  1. Did they say anything about releasing names in the future (for example releasing names of inactive accounts that weren't inactive long enough for these batches)?
  2. It would've been nice if they released a list of the training methods that give you a chance for a shard. It would've been better if you've a chance with any method (excluding things like mini games and xp lamps).
  3. Yes. I really like the updates coming, though I'm more of a skiller so the combat things doesn't really interest me but it's good to see that they're doing something to restore what people loved pre-eoc and atleast making it somewhat doable :) I just wish that they reverted the combat formula though, it's confusing as shit to see level 200s, and when you look them up they have 99 def, 99 mage and like 18 attack and strength lol, would be so much easier to know if someone was a good overall combatter if we had the 138 system in place. I didn't know you could be 200 without all maxed combat... right because people want to spend 20 years or whatever for 200m in a skill come on now In the current EoC formula you need 99 in an offensive stat (Attack, strength, mage, range or summoning) + 99 Defence + 2 to be level 200 which is max. So basically people tend to go from 4 to 200 cb in like a week because they camp the abyss for 99 defence and mage and they're equal combat level as any comp caper with 99 in every other cb skill, it is kinda pathetic and should be changed but the poll has not gotten a lot of recognition (probably cause people don't even know it exists in the "Combat beta 2014" subsection on rsof, if they made a post on the homepage I'm sure more people would be aware of the unofficial poll. Combat lvl function is to reflect how well you will do in combat, not how much time you spent getting to that combat lvl. The old 138-system is worse then the current 200-system (biased towards melee, pures with better combat abilities as one would expect from cb lvl, etc), but needs improvement. There are better ways then combat lvl to show off your accomplishments (total lvl, capes, high score table, etc.)
  4. Might extend that to anything that's close to a teleport. With captain log's teleport you are back to your port quickly enough.
  5. I bought 200 spins this weekend (for 40 euro) which b( r )ought 1000-1100k Slayer xp (at 95 slayer), so you are looking at at least 25k xp / euro or at least 5k Slayer xp / spin (probably a bit higher at 99 Slayer)
  6. I am pretty sure I've had 2 randoms on the same day after the nerf. It might be that the chance of getting another random on the same day is substantially lowered, just like the chance of getting an effigy is lower if you already have another effigy.
  7. They are going to implement anti-bot measurements as well. Instead if giving us the total package of the 500k+ tier, we get nearly what the 500k+ tier package offered, reflecting the nearly reached mark of 500k votes, which is a nice gesture.
  8. I think you misunderstand my post, so I suggest to read it again and see what it says.
  9. I only voted after the 250k votes already where in. This means I voted for a version of 2007scape with no additional member fee and I only will play 2007scape for real, if this is the case. Saying I shouldn't have voted if I am not willing to pay an additional fee is not a valid statement, because my vote only changes the outcome if the 500k mark is reached which is what I want. In other words: I voted for a RS2007 that's playable without an additional fee and nothing else. For the people who complain about not being able for RS2007 seperately, you can also see it this way: you are paying seperately for RS2007, but on top of that Jagex gives you a free EOC-cookie. Who would say no to a free cookie? I won't, even if I don't really like the cookie.
  10. We are just over 250k votes now. Assuming that each vote is one person (which is probably not the case anyway) and reflects sincere interest in playing RS2007 (probably not), it would be more cost effective to pay membership for one month on a second account and vote again (hoping everybody else is this smart, which is probably not the case). Reaching to 500k votes means no more additional member fee for RS2007, so you earn back the investment of 1 month membership after just one month (2, because of the free first month after voting) Ofcourse this could be considered cheating and gives Jagex false information, but it's just a major flaw in the set up of the tiers they should have thought about in the first place.
  11. Yeah, it makes sense it works this way. And I also think it screwed up the attempts to find the right answers, especially if it also works the other way around (Meg gets lucky despite giving suboptimal advice)
  12. It seems that even the official excellent answers to Meg's questions from the Runescape Wiki isn't a gaurantee for a perfect adventure. I received a large lamp as a reward and I'm (almost / 99%) sure I picked the excellent answers . I don't mind and it makes sense. I also make mistakes the first time I try to kill for example a boss monster, despite preparing and trying to follow the advice of several guides. Are there others who didn't get a perfect adventure while giving the excellent answers? (For this week I'm 100% sure I picked the excellent answers)
  13. I think PoP will remain relevant because it offers the best xp/hour you can get for the associated skills. XP book special voyages might be look down upon atm, because getting items is top priority for most people at the moment. However, once you have all the upgrades and scrolls and have completed all the story missions, the xp book missions are a good alternative. I haven't looked in the actual numbers, but if you spent on average like 1 minute to send out a xp book mission for 20k xp, you are looking at 1200k xp/hour. Making items from trade goods give also big chunks of xp. For example, I think for people going for 200m in the associated skills, PoP is a very relevant training method.
  14. Set a bank pin, especially now you shared your wealth with the world.
  15. I never said you were lying, just pointing out it's impossible to get these results with only one deposit of money. I'm only pointing this out because it's (unintentionally) misleading. There's one explanation I didn't think of yesterday and that's you already had some credits from your workers build up without collecting the rewards when you made your last deposit. You cannot see how much rewards your workers collected, so when you made your final deposit before your membership ran out, it might have appeared as if you did this from scratch.
