  1. So is it better to run to phase 2 as soon as the web burns down regardless of lowering his health then on phase 1?
  2. Thanks for the comments. I always do spam Click away when it happens and as you say , the character moves server serverside , and when it eventually works out whats going on you magicall run/jump to where you clicked to. I guess its the lack of smoothness In this thats my gripe. Perbaps its me panicking that im not moving thats gotten me hit sometimes
  3. Oh wow, the difference between getting him to eat the spiders, and just luring them on you is huge. phase 4 is a heck of a lot easier, thanks so much for the tip. I finally got my first kill , several very close calls and a lot of deaths and wasted cash. But ill take the single victory that there is hope. I also tried using SS and got absolutely shredded, so personally wouldnt advise it. My biggest gripe currently with the EOC is the way certain abilities animations basically cause you to be stunned and unable to move for a second or so (like needle strike and bombardment), and therefore they can easily get you killed if pressed at the same time as a swipe, or unlucky green spider. This is also a problem i find when doing the ascension bosses. If Jagex are going to insist on making bosses where you have to dodge stuff very quickly to avoid ko's, they really need to fix this.
  4. I've had six failed attempts so far and I am really struggling. Ive managed to make it to the phase 4 twice now,, and to the black thing once. But Im really struggling with the extent of the multitasking, I can just about focus on my prayer and attack abilities (ish) ,but im failing to keep track of counting each 5 attacks for freedom etc , or doing any defensive abilities. Is it that eventually with enough practice you learn from your mistakes and get better, or does eventually it just click and it becomes a whole lot easier. ? Currently i'm just becoming very frustrated and really cant see it being something I do for fun. Not to mention how expensive the learning curve is!
  5. So unless I've missed anything, they're still going ahead with Vorago and ROTS being comp cape requirements?
  6. I'm assuming/hoping that the odds of getting each of the weapons will be the same. I guess with regards to the effects the L90 2H weapons will have on the DW versions prices, the biggest issue is that for God only knows what reason, the DW weapons have such differences in their respective drop rates. It really was horribly poor design on Jagex's part the differences in rate of getting the weapons between KK, the Ascension bosses and Vorago. You would have thought that given they were all released within around an 8 month period they could have considered it even a little. I am very much looking forward to Araxxor though, and living the vague hope that I stand a chance of one day getting a lvl 90 mage weapon without needing to save the best part of 1 bill.
  7. My understanding was that the initial aim was for it to be similar damage/xp rates to using revolution, but without thresholds. I wonder how close to that it now is.
  8. I'm very keen to get home from work and see how the changes to the EOC have panned out, all Ive read so far is lots of comments about bosses being buffed. However on the legacy front, from the videos and pictures I have seen, I have noticed 2 things so far: 1) There is next to no one streaming legacy pking on twitch (1 or 2 at max)............Surely today of all days you would expect lots of people to be streaming it? Isnt pking all people have been waiting for legacy for, surely there should be loads of people streaming it? 2) As predicted everyone is of course only wearing welfare gear, with nothing risked except around 100k. Needless to say I think the predictions that once the hype is over, in a couple of weeks when people have gotten bored from it being atrocious for money making, the wildy will be empty again Neither of these things bode well.
  9. Yes , but by that logic the trimmed completionist cape shoudnt' exist, and we should just have one completionist cape which requires all of the trimmed reqs. However as we know, there are two tiers to the completionist cape and I dont think its unreasonable to lump killing vorago and ROTS into the trimmed side, as it is currently.
  10. I really hope they back down on this, because its a ridiculous idea.
  11. Theyve been launching around lunch time on Mondays recently. So I would guess around 10-12 hours assuming release is tomorrow?
  12. This. Yes whilst I am fully aware you must take the reviews with a pinch of salt, because as others have said people only write a review typically when something bad has happened. And yes there are also ones written by players on there, but from reading through the reviews those ones are very obvious to spot . However, when the key problems being criticized are a common theme, that most of the reviews bring up again and again (such as management not listening to feedback until after a project is out,) and they are also something the players have found to be a problem. Then the review gains some legitimacy. The reason I found it interesting enough to post originally, is that whilst on the surface things seem to have changed with the power to the players etc, it seems there are still major issues with the way the direction of the game is decided within the company. This is particularly worrying therefore with vast quantities of time and money being spent on things like Transformers, there is a lot to lose, and therefore I really hope theyve one their homework and are working as a team, as opposed to being a company run based upon knee-jerk reactions to what the flavour of the moment is.
