Halo: Examine info: Halo with the protection of Zamorak. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Zamorak Halo stats: Uploaded with ImageShack.us All the Halo's slow down the drain rate of different prayers. They all have a particles effect like the shield so when you run along a smoke trail the colour of the halo will follow you. That is everything I will be able to get pictures & statistics of because I don't have enough tickets for much else.
  17. You should definitely give it a shot, once you get the cape I like to think it is worth all the trouble, with 80 Defence, 83 Ranged and 71 Prayer I really wouldn't be surprised if you found it pretty easy. if you get lucky and Jad spawns behind Italy rock you should take a moment to calm down and prepare for the fight. lol I always get too excited and jumpy. Good luck!
  18. Today I went to the fight caves to kill TzTok-Jad for the reward of 25k slayer xp, and a second cape wouldn't be to bad either. Anyway - I got through all of the waves with ease all the way up to TzTok-Jad and took him down to half life quite quickly, once at half life the healers came and I slowly started picking them off to get them to attack me.. Once I thought I had got them all locked onto me I started to attack TzTok-Jad again I was attacking him for quite a while wondering why it was taking so long I realised I had missed ONE healer, this healer was standing right behind Jad so without thinking "I Stupidly" right click attacked that healer without putting long range attack mode on for my Rune C'bow, of course I went running off towards Jad and got hit by his Melee attack a 670, the healers had already done some damage.. I didn't really lose any money, ~200k if that. But this did make me Rage, and I really wanted to vent my epic fail. Hopefully next time I get the task I will have better luck and be more alert about what I am doing. Thanks for reading.
