  1. At least 200k per hour? Someone hasn't done construction or crafting in a while. I needed like 400k experience for crafting and 550k for construction, crafting took me like 3 hours (i started on gold amulets, lol) and so far construction has taken me about an hour to get 56 - 63. Thanks for all the replies :)
  2. Hi, so today i managed to get 63 - 70 crafting and i just started making oak larders to get 70 construction along with that. I want to blow my brains out right now. How do you guys deal with long tasks and extensive grinding? I got most of mine done through sxephil and a film, but now i dont really have much else to resort to, so Phil me in guys :) Thanks.
  3. I think the wilderness is the wilderness, is should be risky for skillers and pkers alike.
  4. You're hilarious. The 90% is in favor of free trade- wilderness on every world is more like an idiot rider attached to a good bill. I've been playing since 2001, so... This ^ Jagex was always bad with polls, but both of these polls were noticeably bad. You can have free trade without the wilderness of old (and staking), however you cannot have the wilderness of old (and staking) without free trade. When Jagex did "Phase 2" they should have given an option of 1. no free trade; 2. free trade +staking, 3. free trade +staking +wilderness. Then at least we'd have a good idea of how much people wanted free trade and how many wanted the wilderness back to the way it was. Actually, what is the best way to do a poll? I think a "Select all you would like to return" sort of poll is best. 1. Free Trade 2. No limit bids GE 3. Unlimited Staking 4. PvP Wilderness Area on all worlds 5. PvP Worlds with "keep what you kill" etc. Then it's a matter of listing possibilities and seeing what actual accounts think. PLUS: Jagex can show the results between member and non-member accounts. But the only options should be nothing, free trade and wilderness. You can't have free trade without staking, or vice versa... It is pointless and just doesn't work. But lets face the facts, regardless of what options there are free trade and wilderness would always win. Yes, there would be a smaller majority, but by how much? 5% less? 10%? It would still be nowhere near enough to change the poll significantly. If you think it would be more than that you are kidding yourself.
  5. Why do you feel like any online actions have social concequences, or harm anyone in any way? Is it because you are a really sensetive and nice guy, or is it because you don't understand the internet and are stupid? That 'thuggish' behaviour is called enjoying yourself, you absolute moron. That 'thuggish' behaviour IS kept seperate from players who don't want to PK, that is why there is a boundary to the wilderness, you jackass. We don't want everyone to play our way, we want everyone to play the way the game is meant to be played, and stop crying because you are too bad at the game to not die to a level 72 with a DDS and ice blitz. Victimisers and bullies? You mean people who realise that it is a game, not the real world? You are not actually killing people, you will not go to jail. Fresh victims or good loot, better gameplay and a more enjoyable experience for people who understand the distinction between real life and the internet? You should be ashamed for making that post. It is actually disgusting to me that you are so unbelievably DENSE and ARROGANT that you can possibly accuse people of being bullies and thugs for playing a mother [bleep]ing game. By saying that it is the PKers that are causing emotional pain to other players you are being unbelievably selfish, and infact you are being a thug and a bully by criticising people in such a moronic way for playing the game the way it is meant to be played. You aren't a bully for killing someone on CoD, it is the exact same thing. You expect to die on CoD, you should bloody well expect to die in the wilderness. Sorry for the sudden attack of rage, but i think that post is completely out of order. I will be back later, i'm going to go to the church and confess about killing all those people and taking their whips. Oh, a little more OT: Since there isn't a guaranteed save of items in the old wilderness, hopefully there will be far less clawers and AGSers. Since there will always be a chance that they will lose their items (unless they aren't skulled).