  13. Speaking of which, there was a particularly scathing review posted on the Jagex Glassdoor page a couple of days ago (even by the usual standard of the reviews on that site its particularly bleak) It really does pain me to hear stuff like that as someone who loves the game. I was hoping that things had gotten better in the last year since they started listening to the players more. But alas it seems the management structure within the company, and its ability to listen to feedback is still a massive point of contention.
  14. Couldn't agree more with what Sy said: I'll be damned if the wildy outside Edgeville is filled with people lvl 90 gear, its just too much of a risk for a low chance of a reward. People will risk typical warband gear for a few weeks, then once the hype has died down the wildy will be empty again. I really hope they have more plans up their sleeves, like was previously mentioned with plans for pvp specific gear from minigames, or creating genuine reasons for people to enter the wildy. Otherwise this will have been a waste of time
  15. I know its off topic, but does anyone know if a Jagex financial report is going to be made public this year, as they were already out by now the past few years? Do they have to release them, or is it up to them? I'm very intrigued as to what their finances are like now things are a bit more stable and people have adapted more to the Microtransactions/EOC.
  16. Well in which case as initially thought, thats rediculous. I can understand (just) wanting the mechanics of the old system, but insisting on reverting rediculous things like the attack animations for the sake of nostalgia is ludicrous. It infuriates me the most mainly because of how much Jagex seem to be 'tight' on resouces now days, to be then wasting them reverting things which aren't even a problem.
  17. Can someone please explain to me the need for old attack animations? Is it another nostalgia thing or does it serve a practical purpose?
  18. I'm really loving being able to use the GE on the app at long last. Being able to flip whilst at work is amazing, I've only made like 2mill so far, but it feels so satisfying.
  19. With the pickaxe it seems to be the same old problem as always with the tiering of items, they made the dragon pickaxe as an endgame item thats ridiculously rare and therefore valuable. Therefore anything else higher has to be even more rare, so as to not devalue and make redundant the dragon pickaxe, even though there theoretically should be at least 3 more tiers to come.
  20. To be honest thats the least I've enjoyed a quest in quite some time, and I normally love quests. The whole thing just seemed very clunky: the map was horribly clunky to navigate, made worse by the repeated pointless journeys to and from zanik. The bosses and their mechanics were clunky and of course then theres zaniks face- the most clunky thing of all. These combined sucked the enjoyment out of it and made me just wish for the end to come sooner. Also, did anyone else find it a bit strange that they didnt bother updating Borks graphics- he just looked daft next to the other large npc's with much newer graphics..
  21. Whilst it doesnt produce new playable content, I am happy to take the elf graphical rework as a proper piece of content for a week if the temple of light and underground pass all look as good as Lletya do in that video, simply because of how much graphical and design resources it takes to rework an area. It was awesome late 2012, early 2013 when they did loads of graphical reworks, like Al Karid, Rimminton, Draynor, GWD, most of the dungeons, castle wars, the grand tree and tzaar areas and its been a shame that we haven't really seen many in the last year since then as I think they really improve the feel of the game. Other than that, the new quest looks like good fun and whilst the skillchompas won't effect me, I'm sure some will use them a lot. As for legacy I still feel the same way as many others, whats the point.... it seems to me that the only place its going to be useful is PVP, as all those who visited Jagex and played it all seem to have concluded that it's a lot less inneficient in PVM (as expected), and lets be honest in 2k14 efficiency scape that makes it redundent. Why couldnt they just have saved a bunch of development time and made some momentum only worlds (without use of and abilities) and achieved the same thing.
  22. So do you reckon itll be ready for a june release then? Any rumours or anything?
  23. Whats the slayer xp per kill for nihil ? Are they worth unlocking as a slayer assignment either for profit or xp, or are they not worth the effort required to kill them?
  24. Holy crap. That huge drop in players coincides exactly with the release of silverhawk boots, Im shocked at how much damage that update did in terms of people quitting.
  25. April looks like a pretty darned good month to me, It seemed daft that they hadnt capitalised on both Ashdale or the divination area in Freneskae as the graphics for both were awesome, so I very much look forward to returning to these locations. As for the easter world event, it looks intriguing and I hope not too much grind is needed for the rewards. Slightly surprised the mage and range power gloves are being added to previous monsters as opposed to new ones, but that doesnt bother me. Though it would have seemed more logical to add one of them to the drop table of the Muspah's last week.