  16. Ok, this intrigued me. According to what you said in your video, this is what happened: - you put money in the coffer, you are not sure how much money (you think 2m, but you say - you started at 100% approval rating - you left your kingdom alone for ~1.5 years (no improvement of approval rating, no extra money added to coffers) According to what you showed in your video (assuming you only showed items you collected from MTK) - your end result was 97059 maples and 3336 herbs According to the rules of MTK we know: - every day an amount of gp is taken from your coffers equal to 10% of the total amount in your coffers with a maximum of 75k - the profit from this amount for that day is equal to (your approval rating)*(the amount taken from the coffers) - your approval rating drops every day with 1%, your approval rating never drops below 25% What is known about MTK in guides (tip.it) - from the total amount of profit items are "bought" if you collect the items - each maple log costs 56.1 gp and each herb costs 826.4 gp What I don't know for sure - if and how the numbers are rounded The calculations: - As I already have shown above, in order to get the results shown in your video the amount you put in the coffers at the start should've been at least 8197k (actually 8201879 gp, because you collected a 97059 maple logs, not exactly 97k (this is the minimum amount if your approval rating was 100% every day) - Assuming you put enough money in your coffers so each day 75k is removed and you don't improve your approval rating: the first 75 days 5625k is removed from your coffers resulting in a profit of 3543k (75k*(1+0.99+0.98...+0.26). - After these first 75 days each day only 25% of 75k is added to the profit until the coffers hit 750k - After that 10% of your coffers is removed and 25% of this amount is added to the profit. If you assume the coffers empty till infinity of the remaining 750k gp, only a profit of 187500 is expected. (This is amount differs, depending how things are rounded, but it isn't a major difference) - from this you can calculated that it took 75+248 days to reach 750k in your coffers (total profit=profit from first 75 days + 0.25*75k*(days till 750k gp is reached)+187.5k ==> 8201879 = 3543k+0.25*75k*248+187.5k -from this you can calculate the total amount that is put into the coffers in total: 5625k+75k*248+750k=~25m So, assuming that you got 19m profit selling your items, you actually lost ~6m and didn't make 17m profit. This would be true, if it is possible to put 25m into the coffers. The max amount you can put into the coffers is 7500k (which is also lower as the minimum amount needed at 100% approval rating all the time) As I've shown, it's impossible to get these results shown in the video under the circumstances that are given in the video. So, either the poster added money to the coffers in between or someone else did it (which could point to another person having acces to that account)
  17. The value of the nests contents are random, but what isn't random is the amount spent for each basic resource (in your case maples and herbs). For each maple 56.1 gp are spent and for each herb 826,4 coins are spent. You collected 97k maples and a total of 3336 herbs. You claim that you only put 2 mil in the coffers, this cannot be true. Even if you assume that your approval rating stays at 100%, meaning no waste, the minimum amount you put in the coffers is at least 8197k (97k*56.1 from maples + 3336*826,4 from herbs). Because the approval rating drops, you probably put alot more in the coffers then this.
  18. Just recalculated something and there is indeed evidence that there is also some rounding in between. But does it really matter? I mean, it leads to a difference of 1 or maybe a few less reward items. Nothing shocking, isn't it?
  19. Sent a Trader on a 2000 chimes and 800 jade mission, got 2798 chimes and 1056 jade. It confirms my suspicions, but it doesn't change anything about equation. All 4 possibilities of combinations still apply. Bah. Anyone else willing to help? Preferably use a Merchant since he has an odd double-digit multiplier. Also, preferably on a voyage with chimes ending in #50. I've sent out a 500 cherrywood mission with a 25% from the merchant (a=1.25), 5% bonus from warehouse (b=1.05) and 10% bonus from the fortune of the sea (c=1.1). The end result was 721 cherrywood. The formula for the end result is quite simple reward=(base reward)*a*b*c=500*1.25*1.05*1.1=721.875, rounded down to 721. I checked the formula for different voyages and it always fitted. It also fit with your examples. Since the bonuses are multiplied and the result is only rounded down at the end, the order of multiplier doesn't matter.
  20. As far as I can see you are have either really bad luck or are doing something wrong. As I look to your log usually only one ship succeeds out of three. If it's not just bad luck, it also could point to mistakenly sending the wrong ship with a lower succes rate on a voyage. If you send out a ship from the shipyard menu, not from the ship menu, you usually have to select the right ship to send out. After sending out two ships, you can't go wrong anymore, so that ship has the intended succes rate, explaining the 1/3 succes rate. Then again, it could just be really bad luck.
  21. Just saw a banner after logging in about a Festive Aura giving a 50% XP boost each day during december. Because it's an aura the xp boost is probably limited by it's duration and recharge time, but that's quite a gift from Jagex anyway.
  22. Well, I will try extreme magics then. I have enough of them to last me a life time so it isn't a real waste.
  23. I just started doing barrows for fun. I use the black salamander with their mage attack style while attacking the melee brothers. I was wondering if the magic attack is boosted by an extreme magic potion or an extreme range potion (some sources, including tip.it say that a salamander is considered a range weapon)
  24. Isn't there a $200 dollar limit (or something like that) a day for buying SoF spins? This is a very limiting factor. My very rough estimation (based on my own limited data on average xp/spin) is that buying spins for 200m in all skills would cost something in the region of $150k to $300k. If the $200 dollar limit is true, this means it would take 2-4 years to get 200m xp in all skills by using SoF solely.
