saddest movie ever
Totally forgot about that one. Yup, my eyes got a little wet during that movie. 'Little wet'? Pfft, you were bawling like the rest of us, and you know it. Radio, hands down. Schindler's List might've beat it, but it wasn't teary sad; the story was just depressing, yet inspirational. Aw I loved that film, it was sad but quite uplifting at the same time.

first aid
I'm not qualified, but i've done quite a lot through school. I'd feel fairly confident in most first aid type situations, recovery position, check airways, all that jazz.

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
That's more of a departure from normal species functioning though. Homosexuality is just a variation of an attribute of normal species functioning.

Microsoft sued over Xbox Live outage
[hide] They may claim damages, as it is technically a material breach of contract, unless the contract covers this chance. Found this little thing which is going to screw them over. [/hide] Yeah well if there's a clause or something that's fair enough. Just saying, in a consumer/supplier relationship the consumer is entitled to claim if they've paid for a service they haven't received, it doesn't have to be anything to do with "a lack of other things to do"

Microsoft sued over Xbox Live outage
Technically, if the customers are paying for their service of X-box live then they have every right to demand some form of compensation when they can't receive it. I know what they demanded is probably excessive, but when it comes to the real world you can't all just be nice and expect it all to work out. If you want to be treated with the respect that a consumer deserves from a company, then now and again you've got be aggressive. Sad but true.

Learning any songs at the moment?
Started learning The White Stripes' cover of Son House's Death Letter Blues. It's an interesting one for me, it's in open G tuning and is played with slide guitar which is a nice new technique to practice with a song. The main riffs aren't too hard, it's getting that real feel for the song that only comes with experience, and learning how to improvise all the fills.

Homosexuality - Gay Bashing?
Did he? Really? Well in that case, damn, you've got us there. Hundreds of years of gay rights activism knocked back because people still believe in the inerrancy of Genesis. Do I care about gay marriage? Of course not, what's it got to do with me? It's ridiculous to try and impose your own elitist morality onto someone elses personal life. It does make me laugh though when people start panicking when they hear that someone they know is gay, suddenly worried that he'll start hitting on them all left right and centre.

Completely differently ideology which doesn't scapegoat minority groups and push social darwinism. You're confusing the communist ideology with the Stalinist regime. i dont care what wikipedia says, theres areas of birmingham and london and other places where there is signs up saying stuff like "NO WHITES ON THIS STREET ALLOWED", "Immigrants" are NOT integrating, the older ones did but the "New generation" of them mostly dont even speak english. Having trouble reading? His source is an offical census, not Wikipedia. Also, baseless anecdotes which are completely unsourced and for all we know completely made up don't exactly give your argument much credibility.

Most embarassing thing ever to happen to you?
Got very drunk one night on holiday, woke up surrounded by vomit but somehow determined to make the most of the day. Got up, still feeling very sick and throwing up a lot, waited for a bit then headed down to breakfast with all the family and friends, walked into the breakfast room, someone comes up to me slaps me on the back asking me what I want for breakfast, and I promptly throw up, in front of everyone. 'Course, embarassing stuff that happens when you're drunk doesn't count, since you're never embarassed at the time.

Please, don't spam. Locked.- Champion Your Band 4 - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds by How2PK
Great stuff, I love Nick Cave and his kind of dark attitude towards music, which is reflected even in his touching ballads. All I really know is Abbattoir Blues/The Lyre so I might try From Her To Eternity, some of his darker stuff. I know you didn't talk about it, but I also loved Grinderman's album, is From Her To Eternity like that kind of raw energy?- What movie(s) did you last see?
Blood Diamond I came out of this film feeling slightly world weary, slightly disillusioned with western pretences and even slightly nihilistic about the situation in Africa. A very powerful film, good action but the real power lies in the reality of the whole thing.- What are you listening to right now!?
Shake A Fist - Hot Chip- The Killers Fans?
Hot Fuss is one of those rare albums that i'll listen to all the way through and never be tempted to skip any songs. Sam's Town is pretty good as well. They're a good band, I like them, I just don't think they're anything too special. - peter panda-chp.1
