Tip.it August Challenge
I'm not saying this because my previous post's idea was rejected by the later posts, but I really only meant that seeing the guy pumped me up. I actually posted and then was like, 'Wait, there are words that I should probably read.' I ended up just saying screw it. The text is a bit obnoxious. And I'm not really a huge fan of that type of body building encouragement. I think I've said this in other posts where I'll see a fit guy and it'll motivate me, and I think that's what that picture did.

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
^ That's probably the only instance in which I ever actually lie nowadays. I'll be browsing and completely forget I'm talking to someone (I have the sound disabled). So then I'll just make something up like "Was getting my laundry, sorry."

For all I know, and from what you seem to be saying, I can confidently say, then, that religion and state have never been separate; this is if you deem a state leader being affiliated with a religion as the connection between religion and state (which is really looks like you're doing). In that case, religion has never been 'private'.

Some dude left our door open one time and my parakeet flew out and ended up dying (probably freezing to death in a tree). I was pretty angry. @Rob: My roommate plays the drums. He's made a kinda fence like thing with his broken drumsticks. It's pretty cool. You should do that.

I respect that. I'm just saying, that's tough to ask. A person's belief system (like I kinda already hinted at), no matter what religion it's rooted in, will undoubtedly affect their decisions. Of course, it's hard for us to point out which decisions were affect or not. We can only assume that he/she as a whole has been affected, and therefore his/her actions have been as well. So, I'll say that it isn't only him that we're talking about now. It's every leader who believes in some greater being/human/woman/object (i.e. all theists). Anyway: I get annoyed when people leave cereal or chip bags open. I hate eating stale food.

My response to the latter statement will be determined by your meaning of religion. I sure hope you aren't saying that leaders who are not atheists are unfit for their position. :P Any belief system will ultimately affect people's decisions.

Cardio Alternatives
It looks like something that would be useful, but I dunno if I'd be able to bring it up to college, let alone fit it in my dorm. I don't have a membership, so my weight training is basically push ups and ab workouts. Is that enough muscle training to increase metabolism and increase endurance/stamina?

^ Now those're some cool tunes!

Things that annoy the HELL out of you.
You don't understand me, then. I'll try not to take your 'man in the sky' phrase as a goading remark. God or no God, prayer does not prevent people from doing their best in trying to fix these problems. People can pray and fulfill their duty just as people can hope and fulfill their duty. Of course, anyone who sits back and expects things to get done by themselves is an idiot. But I don't see prayer as doing just that.

And time as short as an hour of prayer will impact such major issues? I highly doubt.

Praying for God to guide a political leader to make the right choices isn't the same as telling God to run the country. For you atheists, it's almost the exact same thing as 'hoping Obama will make good choices for our country.' I don't hear you criticizing people for hoping for the greater good. EDIT: I'm not starting a God debate. I'm just pointing out that this governor's prayer can be likened to 'hope,' which isn't a wrong thing to do.

Cars with driver's side on the right side.
Yup. Also, if I were in the right seat of a car, I would be more scared of swiping a car on the other side of the road (assuming I'm still in the US). But, I think in Europe the directions of the roads are different, too, right? People drive on the left side of the road, and oncoming traffic is on the right? I think as long as I'm driving on the side which oncoming traffic is coming, I'd be able to handle it.

Cardio Alternatives
So, I'm experiencing an awful ingrown toenail, and this is hindering my ability to run (it hurts sooo bad). I've always looked to running as my cardio exercise. But I was wondering if there are other exercises that give you an equal or better workout. Mainly, I want to do something that will burn fat. I don't have a swimming pool, else I'd be swimming. Would biking do the trick? It just seems like biking and running wouldn't have the same effect on the body. I'm trying to work out my core and chest, and I want a good cardio exercise (that replaces running until my toe heals) so that I can burn the fat around my lower abs and torso. Also, sorry if this thread has been answered somewhere else.

^ Hear hear. My mom uses them for so many different things: noodles and soup are the most common.

Tip.it August Challenge
To be completely honest, that gets me pumped. Thanks! So, I forgot about the 100 push ups program and I just did some on my own, I'll start up with the program tomorrow, then. Went on a 20 minute run. Starting off slow, cause I've learned that you don't want to jump right into 40 minute runs. Plus, my feet are all blistered already.
