When you first logged into RS3 you had that popup. It said the outcome will choose who will have the same fate as Guthix. I think they actually changed the wording. I am pretty sure it was originaly that. But now this is it. Join the battle of Lumbridge World Event and determine which God reigns supreme and which God is cast into oblivion.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
I wish they would scrap SoF, SGS can stay for all I care. Its only cosmetics + with the Loyalty intergration it will be taken more lightly. That would make a rise in player satisfaction. But Jagex would also be put at a massive loss. Although I expect Solomons is the main money maker. Due to it being a 100% thing you're getting the item you want rather than spinning your cash away on a few coins.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Constitution + cooking is idiotic. Because how much health you have obviously effects how you eat a peice of food same goes with cooking. I dont know how to cook cake but still i am very good at eating cake. And their excuses was it was needed to expand. Nothing was ever expand upon. Even now we have like 9k+ lp. I hate numbers being that high. It was uneeded.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
What I have always said about monsters is, its jagex's lack of creativity when making them. If they didnt want them 'boring' they just need to vary up the type of monsters they bring out. Instead of simply giving them some stats and a attack based on what ever side of the combat triangle. They were just lazy/uncreative. Its pretty simple. Its like the Constitution update, they said it was needed yet they did not even use it.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
What exactly is there to discuss you say? If people kept civil it could end up as a thread where the problems are outlined. Solutions are formed, to possibly be used oneday to reform RuneScapes game health and playerbase.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Concidering it was likely MMGs choice for Micro Transactions. A different CEO may think. Wait a minute I dont like SoF but SGS is good as it doesnt effect the games economy on a daily basis. He may also instruct dramatic changes and a second rework of combat. I expect MMG has alot of input into updates when they are on a big scale or possibly effect the player base.

I wasnt reffering to money, I was talking about people with fresh vision. Its more of "They've had their go, maybe this guy could do it better"

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
I honestly think RuneScapes current CEO and Head of Development have had their run. If I could I would change them. They've had their impact for many many years and its only declining faster and faster. Im sure theres alot of J-Mods that have a strong vision for the game that goes against people like Mod Marks but their voices cannot be heard. I honestly would love to have them anonymously right out a plan they would love to see happen to runescape. Submit them to who the Investors allow the players to vote on which one they love the most. And work at that. And who evers plan wins gets the status of Head of Development

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Im sorry, but there were countless threads against it. They were very ignorant and listened only to the feedback they wanted to hear. And "proving the whiners wrong" they only proved them right. You cant blame the players when Jagex did nothing but throw them aside. We had NO input in the core of the system. Only tweaks. And even then if they are listened to thats a rare sight. Theres alot of people that are constructive. You just choose to look at the ragers. Remember even for the people for it. They are whinny against the people who hate it. That also works both ways.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
The whole adapt or quit thing is very harsh when it comes to the basics and hard work of peoples accounts. Something like the NIS is something you can just adapt to. But when the core of their reason of playing is ripped apart. I think they have every right to protest. Whilst most wont keep it civil. Alot do. And these people are ignored, and also treated with disrespect. The general forum (RSOF) community to me is discusting when it comes to that. Jagex nor Pro-Jagex players dont realise what debates and compromise are. Its very important in keeping the player base healthy in terms of being happy and keeping the actual game in good shape. EoC to me just wasnt worth it. If Mod Mark wasnt so eager to prove hes a big man. Maybe he would of stepped back and let the players have their input from the start of development to the end. That would of been wise. Tweaks on a forced system just dont cut it.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
The only baseless conjecture and opinion construed as fact that I've seen so far in this thread is your post - everyone else on both sides is at least explaining their observations instead of making generic comments with nothing to back them up. I like to think its them in denial that the game is going down the shitter. Mmm between the whining and claiming to be the heart of the game (laughable even before the free-trade removal categorically proved the game could go on without em) and the view of 'I only want to pk therefore it is ok to bot my stats on a new pure and rwt to get him gear' that dominated the public stage of what PVPers are ruined them. I dont think you should be attacking people like that because they play how they enjoy playing. If Jagex random f'ed up all your work. You would be disapointed too. The community is the heart of the game, yet they are cutting them off one by one. Thats alarming in its own right. What doesnt help is people like you putting them down one by one, it doesnt help the game nor does it even effect you anyway. Before and after updates such as EoC. Not all PVPer botted, Not all RWT. You get that in every style of play you see. They were forced to be focal to try and regain the game they enjoyed its as simple as that.

