  1. Just one mistake I found in the Historical Article about prayer: in one part of the article it mentions: Correct me if I'm wrong, but Construction came out several YEARS after the release of Runescape 2, not months. And also, as far as I know, Jagex released little to no information about Construction until the day it was released (we all remember the infamous "tea and chair" Behind the Scene message).
  2. I'm working on a Runescape-based banner and I need a good picture of the skeleton from the old detail selection page (before Runescape HD, I believe he held up the High Detail sign). I know there's a wallpaper that features both the skeleton and the warrior, but the ones from the Detail Selection page would work much better. By the way, I tried looking on Google, but the only picture I found cut it off right at their heads. :( Anyways, if by some chance you have a good quality picture of the old detail selection page, or at least the skeleton, please help direct me to it! Thanks!
  3. I think you should also take into consideration that good clans don't have the longest names. For example, I don't know for sure if it's already taken, but what about "Glory" as a clan name? It's simple, sweet (somewhat), and to the point.
  4. Frankly, I think Jagex has done a lot to undermine the already existing clan system we have. Why? Clan chat. Just the name of it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. A bunch of people on one person's friendlist given a few ranks is NOT a clan. A single person doesn't stand a good chance of running a successful clan (at least for long). You add a person to your friend's list and it says "Your clan will be updated in 30 seconds." What the heck!? That person isn't in my "Clan," he's just some random dude I lent my whip to and who asked to become my friend. Quite honestly, if that's what Jagex deems a "clan" I'm not all together sure if I WANT proper clan support from them. It very well could be too late. Now don't get me wrong, I love the ability to have a "chatroom" (for lack of a better word) on Runescape, and my clan does have their own Clan Chat (which is one of the few true "Clan Chats") which we use frequently. I simply don't think the name fits the purpose. Team Talk? Maybe. But not "Clan Chat."
  5. A very big mistake on the folks at Invisionfree/Zetaboards fault is that it APPEARS to be just an "upgrade" but it really is a lot more than that. Invisionfree was basically a free way to get an already existing Forum software (Invision Power Boards v1.3 - just for reference, Invision Power Boards is now on v2.3 and v3.0 is slated to come out later this year). Because of this, they couldn't really UPDATE it... at all. Invisionfree (IF) was started in 2002, and I happened upon it in 2004 and having been using one board or another hosted by it since then. (I guess you could say I was born & raised on them, too : ). Anyways, virtually NO new features/upgrades had been added to IF since it started in 2002. Zetaboards on the other hand, was written and coded BY the people at Invisionfree/Zetaboards. Because of this, they have the ability to add many new features, updates, etc. to the forum systems over the years. What it all boils down to is: if you're currently using IF, I HIGHLY suggest switching over to Zetaboards, if not now, sometime in the future.
  6. Hehe, we be Instinct, they're Impact. :P Anyways, it sounded like a really good fight. Did anyone get a vid of the war? I'd like to watch it if you did!
  7. Quite honestly, I've never even heard clans like this called "teams" before. I've been in a few Pest Control "Clans" (back before they changed PC), a few of our members have been in GWD "Clans," we've even tried on multiple occasions to start up an Instinct 360 Clan, but to have a "Clan" that's only for Clan Wars and then try to pass it off as something else entirely by calling it a "Team," that's the definition of Multi-Clanning in my book. If I were you, I wouldn't straight out ban "teaming" out of the blue. First, let them all know your concerns about "teaming" and then possibly slate down something like Wild_Goat_14 suggested, incorporating a team INTO your clan. I see two possible ways of doing this: The first is to have the Faith "Team" sorta like a Special Forces squad, not everyone in Faith could join the "team" (but everyone in the team would still be in Faith) and there would be special requirements and/or approval to join it. The second would be to blur the line between Clan and "Team" (which is already quite blurred as it is) and simply run the warring section of your clan more like a "Team." You could have an event just at Clan Wars a couple times a week, maybe even war a few "Teams" to show them who truly are the kings at Clan Wars... Clans! 8-)
  8. Let me just say this: 49 War wins? Nice! BTW, love that name, Vini Vidi Vici!
  9. 1. If you're using IF and you're still getting the porn spam, SWITCH TO ZETABOARDS! I know it sounds crazy, but we've been having the same problem for about 4 or 5 months now. It eventually got so bad (about 20 new porn topics a day and another 20 or so fake forum registrations) that we made all of the Guest forums require admin approval for all new posts and topics. When we switched to Zetaboards (about three weeks ago now), they all just... stopped! I know it sounds crazy and I don't know what security features are exactly responsible for it, but Zetaboards definitely deserve this smiley -> =D> 2. The only real way I know of (besides paying to completely remove the ads) is to click right on the "Ads by Google" and then you can send them feedback about whether the ads on the site you just visited were appropriate for that site. It may work, it may not, but that's the only way I can think of.
  10. We currently use Zetaboards (pretty much IF2.0). Mainly because, of course, it is free, and with the re-work it's like a whole different forum system. Invisionfree was pretty much just a free version of Invision PowerBoards, but they made Zetaboards themseleves so it takes a lot of good features from multiple boards and brings 'em into one. :
  11. We be allies with you! Lol, you guys put up a good fight at that "Collect as many fire runes from monster drops in an hour as you can" event. Came close to our # even though we had twice the people. 8-)
  12. Just saying, that was as much our fault as it was theirs. Strabo told them 1:00 PM EST while technically because of Daylight Savings time it should have been 1:00 PM EDT. 1:00 EST IS one hour later than 1:00 EDT. I guess that's just the kind of crap you have to deal with from multiple timezones though. :(
  13. If you don't mind extending the dates so we can have the rematch this weekend, then on behalf of Instinct (I'm one of the leaders), we'll have a rematch. Since we all seem to be talking about fairness, I don't think we should completely throw out that war. Wouldn't it seem more "fair" if we were limited to a max of what we brought to the previous war? 20 for Faith and 19 for Instinct?
