2070 Hegemony
I think its better to not include any sort of system like that at all, we should be able to research as many things as we like providing our treasury allows it. I don't see why how it would stop people doing insane things! It'll just limit them doing anything. Fix Suggestion: Allow five technologys from the start of the game/allow one technology in each tech class from the start of the game. Edit: Add a random one to the east please.

Because? National ideas stop the 'I haz nukes and mazzive amies and robital cannnnons, i r awesome' At least initially, people will probably get all three over time anyway. I mean, yeah, it is limiting as hell. I want my P-Jets, Mustard Gas Mines, Rhine Dam, Orbital Laser Defence Network, Particle Cannon Emplacements, Laser Fields, Zero-Gee Adjustment Centers, Genetic Experiment Prisons, ect ect... But all of that would logically take time to do in the real world, so should, logically, take time to do in the game world. Projects seem a logical way to increase province usefulness without turning the game into the 'haves' and 'have-nots' I don't have so much of a problem with Projects, I shouldn't have really included it. National idea's are terrible, they simply limit the game for no real reason and add a new gameplay element that could easily be solved by 'you don't have enough money'. The idea of collecting points and then spending them is neither fun, realistic or nessacary. Its just a sort of 'lets add it, it won't benefit the game but lets add it anyway to make it different'. You're penalised for researching anything that isn't going to help you in the battlefield. I suggest that a way of limiting technology research would be to expand upon the manpower system: a percentage of manpower (starting at 1% and increasing depending on how much of your budget is funded into education) would be capable of researching technology. Say that my highly educated manpower contains 20,000 individuals I could potentially split 10,000 into cranial bores and then 10,000 into gun-sight improvements. Throughout the course of researching the educated manpower cannot be accessed without cancelling the project, they are unusable until the project is finished.

Okay then. Edit: Rocco, what was Tip.It Islands, was it like Hegemony?

The Back Room
It isn't against Tip.It rules or Tavern rules so what is the problem? I've moved onto the subject of the 'sophistication of certain music types' but you choose to criticise an post that has been superceded by a new post showing me actually taking part in a discussion about music.

The Back Room
Rocco, I listened to the second track and it almost certainly wasn't sophisticated, it was fairly average in my opinion but it definitely isn't what one would call a sophisticated piece. This is a really interesting video.
-
The Back Room
Dear God, if you find that sophisticated wait till you find out about eating with a knife and fork.
-
The Back Room
Are you seriously telling me that Kiss and videogame music is sophisticated
-
The Back Room
Why do we have to have a mindless discussion about current music trends, can we talk about something in the slightest bit sophisticated.

99% of the world is cowards, around 33% are fools and 1% are brave. No, thats a ridiculous estimate. 60% of the world are cowards, 70% are fools and 40% are brave and the rest are all apathetic. Being brave isn't so rare that only 1% of the world are brave.
-
The Back Room
Of course there is: 100% of Norwegians are cowards and fools. :P

Roll to Dodge: The Tavern
Due to the nature of my gun does nine mean that I have thirty six bullets as opposed to nine? I back myself up in a corner and fire at any zombie that gets within one metre of me with a single shotgun blast.

The Back Room
You can't show how many people hated him with statistics, from what I read on wikipedia he had quite a few supporters.
-
The Back Room
Yep, all his fault. 100% of Norwegians (not including him of course) actively hated him. All his fault, all that single mans fault. Norwegians cannot do wrong.

Scapegoating at its finest. The Norwegian people did nothing while the evil-dictator who scraped his power by a coup; betraying the country at its weakest ruled the country on a throne of tyranny and the blood of jews. The pure-blooded golden-haired Norwegian people led a powerful resistance movement against the Baron of Evil. Despite capturing the monster they decided to give him a fair Norwegian trial: he was executed.
