  1. I think they could have tried a lot harder to meet there goal of 8 quests at the start of the year. Its quite strange that they openly said, we have taken on board feedback that there wasn't enough quests, so will be doing more, and then did nothing to even try achieve it. Seems poor leadership to me. Perhaps the elf city has just taken far more time and resources than they thought. But given that 2 of the 5 quests we've had so far this year used recycled graphics, and shadow over ashdale was pretty menial, the amount of genuine time invested in quests is arguably even less this year. There was such momentum with the dawn of the sixth age last year, now it seems if we have 2 more pieces of content related to the sixth age in the next 12 months we'll be lucky. I know the world events were controversial in that they required quite a bit of time just for a temporary event, but there seems to be very little intention to do one of a similar scale to the last ones again any time soon.
  2. Yea pretty much, but I guess it's because they're the only properly meaty pieces of content we've had the last few months. Gone are the days where In an average month youd get a couple of quests, a minigame and maybe a new D&D. Currently if we get one large standalone piece of content a month that keeps you entertained for longer than an hour it's a rare thing. It's awesome that content like the city and arraxor can keep you entertained for many, many weeks, but its sad thats so uncommon now days. Can't wait for city part 2!
  3. This is the first TH thing that's ever appealed to me, it looks pretty cool and its features are pretty powerful. I started off using 3 bonds to buy keys and had around half the stuff, but didn't want to spend another 20-24 mill to get the set. So i tried supersonic ads for the first time, took an hour or to earn about 40 keys to get the rest of the pieces. Man those things are sketchy though, i dread to think what your real life and virtual inbox would look like if you used genuine details! Took me 80-90 keys in total. Jagex must have made a killing this weekend!
  4. Seems a bit of a pointless even including nomad in the poll. Its obvious he'll be the one most voted for.
  5. What should be blocked with heartfreezers to help chances?
  6. Do you need the entire set to get the yellow wizard teleports. Or is it one tele per complete piece?
  7. Do you need to be cutting a crystal tree to get a crystal imp with the scrimshaw, or can you get them at ivy too. I do think the chances of the high end imps spawning around the world is way too low. I think since they were released I've seen maybe 1 kingly and 1 zombie. They could increase the spawn rate of them by 10 and I still don't think it would be game breaking.
  8. But it was a trim req in the design document, has it been downgraded?
  9. It's definitely an opportunity missed, the reason I often cancel tasks like dark beasts is because without the excitement of at least a chance of a rare unique drop, it is deathly dull to just kill for regular mediocre drops. The drops they are adding to monsters seem to be increasingly homogeneous and dull at the moment : lants, dwarf weeds, addy bars and ore, and coal seem to be the answer to every drop table with Mod Timbo.
  10. I guess my gut feeling is that jagex really doesnt seem to be wanting to try anything truly innovative and instead trying to cash in on the current trend for card games and MOBA's. Therefore by just following the crowd I fail to see how this or Transformers will ever truly take off. Is the fact that you can play on mobile devices new for this type of game?
  11. Could people post information/pictures today please? I'm not able to tune in.
  12. From looking at the questions submitted for the Big Question session on the Reddit it's going to be a complete waste of time. 95% of the questions were already asked in the VIP Q&A last week and will be answered with one of the two replies they always give: 'we don't have the graphical resources to do a project like that' 'we will poll this in the future' I don't see the point in asking questions like 'when will we get to go to the eastern lands?' when if there's one thing this year has taught us, it's that Jagex can only do one major update like that at a time and lets be honest, it's already going to take them another 5 years just to rework a skill or two and release the next one.
  13. Are they planning on there being a formal big launch for Transformers Universe, or was the launch of the beta that launch? I'm confused as to how and when they plan to transition from beta into the proper game. I'd also love to know how many people they have actually playing it.
  14. I think the biggest problem Jagex has with coming out with new games is that a lot of us view that we've sunk so many hours into this one, we wouldn't want to start a fresh with a new game or take time out of progress in Runescape. Therefore my hope for this would be a standalone game in its own right, that gives benefits and/or bonuses in Runescape itself as well. Perhaps even something suitable for phones or tablets.
  15. Agreed. All else fails this works, I did it last night for the the first time after 4 attempts, each time bringing more and more summoning flasks. In the end I went through 8 summoning flasks when I completed it. My first 3 attempts I failed largely because I didn't get a single muspah wave.
  16. In all honesty it was quite short with not much to tell: The big thing to me is that the 'New RuneScape Product Reveal' is going to be a new game, but set in the Runescape Universe. As per the timetable, streaming begins at 10 and it will be streamed from a glass walled room in the middle of Runefest, so you will be able to see people moving around the venue outside.....And I would inevitably guess see lots of people waving at the camera and pulling faces. They also have cameras put up around the venue so they can show us whats going on in different rooms. Hmm what else, The Big Questions seems like it will be the various usual Big name Mods like Osbourne and Mark etc answering questions largely from the forums I believe. They will be doing some Live Challenge Alan. What particularly did you want to know Urza?
