  1. Alone, Together - The Strokes
  2. Any manufactured crap that comes out of any of these talents shows (X-Factor, Pop Idol) and stays at the top of the charts for weeks purely due to marketing and PR.
  3. If anyone's got any tips/programs for making playlists of your iTunes library, please let me know, because I really can't be bothered typing all those out.
  4. Yeah I did actually find that quite sad. But kind of uplifting at the same time, because [hide]you know he's gone to rest where he belongs, and Solomon gets what he and his family deserves for all their honesty and hard work[/hide]
  5. I haven't read any of the books, so I don't have anything to compare them to. That said, I still stand by Casino Royale being the best bond film i've ever seen. Bond's raw, brutal and heartbroken. You don't see him like that in any of the others. Sure he can be cold, but he also bleeds, and looks like he suffers. To be honest though, I think they're all great films, and they're all different. Connery and Moore are the classics for me, i've got a lot of those on tape, but Pierce Brosnan was the first one I watched a lot when I was young.
  6. I'm normally pretty rational, but at times i'm a sucker for acting on emotional instincts.
  7. I guess i'd be more focused, the internet can be really distracting when it's just there all the time. I'd also be a lot less world wise and knowledgeable. I've learnt a lot from the internet.
  8. Beyond The Sea - Bobby Darin
  9. September/The Joker - Earth Wind & Fire / Fatboy Slim
  10. No offence here, because your family's probably been touched by war more than mine has, but your views on the whole thing are still a little naive.

I won't go into the details, but the best day of my life and the worst day of my life happened in the same week. I think it's enough to say the worst day made me openly weep curled up on the floor. I've never been cut so deep.

Hey I'm really sorry to hear that, best wishes for all of you and I hope his road to recovery is as short and painless as possible. Snap. Stats on tuesday and economics on thursday. Ah well, shouldn't be too bad. Looking forward to getting back to normal school routine. I'll probably go to the gym later as well.

I mean how can you state "I was under the impression that the basic freedoms came with the caveat that exercising your liberties should not negatively impact someone else's ability to do the same." this as true? Why should expressing our freedoms not limit the freedoms of others? Ah, right. Well it's basically the libertarian view which I believe in. If you start from the premise that everyone's life is their own, then what right do we have to tell them what they should do with it? You also start with the premise that some rights are more fundamental than others, the right to life, the right to health etc. And because everyone's equal, you cannot prioritize someone else's exercised freedoms over those of others.
  14. I doubt that. Spam, locked.
  15. ^^NICE guitar man, sounds great too :)
  16. Is that experimental music? I think it's a joke, as although my music reading is poor at best, I think I see at least 256th notes in the top right hand corner and thats just silly. I know it looks crazy, but seriously, experimental music's like that. We looked at some examples when doing music GCSE and they were actually like that. :P Stuff like throwing a dice to see what note they'd play, changing costumes, all that.

So Kashi, you're going through your rebellious anarchistic stage. I've been there. But trust me, anarchy doesn't work in the real world. Hit the nail on the head. What is this idea grounded in? The Golden Rule? I'm not really sure what you mean by that. Do you mean which ethical stance subscribes to that view?
  19. That's a good one actually. Ignoring the obvious set back on philosophy, I think reason, and probably science would be set back a few hundred years. People would maybe be more religious, and we'd be less advanced as a civilization.
  20. Got Hot Chip's latest album, Made In The Dark, on pre-order. Can't wait :)
  21. Jesus Just Left Chicago - ZZ Top
  22. What kind of stuff do you want to play? Bands, songs etc. How you learn I think depends a lot on who you want to try and emulate.