  6. I didn't get 52 prayer for nothing, Jagex :) Hopefully this update could mean the epic return of the Proselyte pure. They used to be completely beastly in the old wilderness. Uhm gwd equipment was out before wilderness was removed! The dark bow too (and it was actually quite a bit stronger by allowing for more specs). GWD had only been out for around 3-4 months before the removal. The equipment was still highly priced and decently rare. Also, since when was a DDS not an extremely effective weapon? Yes, it would be hard to completely KO someone but it was still easily possible (even more so against the people who are complaining about the update, skillers and clue scrollers). Also, the granite maul? You know, the maul that you can instantly hit 3 times with and with half decent stats KO brewed max health. I'm yet to use Korasi's sword, but from my experience rushing with dragon claws and AGS i know that a granite maul can be far more effective due to the fact that once you have attacked them, they don't have a chance to heal or pray, they are dead or they aren't. They will most likely do something like they do with teleporting. As you can't teleport after 20 wilderness, surely there is a way for them to have a similar system for when attempting to use overloads/extremes. Also, they could probably have something like they do with familiars at the GE when trying to enter the wild with overloads (pushes you back). Perhaps they could have an option to reduce stats to the level of super sets. It's not selfish, there should be worlds that don't allow pking in them. It should be allowed on the themed worlds as the current pvp is already. That way people that want to go into the wildy can do so without worrying about being jumped at random, and those that want to kill people can do so on themed worlds. That is selfish, lol. There shouldn't be worlds that don't allow PKing in them. It shouldn't be allowed on only themed worlds. That way the wilderness is how it should be, and how Jagex originally made it to be. The single reason that you have this misconception of what the wilderness is, is because Jagex failed at making revenants realistic as PKers. If they were realistic, no one would give a [bleep] about this update with your argument because it would be no different to the wilderness in it's current state. What do you think revenants are there for? To make it look pretty?
  7. If they considered the idea of keeping PvP worlds and letting the Wildy loose on those worlds, and just kept it simple for once, they'd satisfy everyone. In a way, the nature of poll sums up the typically nonchalant, blasé attitude Jagex takes to the execution of their updates. Being part of the 8% that opposes this currently, the dilemma I find myself in is that, actually, I agree Free Trade should be brought back in so long as botting can be controlled, and if Jagex say this can be done, and I have no evidence to the contrary, then I've got no good reason to keep Free Trade out. Why restrict people when there's no rational basis for doing so? The problem I have though, is that I'm vehemently opposed to bringing back PKing. Contrary to what some people on this thread may want to imply about anyone who opposes how the Wilderness once was, I played the game for two years before PKing was abolished, I actually did see what the Wilderness was like, and I cannot allow myself to stand by and allow immature, trollish e-gangsters to soil the general community and ruin the gaming experience yet again, no matter how promising Free Trade would be. On the other hand, if those people were kept on worlds away from those of us who want nothing to do with them, I really don't care what they can get up to. It's their life; but knowing Jagex, it's either all in or nothing at all - much like the way in which PKing and Free Trade was removed in the first place. Main issue is: I can't vote for Free Trade unless I also vote for PKing. Why can't I just vote for Free Trade? You can't vote just for free trade because the only reason for the wilderness being removed is the removal of free trade. It wouldn't satisfy anyone to keep PvP worlds. One of the biggest issues with PKing is the overcrowded wilderness and lag, you can't do anything. If you don't want to have to risk anything to be able to complete clues/skill in the wilderness, perhaps you should find an easier game.
  8. My bet is on for it being implemented by the end of January. I don't see them waiting to release such an epic money maker for them.
