Because that is situational and mostly untrue? What do you mean by 'not worth obtaining'? You mean not worth getting 99 in a skill? I agree for things like cooking, but things like summoning are useful and needed to train to get to the best bits of the game. If you mean not worth wearing, well, yeah. I agree. But they make a good alternative to other tradable capes, and i believe they're the best for those without SW and Fcape. I have a SW cape but when I'm not doing a slayer task where you pray the whole time, such as abberant spectres/black demons/steel dragons I prefer to wear one of my skillcapes, as it gives a slightly better defence bonus than the SW cape, and I like the appearance of it. I think 99k is a fair price for a cape with good defence stats, and when trimmed, a fairly good prayer bonus for those without a SW cape. Just because someone has 99 in a skill shouldn't mean they get a free cape with a high defence bonus!

The amulet of fury has way better stats in defence, strength and prayer, and the glory only has 4 teleport charges, then you have to recharge it. And the gems are mostly a waste of time to bank unless you get a diamond or a dragonstone (can you get those from mining?) But I don't want this to turn into a debate about amulets so... banned for having numbers in your RuneScape name.