  14. Dang, it... I was looking over that picture again and I realized that couldn't have been me, I wore a Rune Berserker shield, not a regular kite... I have no idea who that it, and there isn't really any way to tell. Regardless, I'm sorry on behalf of Instinct that someone went that far out of bounds, but I really don't think it should effect the decision of who won it to that degree.
  15. That was a really good war, even though I Lakked out... (yes, I Lakked, not lagged...). I didn't see him, but I believe a Tip It official was there as well, because they posted on our Chatbox. Regardless, here is the only picture I took of the event: Note: I wasn't one of the seven, I was just watching due to my Lak... :x
  16. Nice img edit, but you don't make it clear who won on the pic :) instinct won. I'm from Instinct; I wouldn't have made it if we hadn't won. :D
  17. ^ Just something I whipped up after the war. Very good fight, TPL. I enjoyed warring you.
  18. Please ignore Anubis' post; he didn't know we'd already signed up. :

  20. I've been killing the KBD for awhile with my clan, Eternal Darkness, so in my infinite wisdom (that's sarcasm there if you didn't pick that up :P ) here are my suggestions/corrections to the guide: -Your overview section is basically just a Drop/Rewards section. I suggest making a Rewards suggestion and also including Dragonstone, Left Half Shield, Draconic visage, ect. -I know other people have already told you to correct the part about the Dragonfire shield, but I don't think any of them mentioned that the link for the Dragonfire shield actually goes to the Antidragon-breath shield in the Items Database. You probably want to fix that too to avoid confusion. -In the melee section, I think you should also suggest using Rune Boots, a Cape of Achievement, Barrows gloves (mentioned in soloing but not there), and Helm of Neitzinot (already suggested, but I thought I'd second that :P ) -In the beginning you SUGGEST using melee, yet you spend twice as long going over the range equipment than you do melee. I find this a little... redundant and I think you should go over melee a little bit more. Maybe go over the benefits and faults of the different armour choices you could use, talk more about what potions to bring, what prayer to use, ect. Also, remind them not to use 2 hand weapons, even just for the special (I know from experience that using the Anchor special is a bad idea... :P ) -For range, especially with the new crossbow upgrade, crossbows are the best choice and I think you should update that section a little since it seems like it was written before the update or before you had time to try out using the upgraded crossbow. Specifically, a few of the people I kill the KBD with use regular bolts (without enchanted tips) and they hit fine. -The route you show to get to the KBD would run you into PKers unnecessarily, it's better to go farther west, along the mountians. You could also use the Wilderness Teleportation portals. There's one right near the KBD and it can be a very fast way to get there. -Finally, I think you should mention that if you're in a group of say 8 or more, your tactics could be very different. When we go we never use overhead prayers because with so many people going we don't get hit much. We could go 30 minutes to an hour on just one load and still have a little left over. In fact, most of the time we're tight on inventory space for drops. Anyways, the KBD can be a very fun (and also rewarding) experience, and I'm glad Tip It finally posted a guide to help others find that out as well. :D
  21. For some reason (I don't know why) I found ME2 sort've fun. It was the second to last quest I had to do, and from the day it came out I told myself that that was one quest I wasn't going to use a guide on (because at the time, and up to this day I see it as the hardest quest). Anyways, long story short, I managed my goal. :P My least favorite quest would either be the Cold War, or the beginning part of the Great Brain Robbery (hated having to get all those planks...). :shame:
  22. I voted Other, so here's what I'd like you to do: A few months ago I was reading a topic on these forums about guides that you were planning on doing (some time in the future) and I saw a God Guide. I thought this would be really useful because, even though I've finished all the Quests, I think I suffer from short term memory loss and I remember little, if any, of the history and plot. In fact, whenever they come out with a new quest in a series, I always feel like I'm relearning what I did in the first because I can never remember. Anyways, I think it would be cool if you could expand upon that idea a little and have a complete History of Runescape. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, let me give you a few examples. I remember next to nothing about the elves, who's supposed "good" and "bad". With the Recipe for Disaster quest, I remember some sort of Dragon Fairy that "flambayed" your whatever-it-was when you killed the Black Dragon. And especially all the Desert history, their gods, their worshipers, ect. That's all very confusing! I think this could end up being a very well-put together, frequently used, unique, and interesting guide if done correctly.
  23. I've used Swiftswitch for nearly a year now and I simply love it. For those of you who haven't tried third party clients, you don't know what you're missing. There are so many features that are hard to go with out: capturing and saving screenshots with a single button click, looking up highscores and combat of some1 without having to change the page, easily accessible guides (although I hardly ever use 'em cause they're not Tip It quality :P ), of course the IRC chat, and tons of other functions I can't think of. I'm really glad Jagex reconsidered their Rule 7 and 9 updates because it would (and did) create a great uproar in the community and frankly, I think I'd still use it anyways. For right now however, I'm waiting until Strider upgrades it to be "Jagex-Friendly" so I'm stuck with using Internet Explorer again... oh well.
  24. Nice, idea, and great outfits! Man, I used to have a bunch of really cool ones, but I forget 'em now... Once I remember, I'll post mine on here.