  9. Because people don't like losing their stuffs. I know how bad I felt when I got scammed off of 3m back in world 2 Falador. Really demoralizing. Anyway, has anyone else seen the vote results as anything other then 90% yes, 8% no and 2% I don't mind? I went in there before it was announced because I wanted to see if the petition had hit 2mill yet. The vote counter at about 300 votes and it was exactly those numbers. Went in at 50k, those numbers, 170k those numbers and now at 320k those same numbers. It seems to be extremely consistent. I've been checking every 15 - 20 minutes while playing with my graphics tablet and the ONLY change i have seen is 3% indifferent and 89% yes. I think it is safe to say that Runescape wants it. One of the things i haven't thought about is staking. I have seen a few others mention it, but i never really gave it any thought up until now. Surely this will mean the return of range tank staking. I had a low level tank (around 58) that was 50 defence and just under 70 range if i remember rightly. I used to get on some horrifically bad gear and then stake 1m - 2m per duel. I'd then trap them around the obstacles and tank their hits when they did catch me (rarely). I had about 75m wealth on a level 60ish account with easily obtainable stats, staking was bloody epic. I only have 70m on my main at the moment, haha. As for scamming, just lol. In most cases i feel it is somewhat of a 'if you are stupid enough to fall for it you deserve to get scammed', which is mean but once someone is scammed once it is very rare they will be scammed for much ever again. Learn from your mistakes. Nowadays i could scam anyone out of anything, back when free trade was available it would have been a mission because everyone had been scammed for 5k when they were a noob and knew to not be so careless. Oh, by the way i didn't mean that i do/have scammed, i mean that the game is protecting them so much from basic crap that they are just being careless. I saw a video on kenste's YouTube channel where someone was moaning about how Sparc Mac stole his blue party hat, because he said he would give it back. Really? So you have been stupid enough to trade away your item for junk on the basis of a promise, over the internet? I don't think anyone that careless has the right to moan about their loss, regardless of how big or small. Reintroducing free trade would make people aware of these things again, and not just trust everyone with everything. Yall will have trouble beating my paint skills (just got a graphics tablet, couldn't help myself):
  10. The initial poll was unfair; no bones about it. The current vote doesn't change the unfairness of the original poll one iota. My membership elapsed on 12/23/2010 @ 23:59 and I won't be renewing it. Even if they take months to code the changes, I see no point in throwing any more money at the game. Now, I could care less if they set up worlds for people to voluntarily go and participate. But they've been clear it will be "wildy on all servers" or "wildy on none", and I can't go along with that. What Jagex is proposing bringing back is hazing, and I have lost all respect for them. On the bright side: I'll be buying a new HD radio / MP3 unit for my car in the near future with the money I saved on RS. Always look on the bright side of life. The initial poll is irrelevant. 90% for vs 8% against, whether that poll had existed or not a MASSIVE majority of people are still for the update, in comparison to less that one tenth that are against. Have a good life then i guess :(
  11. I'm currently loving the fact that there were hundreds of people screaming about how the initial poll was unfair and that there wasn't a no option, and now that there is it is 90% for, 8% against and 2% indifferent. That is in 315k votes, which is easily enough votes to be a representetive figure for the entire RS population (1/4 of everyone that voted in the previous poll). If anything, this proves further how it is a huge majority that are for the update. To you guys and gals who are against it, if/when the update occurs you will pretty much be experiencing what a large majority of players felt when the wilderness was removed. Huh. I'm definitely pleased to see that Jagex came to their senses and set up a fairer way for people to get their opinions across, and it looks like it is going to be a good result. Can't wait for the update, i know that i'm going to be getting members again straight away :)
  12. First acc was hacked and banned, joined April 2006 (sirgudi). I've been playing RS since February 2004.
  13. It's not that one will replace the other, it's that now we will have both. Jagex have not shown us that they can deal with the bots now, how could they possibly deal with more bots when this update goes through? Judging by what they said they just had a breakthrough in the last month or so with bot technology. I understand people not wanting to read what they say though considering they're too busy worrying about how terrible runescape is going to become. Or it would be based on knowing that Jagex's word in the past has been far from reliable in terms of bots? What exactly is so bad about bots anyway? And why is it worth crippling one of the main aspects of the game just to deter bots? Really though...the current trade/GE/pking system isn't doing anything to help fight bots. Sure, when the system goes away, there might be MORE bots, but I think there are also going to be more players... But yeah I'm still not really understanding what is so terrifying about playing with some bots. I'd like to hear why you think bots are so terrible and also why you think the current trade system does anything against bots, because I currently see a crapload. The issue was RWT. Many of the credit card companies supporting membership sales threatened to pull out due to people having accounts/credit cards stolen when they were buying gold from unreliable sources. Or at least that is what i remember the whole point being. Bots were the main source of gold for the RWTers, and by getting rid of bots Jagex can reduce RWT.
