"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
constrictor replied to Da_Latios's topic in Off-Topic
Would confirm RPG's suspicions about your self-esteem, particularly the reaction "why would they ever like me". Honestly, if I asked you to list ten qualities men would find attractive about you, and then ten reasons men might not like you, which would you find easier? The latter and the reasons are so apparent Yet I imagine that your average man would find it much easier to come up with 10 likable qualities for the average woman than 10 unlikable ones... I'm sure the same could be said for the average woman finding it easier to come up with 10 likable qualities for the average man than 10 unlikable ones? It's just different when it's not you in question I find. I could come up with reasons women might like me just as easily as reasons they might not. Don't be so hard on yourself, it's easy to overreact to one's own flaws - the important thing is to remember that everyone has flaws. Thanks, I'll try to bear that in mind. And in addition to that, someone who doesn't realize that about themselves, AND YOU, isn't someone worth spending time to invest in, they'll just end up being selfish etc etc. -

Let me rephrase, in the past month we've started having serious discussions. How did this happen, and I approve. It's cause Zaaps never joins in on the conversations..wait no that's not why. -

He musta missed all the stuff with Cow. Also, Nex, don't visit a Universitlaisrrjtndivsbs church. Visit individual denominations/synagogues, etc. you'll get a much better representation then. -

*applause* That moment when Zaaps is even more awesome then I originally thought. Hehe. But really, people nees to realize this in the Christian community. Also that other "schools of thought" for lack of a better word, should be contemplated as well (Platonian Theory anyone??). -

I agree and disagree. I think the blame of selfish intentions like hurting others etc is very often put on religion, and about how one should interpret how God is working in their life on a personal level. However, I also think religion should have community for a reason. Especially in respects to my personal faith, in the Bible, God is a trinity, He is in Himself a community, and thus I feel there is certainly an aspect of relgion that one can gain from being community with others. -

Well, actually it had finished the mission like 2.5 hours before I checked it, so apparently it didn't even go into the dry dock. :P All my missions I have shitty crew/boat parts so I can barely get 70% on stuff. Like what the actual [bleep]. -

Huh. No offence, but Catholicism kind of puts me off. Talk about legalistic. :> Well yea its a turn off for me. Usually because it precedes frustrating political views on abortioning and rights for lgbt's. And (stereotype that I shouldn't believe but notice a lot) catholic girls go really rebelliously wild. Not offended at all. None of my family is religious anymore. It was a cultural thing at the time. Its kinda hard to not be catholic if everyone else around you was. The only part I would be offended by is that, peoples religions shouldn't be a turn on or turn off, they should be something you do for yourself. If that makes sense. I agree entirely. Personally, I am Christian, and probably align most of my beliefs with the Presbyterian church doctrine (but I would also say I tend to lean more towards nondenominational). However, As much as religion is about the beliefs, etc. being a Christian, I personally think that how we percieve "christian doctrine" is wrong. Even you guys were saying that choosing a religion is like choosing which is going to "win" for lack of a better explanation. I think that the way that the church views Christianity now adays is the root cause of this - in that, everyone thinks one doctrine has to be solely correct or blah blah. But that's ridiculous, people in a Chinese culture are not going to perceive what the Bible says in the same way that people in southern Georgia are going to perceive what the Bible says. So, personally, I believe that outside of the core ultimate truths that the Bible has given us (Jesus Christ died for us, He is man, Son, God, and Holy Spirit, there was a beginning to this world, God is eternal, etc etc (I probably sound like a crazy right now to people who are unreligious, but whatever)) we cannot fully determine what the Bible is trying to communicate to anyone person. Probably rambling but yeah. Call me crazy, but not gonna lie, having a relationship with Jesus is cool. EDIT: Also, if any of you guys are ever curious about an interesting book to read about religion/similar to how I view my religion, read Blue Like Jazz. It's quite good. /tangent -

Erm. Must I really answer this? Another WGS quest bites the dust. Last few things I need to do are Swan Song, 55 Hunter, and 65 Farming. While getting those levels slowly-ish, I also need to get 270 QPs, so I'm probably gonna start the Mahjarhraat quest line, possibly the Vyrewatch quest line, and also finish ALL the novice quests I haven't finished. Hopefully will do Swan Song tonight, but we'll see. Other stuff may be finished by the time I leave for Italy, but who knows. -