On the micro transaction part. I wouldnt mind it if it was only SGS. And at the same time It would be nice if we could turn off all public cosmetics due to the fact people like to know what others are wearing. And I agree with all of what 999134. They killed alot of players just by killing their accs also.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
To me with EoC only PVM aint "that bad" but most aspects of PVP are. Theres little variety left. Also, I was never mad about the combat. I was just mad how these "developers" were blind enough to make a system that kills alot of the games content. It was not worth it and it never will be.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Just to note, I dont think Jagex have invest in that much more staff. I am sure Mod Mark stated they doubled the team. When I read reports they were still in the 500 employees figure. So there I think they just lie to look good. I am not 100% sure on them numbers. But if I find the sources I will post. Dont have a go at me for that statement.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Looking at OSRS, I can safely say that this is not as positive as you would like it to be. Go to World 301, spam "Buying [item]", trade the guy, accept, "ty", then you forget about them. And then I didn't even mention that everyone and their dogs are out to try and scam you; Is that really your idea of a strong community? Back in actual 2007 it was people scamming with "The Trust Game", armour trimming and replacing items in trade. Now the difference is that they use different scams. The current situation is more or less the same as it was back then, too. The difference being that instead of being players bankstanding and talking at Varrock west bank, they do it around the four G.E. pillars. And then you go at World 2/3 G.E. and see all the players standing there talking and buying items. Scamming will always be around. The only reason it was happening easier back then was the fact they didnt always have the anti scam things such as the ! over a switched item. The point is. People engaged with eachother. And for the comment about OSRS is dying, sure yeah. But EoC is dying at a faster rate. http://services.rune...300,79,65106671 This thread explains that point. As for w2 ge. World 2 isnt that big anymore. Theres hardly ever been a maxed out world since EoC. I also never suggested turning back the clock. I was just saying these little things helped the game get a stronger community compared to what it is now. The problem with 07 scape is it doesnt update like current. If it did then it would definately be more popular. Ill also state i never used it as evidence for being "better". But certainly certain aspects are. Each era has its ups and downs. Theres nothing wrong with taking a few steps back to see where they messed up.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
I dont really see it like that. If I take before free trade for example. The community was much strong before 2007 due to the constant talking and interacting with one another. This lead to a strong community where you all kept track of prices. You all set out to talk and trade. It was in general a good experience. With the GE involved. Talking declined, the community declined. And the overall feel to the game went. Most people you come accross now are very blunt. And thats not a good thing to welcome a new player with. Its simular to real life, social networks allow people to be keyboard warriors. But when it comes to talking to a person in person. The average person now shits themselves, because of lack of communication that way. As for the MMO market. Its much bigger than one type of game. Next year we see the Elder Scrolls online. That'll be a different take to online play I expect. WoW is not RuneScape. That has its own end of game type market. Its the same with FPS. Fact is RuneScape is RuneScape. Not any other market. If it tried to merge into any other market in its current state it would only be burried.

itt: People who don't work at Jagex but claim to know everything that happens inside the company. Also, you're basing yourself on the assumption that your first sentence is true, which it very well may not be. And then you go on by calling the JMods ignorant and saying we should fire them, which takes away from your credibility. You need to think out of the box. ;) The game was born in 2001, and ever since then it is slowly but surely sliding towards the day on which it will die. It isn't, because micro-transactions aren't RWT. Also if you read the first sentance. It says seem. (as you added an S seems) Seems means from speculation. Theres nothing wrong with my statement nor right with it. And yeah sorry I missed the "Joke" xD Fact is, if Mod Marks vision was so great. The decline would be MUCH smaller. Its shocking how hes still head with the track record over the last 2 years. Its great hes passionate. But his judgement is clouded alot. You can tell this by the way he answers questions. The speech he likes to use. His words have always been maniplitive. I dont think its your place to say that I shouldn't say that fireing him is a bad thing to say. Because honestly. I truely think it should of been done years ago. Its my opinion. And as others have said, they waste countless amounts of cash on things like stellardawn. They even gave it a release date and it didnt follow through. Its not only embarrasing but a huge waste of money. Expecially if they are constantly improving their graphics and engines. If they ever picked it back up it would need to play alot of time in catch up.

Runescape Dying? [Discussion/Observation]
Jagex seem to think profits stop the game from dying, this is untrue. They'll boost their income, tempory. But they'll continue to loose their players at a rapid pace. From this their income will start to fall due to less customers. This will lead to staff cuts to keep up profit. Leading to less game content and more unhappy players. Eventually it will go in a loop untill RuneScape will just be servers with little to no updates. The game its self is in bad health. Mostly due to the EoC aftermath and also lack of gold and item sinks. What also doesnt help is constant XP promotions and boosts. What we actually need to fix the game is either Mod Mark and Mod MMG to come out of their ignorance and take a few steps back to look at the core of the game and what made it great. Allowing them to make decisions to maybe reverse some content they thought was "cool" and make the game healthy even if it pisses a few lazy people off. Or they could fire Mod Mark due to the fact hes very ignorant to his ideas. Hes closed off and selfish. You can tell by his speach that if its in his head its whats happening. Hes building the game for himself. Hes way to eager to put his mark on the game that he doesnt realise hes messing it up. Hardly, it grew up until 2007 then dropped after the free trade removal. Got on a steady line then declined due to Jagex new dirrection of the game. They've been focusing on bringing new players in so much. They ripped up places such as tavelry which is now a maze and probably would frighten new players as theres too much going on. They've had to rework tutorials way to many times. And in the line of this way of thinking they neglected current players to a point most were not happy with how they had been treated. They dont realise theres much more leaving than coming into them game. They need to patch up the leaving while slowly working on the increase right now. The leaving is the bigger number see. It needs to slow down, for the incoming players to catch up.
