I can see that. "Zaros? Who is Zaros? Why should I care that he's returning?" *Later on* "Why do I need to do this quest if Zaros already returned? Why are these people so ominous? This doesn't make sense."

Could someone tell me why we have run energy in runescape? They mentioned in one of the Q&A sessions that they're looking at removing run energy at some point.

Tbf it could kinda be an optional extra rewards kinda req. Like don't do it = incorporeal Seren spirit Do do it = Fully functioning Seren who can give you free stoof. "Seren can you give me full chaotics?" "No." "Why not?" "Becuz u suk. #swag."

That's not even close to what they said.

11-Dec-2013 - The Bird and the Beast (World Event 2)

No, but history has told us that Jagex likes to hide little red herrings whenever an NPC predicts something. Saradomin Vs Armadyl is going to be a very tough choice, however I feel the winds of popularity will go towards Saradomin purely on name recognition. The majority of players probably don't know jack about the sixth age alone, let alone a decent level of lore outside of "I killed this guy and he dropped loot." -

I redeemed the remaining charges from last year, ended up getting 217k range and 472k agility exp. Definitely do this if you didn't use your items last year. -
Tell us how you really feel.

I haven't seen poll figures like that since Vladimir Putin won Chechnya with 108% of the vote.

I never understood that. For as long as I can remember, Jagex has claimed to keep extensive logs on how items make their way through the community, to track down gold buyers and sellers and mule accounts, yet they also claimed for a long time to be unable to help people who lose items due to bugs because they are unable to tell who is lying.No. They can tell who is lying, it's just that so many people think it's cute to lie that it's incredibly labor-intensive to wade through every request. Easy solution: Permaban people who are obviously lying, with no opportunity to appeal. Throw that warning into the header and you'll see the fake requests dry up fast. A little over-the-top, but it'd work Think of it as a deterrent. I'd rather see a few jackasses get banned than have Jagex summarily close the thread every time their mediocre bug testing causes people to lose items, complaining about the number of false claims.

Hasn't that been Jagex's mantra for years though? We've had updates and quests fall into oblivion because the guy who worked on them quit, the majority of Q&A's being answered with "I don't know," and more. I started playing a few months after RS2 began, and they never really developed into the mindset of "we're a business now, we have to act like one" despite the major growth in profits, staff, and investors. I figured the introduction of investors who knew how businesses should operate would set them straight, but apparently that isn't so. That's part of the reason why you see stuff like MechScape and 8Realms getting to near release, with the latter actually going into open beta, only for Jagex to suddenly realize that the game's weren't fun.
-
Indeed it is rather shocking how they can't find much dev time at all for updates for people who don't pay their server upkeep, utility or staff costs...it's almost as if they are trying to please the people who earn them profit and afford them continued employment. Because not making sure new players have a good first impression of the game is great for the game's longterm health, am I right? This argument was okay in 2006 when every multiplayer game required a subscription except for Runescape. It isn't now, when subscription MMOs are dying (If not already dead) and the industry standard is freemium. Because there is so little to do in free to play that Jagex needs to regularly update it, am I right? The people who constantly whine here about a lack of free to play updates aren't worried about newcomers, they're freeloaders looking for more free stuff. That's fine, don't expect Jagex to listen or care about the opinions of the "pure f2p 4 lyfe" crowd.

Jagex's this or that questions have a tendency to be easier than "cake or death?" Fun fact: The RuneScape quest release schedule was the inspiration for the dragons in Game of Thrones. Always on their way, never quite here.
-
2014: The year Jagex handed the inmates the keys to the asylum. I can't wait to see how big the population of "I'm afraid of change" players vote no down the line on 100% of the questions ever.

Or... you can just wait and see. Come on, this is day 5/6 and you people are all assuming the event has a plateau'd renown handout. Besides, if enough people are [bleep]ing (and it seems like there are) Jagex will "fix" it in due time. I have no worries I'll get most everything by event's end and I missed day 1. This is Tip.it, where if an update isn't killing RuneScape, it's killing RuneScape. As far as collection goes, my lore personality took the collector personality and left his unconscious body in the trunk of my car. I'd rather have players restricted to picking a side and sticking with it, assuming you can get all of the faction's rewards regardless of who wins. -

I claim this thread in the name of Armadyl. Shouldn't you Bandos followers be working on how to color within the lines? -
Being better than a hypothetical ridiculously bad update doesn't make this one good. I wouldn't even mind that much if they'd said "we're nerfing summoning training, and this is why". But for some reason they've decided that this is a buff. That's not hypothetical. Jagex said at Runefest that that's what they want to do.

Too bad its shit. You now make pouches at the bank, and then have to take the pouches to the oblisk. It basically adds a step with no purpose. For me it brings back memories of preparing spells in D&D. Also anything that frustrates RuneScape's efficiency trolls is guaranteed to end in hilarity.
-
"We've made a significant change to the way Summoning pouches are made. Now, pouches, shards, charms and tertiary ingredients can be combined anywhere to make uncharged pouches. You can then take these to an obelisk to render them usable, and to earn your Summoning XP. This will ease up much of the inventory wrangling once necessary to train and use this important skill." My body is ready.

That's assuming the "Guthix as true neutral!balance" thing is still relevant at all. The balance league mostly converted into the godless when Guthix died. Nah, the Godless mostly just want a world where no gods exist at all. I figured Guthixians would be the godless, since his wish was for the gods to remain banished.

Daily Challenge: Cavefish Task: Cook 26 bacon stacks. A sign that cavefish will be made of bacon soon.

Jagex put in the blatant references to My Little Pony characters in Player Owned Ports, so it's easy to see the connection with other content.

10/29/13 - RuneScape Close To Eradicating Gold Farming
Omali replied to Omali's topic in General Discussion
I see it as a growing understanding that developers have lost the war against people buying their way in games, and adding in restrictions only serves to piss off the regular customers. For many developers, it's a win-win situation: They gain some extra cash, keep the customers who would've bought gold anyway, and prevent someone else from profiting off of their game.
