  1. because the whole point of it is to try and get feedback, at least by any numbers they collect from you doing the events, if not from posts on forums...
  2. Grotworms are considerably emptier based on the one world I checked.
  3. Depending on your other skill levels, joining a DG clan as a "skiller" would be a good idea. Besides Smithing scroll and willow/maple resource dungeon there's no real efficiency disadvantage in f2p to putting off dungeoneering for non-combatants.
  4. Threshold comboing is so deadly because people can use thresholds from magic/range/melee. They weren't balanced for use like that. Making them cost adreneline only means you cant finish off with an ultimate.
  5. Something you could do at lvl 81 would be to magic potion/vecna skull (or just magic potion) to 86 and do plank make. Due to the cost of magic potions (vecna's skull has a cool down and can't be used by itself), its going to come in at a slight loss per hour like 10k gp for mahogany, but the materials will temporarily use up your 7 million (you'll be able to sell planks to get it back). If you have a bigger cash pile (and just 7 mil you wish to spend) and also wish to level smithing, superheating gold ore is also good. Considering at your smithing level, it costs more gp per experience gained to train smithing any other way, the magic xp could be seen as "free."
  6. I think it would be interesting to make a more comparative list between doing a profitable method of some skills, vs doing them efficiently, vs doing the most afkable method, vs doing the "daily method". Example of most afkable: ivies over artic and banking gold ore vs superheat (both using juju of course). Example of daily method: battlestaves from varrock, skills from circus, peng points for x skill, Bork for all charms, woodcutting with those evil trees, the new hunter one, etc.
  7. Enchanted bolts require crossbows with requirements 20 levels higher than their crossbow counterparts. The requirement is raised by 10 for tipping the bolts, and other 10 for enchanting them. Player Owned Ports are supposed to work similar to "Manage Thy Kingdom" only you have a captain get you "recipes" for gear that requires 85-90 attack, range, magic etc. Should be out in first half of 2013. Going back to the first question: as far as firing the higher end enchanted bolts, I think Chaotic crossbow and Armadyl will be the only ones able to. I believe Dragon Crossbow can fire ruby enchanted bolts.
  8. Though Turmoil is capped at healing 250 or something a hit, it might be worth getting since it does not interfere with using abilities. Food like always stops an attack, but it also takes away from your bar. I realize, as most probably do in practice, that you can always heal with some spells (but requires a shield and ultimates cost you the bar) AND you can also heal after using an ultimate. Turmoil finishes Varrock Elite tasks (the other one most people need is 88 smith). Doing Elite Varrock is worth it if you buy daily battlestaves and do Bork daily.
  9. I've held off on replying to this topic since I don't have any statistical data and I'm probably training it wrong, but I did from 83-85 since update. I noticed a non scientific 10% drop in xp hourly, but what seemed like a higher drop in points earned. This may be to my change in methods and the difficulty one has prior to 85 with getting around highest level of runespan. I used to wait until I got a yellow or at least a blue wizard in general view before I hunted the yellow one down. Now I try to find a wizard when I get the message. This also means I am not in my choice of islands, and I have to spend a lot more tokens hopping around. I have yet to see a runesphere spawn on anything but the lowest level. Now that I'm 85, I think joining those FC and syncing is important due to the update. Since they did not nerf the yellow wizard xp, I kind of assumed that became more important to find to get the most xp per hour. It seems to take longer to get essence. A lot of the time I tended to just let my essence run out and grab more from a cloud or whatever it is. If someone has siphon success rates from the esshounds and other monsters from prior to update I can collect some post update and let you know.
  10. Can I use the can citadel powerup to boost summoning by 10 and complete the Ardougne Elite Tasks (if I have less than 93 summoning)? I know it works for effigies.
  11. Yeah I did what you mentioned most of the time. I had issues with the general store guy wandering and running out of symbols there though. I believe my friend might've botted this looking back on it (no way he clicked this fast), but he got super high xp from doing wheat (nothing I could reproduce). Maybe there was some sort of bug with wheat picking at some point. I know nothing about bird cage's xp, being f2p the whole time of classic. Regardless the most productive thing might've been high alching the symbols/ platebodies stuck in one's bank :)
  12. I would think degradable Armour would make it less beginner friendly for new players. Having everything degradable might fix the problem with some Beta tiers not having pk armour; people don't pk in dragon for example but do pk in rune and barrows. Then again I've never seen anyone pk in nex armour unless they got it for free.
  13. The figure 8 for firemaking someone else mentioned from runescape classic. Another one worth mentioning is high alching wheat in a field. Due to alchemy being 130xp back then, and wheat picking up not requiring an animation, it was like 200k xp per hour. Another thing I did right before RS2 hit was kill as many cows as I could, since it was a lot faster to kill them in classic compared to Runescape 2. (I'd venture to say this is no longer the case). Something else thats no longer the case is similar xp rates for members and non-members training methods.
  14. Pretty sure Shades did not get a hp adjustment. It seems to me that for f2p, high level monsters that are good xp don't drop anything. Such as red spiders, hellhounds, etc. What bothers me is that range is not balanced for training based on what I found. I was unable to locate anything decent level with an arrow weakness. Lessers are bolts only and f2p seems to only have access to bronze level equipment there.