  17. It's the multitasking that takes the most to learn, and is also the thing you take the most for granted once you know it. Path 1 destroyed me over an over when i was learning, if you let your prayer drop or overload drop, or don't notice a mirror or pulsing it can very quickly cause the spiders to accumulate causing you to freak out even more. Then once they've all spawned and you are still a bit behind you are going to get ruined by it then healing/cleaving/spider stunning you. i still get better and better at my anticipate/freedoms every time I kill him.
  18. Whilst the nature of the elf city comp reqs seem quite arbitrary and 'not in fitting with the typical comp reqs' , what if they had instead been made tasks for the elf city task set? Would people have been annoyed at stuff like reaching wave 20 and beating Morvans slayer challenge.?Because i think they would be perfectly in line with previous task sets activities.
  19. Speaking as someone who used to have the same opinion as you 2 months ago. You are wrong. If you need to do ROTS , joing the FC 'TeachingRots' It is run by an awesome player called Captain Onyx and he spends hours of his own time teach players how to do ROTS, you only need a Chaotic staff and seasingers. It takes a day or 2 or waiting in the fc to get a place, but you will. if you need to do rago join the FC 'Rago PVM' , You also only need chaotic staff and seasingers for this. The teams are so big you can do practically nothing and still get the kill, as long as you try do damage you don't need to pay. As long as you watch/read some guides you will do fine in both these FC's. I too have only 1hr a day to play , and I dont have teamspeak and I successfully got my kills done over about 5 days. i promise you can do it and there are players willing to help you, they are not a nonexistent 1%.
  20. Well Morvans challenge definitely worked out well for me. I finally got assigned it today having finished the 8 dark beast tasks, I went and did an Araxxor kill and got an eye drop! Bought the leg, combined them and sold the nox staff making 57mil in the process. Thank you comp reqs!
  21. Familiar update looks good, its pretty much just quality of life and not graphical. The main fixes are: Combat familiars will now auto attack as soon as you engage an enemy, if you are under ttack they will also automatically enage that enemyYou can give a familiar scrolls so that it auto uses them, and you can set the rate at which it uses themObelisks will now heal familiarsThe summoning tab has been reworked to look betterIts going to be out Monday. Hopefully it should help with rush of blood quite a bit!
  22. I'm torn with Invention, as the last thing we need is a skill for the sake of having a skill. Their initial ideas of 'level up my weapon' deffinitely fell into that category; you already have to grind and level up so many things to be max combat, why add another just for the sake of 'new content'. Also the weapons and armour market is already so saturated, adding another form when so many skills like smithing and fletching are useless would be plain daft. To be honest divination already has far more purpose and rewards than many other skills, so perhaps they just need to increase the number of uses for divine energy within divination itself. If it had been released many years earlier, perhaps divine energy could have been used instead of spirit shards in pouch making, but it's deffinitely too late for that. That said, the one idea about invention that they had I did like originally was their plan for it to be an item sink for many of the products made in other skills, or even a way of consuming armour like Bandos etc to help push up the price of them. But that cant be done without making it another weapon/armour making skill, hence my confliction
  23. I'd first like to say that it's a testament to Tip.its community that we can have such an in depth debate about this with close to zero bitterness or arguing/flaming. It's deffinitely something that is rare on the internet now days and is deffinitley why this is my favourite RS forum. It is clearly not a black and white problem, with good arguments for and against it, made even more difficult by the disability debate. It's really great also to hear from people who have suffered, or encountered others that suffer from varying disabilities, as it is hard to contemplate/ debate the matter without personal experiences without resorting to straw man arguments. I do agree that it is a big double standard for them to be pushing arraxxor back to a trim req, one that is frustrating given how much debate was had with the ninja team and they would not back down. That said I don't think it is unreasonable having arraxxor as a comp req, as others have said getting the first kill of the day is quite forgiving (especially when paths 2 and 3 are open). I am naturally a pretty dire PVMer, but I really wanted to be able to do Arraxxor profieciently: it took me around 10-14 hours of trying and dying over and over, but eventually I got there. Given the time livid farm takes, spending that amount of time to learn a boss is perfectly reasonable. I think part of the problem with PVM reqs lies in the fact that in RS, we always expect to be able to quantifyably see our progress, watching numbers get bigger is a simple, yet key part of why peope play the game. Therefore given PVM is not something you gain progress points for, its simply you die or you don't, and therefore it is very frustating to spend many hours and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I personally was very opinionated agaisnt the team bosses being comp reqs before the soul reaper updat. But now I have acually attempted (and killed) them for the first time my opinion is that is a perfectly reasonable comp req. As I have explaind before, I went in with the view of 'PVM'ers are the most self righteous A- holes in the world', but after I actually was forced to work with them to kill the bosses I actually found them to be some of the nicest people I hav ever met in my 10 years of playing. Another common arguement is that it's not fair as it requires you to be mega rich to play, but Ports gear has made every boss doable for even poor people now. To be blunt on the matter of disability, I do not think it is possible to cater to every single type, so it would be unfair to do so for some and not others. Sure simple things like colourblindness are not game changing ,so are fine, but it's not like RS was ever marketted as a simple game, deliberately suitable for people with poor reaction speed causing disabilities. So why pretend it was.
  24. Question: for the requirement to complete 6 dark beast assignments for the title, are these special assignments you get straight away or preferentially? Or do you literally have to just get lucky enough/do enough tasks/spend enough points/tickets to get 6 different dark beast tasks?