  14. It's not that one will replace the other, it's that now we will have both. Jagex have not shown us that they can deal with the bots now, how could they possibly deal with more bots when this update goes through? They claim to have new ways to deal with them that the just received. But the thing is, they have had so many new methods over the past few years that the bot creators just find ways to combat them. Who is to say they wouldn't do the same with this? However, i do find the assumption that the number of bots would increase pretty stupid. Botting is still as much of a problem as it was in 2007, but the bots are just less obvious. I doubt a single person on my friends list hasn't either used or contemplated using bots, i know i have. They are now easier to use, easier to create and more readily available. Being able to trade freely isn't a factor, it is how likely you are to get banned. Jagex aren't stupid, if they have alarm bells ringing on an account for botting and that account proceeds to transfer an ass load of cash in one way or another, there is no way they will let them get away with it. People say that they are admitting defeat, but i think it is the complete opposite. They are saying [bleep] you to the botters and RWTers of the RS world and taking them on head on. Also, (don't quote me on this, i don't know how accurate i am being) Chinese laws disallow gold farming and selling now. That should have cut down the amount of RWTers significantly, or at least made it harder for them to operate.
  15. GuidesForScapers posted a topic in Rants
I hate the term 2K10 prod, but i'm an attention [bleep] and want replies :) Basically, my rant is the new generation of over senseitive, IMO genuinely pathetic, RS players. Here is a quote to show what i mean (i won't use the persons name): Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and my opinion on this person's opinion is that it is a completely moronic opinion. Runescape is a GAME. You gain items, you lose items. IT IS HOW IT WORKS. Killing someone who has knowingly entered a dangerous area is a perfectly respectable thing to do, regardless of the situation. The fact that people can try to make people feel like they have done something morally wrong when they are simply playing the game how it is supposed to be played is the most arrogant thing i have ever heard of. If you can't come to terms with how a game is supposed to be played, quit the damn game. Don't attempt to make other people feel guilty for your inability to understand an extremely simple logic. By the way, this argument is related to the wilderness update but it is not, by a long shot, the basis of it. This rant is about the attitude of some players, not the update. ^All opinion of course.
  16. You'd have to download the stylesheet(s) and the image files as well to do that though. Or you can just paste it into notepad and replace the start of every img tag and change "/img/ to "http://wwww.runescape.com/img/, or at least something along those lines. Rather more OT: Thanks for all the comments :D
  17. Only made this to show off the fact that it isn't evidence of anything unless you have seen it with your own two eyes. 100% perfectly accurate fakes are easily possible. Want to CC me on something real :D? How about this... All comments appreciated :)
  18. [hide=Proof of fake poll][/hide] I think everyone who thinks this poll is fake due to various leaked screenshots should check this out. I think everyone who thinks that there is even the slightest chance that the poll is fake should check this out. Just bloody check it out :) Took me no more than 3 - 4 mins to make.
  19. I can't wait. I don't think for a second, with the thought they are putting into it at such an early stage, with the new anti-RWT and botting system they say they just received and the huge potential for profit this will give them that they will decide not to. Lets not forget, the many millions of votes that are almost guaranteed to be received. The great thing about the old wilderness was that it WAS THE WILDERNESS. No one is ever safe, they were never supposed to be safe. If you step in, past the ditch and the warnings, you knew that YOU were risking your items (not someone else "hurting" you by killing you). Now, i can just wander into the wilderness with bank on me and i can feel confident in returning, regardless of what faces me. I would never dare enter with anything more than a DDS in the old wilderness. I can't wait, and even more than anything i can't wait to see some of you moaning RCers get downed :) Welcome to the real RS.
