Ahaha. so far away. most of them would probably be pop punk. emo are further seems forever, some jimmy eat world...depressing, no distortion, slow, makes you wanna cry. nothing upbeat. not some [puncture] with makeup screaming "IM NOT ROWWKAAYYY" at the top of his pre-pubescent voice. And panic at the disco? hahah. sound more indie than anything. apparently they're a "scene" band. sounds like crappy pop music to me.

as biox said FL Studio is a nice standard program Cubase Sx3 is the industry standard though a deep dive in your pockets for that one. Same with Reason 3.0 which is a little more hardware orientated (but comes with damn nice instruments to use!) Cubasis might be your best bet. it's CONSIDERABLY cheaper than cubase and not a lot different, seeing as you'll just be recording from piano.

Just so you know Necro, roadrunner united are a band formed from 5 members of other bands on the roadrunner label :P I think they're too overrated and commercialised myself. They sound commercial and the video for The End is just god awful.
