Specialization for High End PvM: Need Gear and Clan Suggestions
I would disagree with Vampyrism being prioritized over accuracy auras. Vampyrism is alright, but the accuracy auras are definitely #1.

dvd- Specialization for High End PvM: Need Gear and Clan Suggestions
While the corruption abilities are good (perhaps one of the best basics), I would recommend getting more t90 weapons before spending 70m a piece for an ability. As for range vs mage... Range is a solid option for Araxxor, Raids, Nex, and ROTS (read: necessary for Ahrim's side), and the whole "magic is way better than range" thing is sort of a meme at this point. However, magic is better equal to or better than ranged just about everywhere that range isn't 100% required. Magic gets access to debuffs, ice barrage, Metamorphosis, large attack distance, and Dragon Breath, which help it keep a slight edge over ranged in some situations. I personally think that Sirenic is a waste of money unless you are using it at Araxxor, and the bonuses it gives for the hefty price tag is just not worth it if you don't have basic gear like full t90s. Reaper necklace is amazing at Vorago (dps), Araxxor (low enrage), Nex, and ROTS. Souls is a great substitute, but I would still work toward getting that Reaper Necklace. Elements > Magic (assuming you have high accuracy) Cruelty > Ranging (assuming you have high accuracy) Supreme Runic Accuracy > Dark Magic/Supreme Invigorate Supreme Sharpshooter > Supreme Invigorate My advice is to sell your Off-hand Ascension Crossbow and buy a Noxious Staff. An Attuned Crystal Chakram or Death Lotus Dart can be used as a range off-hand. This gives you access to both t90 magic and t90(ish) ranged. From that point, I'd work toward the second Ascension or dual Drygores. If I missed anything, I'm sorry.- It's Not Very Effective...

I've got two pairs of hiking boots, plus my doc martens. Probably not going to wear the doc's even though they're super comfy and I wear them pretty much every day. They just aren't the same amount of support and grip, so I'll pick one of the other pairs. As for a pack, I have an old one aluminum frame one that's not in amazing shape but should be good enough. I'm going with my friend who's done a couple several day backpacking trips. It's just the two of us though, so we're going to try to go as light as possible I think. But splitting the required gear between only two people is probably going to be tough. We should be sticking to less than 10 miles (15km) a day. It's fairly steep terrain at parts though. Worst case we'll just ditch early or reduce miles per day. 10 miles a day + terrain + you've never been backpacking is going to be super rough. How much is your pack going weigh? From experience, taking 5 days worth of food at once is a huge weight burden (although it gets lighter as the trip goes on). I would also recommend that you weigh down your pack and walk around a park, a trail, or something for an hour or two just to make sure that your pack fits right and that it isn't hurting your hips or shoulder, and if it does, make adjustments or get a different pack.- It's Not Very Effective...