  20. So wait, it seems like everyone wanting the old wild back just wants to be able to attack non PvPrs? Really, that's what it's about? Killing guys that aren't really in the mood to fight another player, but just happen to be in one area of the map that allows it? Look, I appreciated when Jagex made the abyss and how it tried to make PKers into a monster of sorts. But when you have all the problems of PvP that the wilderness brought, it just took away the fun of the game. And sorry, a Level 85 spell (teleblock) to counter a level 21 spell (teleport) is asinine. If they bring back the wilderness ie PvP on all servers it better have better game mechanics that what it did. For example 1. You need a Red Skull to attack other non-Red skulled players. 2. While a Red Skull, you cannot teleport while in the wilderness. 3. While Red SKull, your protect from and protect item prayers do not work 4. You can only get a Red Skull at the Zammy Priest in the level 5 wild, and you must keep the red skull for a minimum of 1 hour game time. 5. The Zammy mage can change a red skull back to a white skull if you ask him, which then goes away after 20 minutes. 6. Anybody can attack a red skull., but non-red skulled players get white skulled in the process. 7. Level restrictions of the wild apply except any red skull can attack another red skull anywhere. In other words, you want to pk on a non-pk server it's gonna be with some pretty steep penalties. However, you then get the benefit of attacking non-pkers in the wilderness. Alternatively, players could learn to respect the fact that the wilderness is dangerous and not enter it if they don't wish to run the risk of being attacked. Logic is much more simple than a new, most likely flawed, game mechanic.
  21. Yeah, now I think you're just living up to your avatar. And the only argument for is people whining about how they want to try to destroy anyone who sets foot north of Edgeville. See, I can make generic negative-connotation statements too! Nice too see you guys have given up arguing your unwinnable point. More like I've realized that no matter how much I argue with people that derive joy from causing others harm, it's not going to stop them from getting what they want because of a flawed "voting" system. And no, Naraku, I'm not a PKer. Maybe because I have the decency to earn my GP in ways that DON'T hurt other people. You just made my day. Don't like losing items? Get the [bleep] out of PVP areas. The only people "harming" or "hurting" other people is people like you, attempting to pin the flaws of your own idiocy on legit and respectable players that understand how the game is supposed to work. Read a [bleep]ing book.
  22. Yeah, now I think you're just living up to your avatar. And the only argument for is people whining about how they want to try to destroy anyone who sets foot north of Edgeville. See, I can make generic negative-connotation statements too! Nice too see you guys have given up arguing your unwinnable point.
  23. With the get what you kill system there would be far more items such as whips/claws/etc in the game, so the prices would fall anyway.
  24. Wow, never realised how many [kitties] there were on RS now. Anyone who played RS before the update knows that the wilderness was intended as a very dangerous place where you could die easily. It never stopped me going to get my level 3 clues done, or going to the KBD, or killing green dragons. Yes, it could be an inconvenience at times to have someone attack you, but you would do something called "not being pathetic and bad at the game" and either escape or understand that the wilderness was supposed to be dangerous and by entering it you knew that there were risks involved. Also, the reason that Jagex don't feel that this will have an uncontrollable effect on RWT is because they now have more experience and technology in handling the problem correctly. The system that they put in place helped prevent RWT, but it was never taken away, just slightly shrunken. What is the point in reducing the quality of the game significantly to win the fight against RWT a little bit. RWT has always been and will always been a part of ALL online games. No, it isn't a [bleep]ing record attempt. What would they gain? Ever thought about the number of people that will return to the game and purchase at least a months worth of membership to try out the new old wilderness? I know of at least 6 or 7 friends of mine (irl) that will be doing so, and so will i. That is almost $50 from just me and a few friends, a tiny percentage of the old Runescape players. I never thought that there was any true distinction between the old and new players on Runescape, however now i see that there is a clear line. To all you newer players that don't want the up date, man the [bleep] up. ^All opinion, as always :)
  25. The thing is, there will always be bots. Not due to Jagex's methods being ineffective, but because accounts are free to create or profitable to create in members (for gold farmers). Every single one of those bots will be one of the many, many accounts that have and will be banned that are owned by a single person. The botting will ALWAYS persist, and the only reason is because people can simply evade the bans with a new account. The gold farmers don't intend on having a long term account, they create a new account, get it membership and bot it. Then they sell the gold/trade it over to a different account and expect it to be banned, it isn't a matter of whether it will or not, just when. The procautions botters have to take to do something as simple as mine essence is unbelievable. They all have theories of how Jagex detects them and what they can do to avoid bans... and yet none work. This only proves the quality of Jagex's ban system, and shows that they have come a very long way. Think about it... How long would it take you, botting 10 hours+ a day, to get to a stage where you could make 200k+ per hour from essence mining. The answer is less than a day. Someone gets banned, they make a new account and complete the quest, they are good to go.
