Im going to assume that in order to make it comparable to the T90 mage armour, and not completely ruin death lotus and pernix that A) quite a lot of scales will be needed to make the armour and B) the scales will have a rediculously low drop rate, like the triskillion key pieces. Should still be a nice drop to have every now and then when slaying though.

Well they said it would be delayed to this week , and after the 30th at the start of last week. So thats not really an extra delay, just what we already knew.
-
Not sure if people have seen Mod Pips Dev blog yet Some interesting statistics, The one thing I cant understant is how the hell 7bn has been 'sunk' in retrade tax already, why would so many people do that when they know its going to waste money?
-
Well given the statistic is for 'active' players, they wouldnt be counted. Also if they were counting the accounts already banned this year for Gold farminging-1.1million according to them. The % would be way higher
-
Theres a poll on whether people have RWT'd before this week on Reddit at the moment and it has some interesting results: currently 32% of the 916 voters say that they have. Of course an open poll on a place like reddit , and with a relatively small sample size means its not totally accurate . But 32% is still quite high and suggests Jagex 40-50% statistic might not be too much of an exxageration.

So just because I was really bored, and also because I was curious, I worked out how much GP it would cost to buy one of everything everything on the SGS using bonds. This is asusming the current value of around 6.5m GP per bond All Costumes: 120 bonds,-780m GP All Animations: 77 bonds,-500.5m GP Titles, boosters and keys: 21 bonds,-136.5m GP All Hairstyles: 29 bonds,-188.5m GP All Pets: 31 bonds,-201.5m GP Total CostL 1.807 Billion GP
-
I would expect it would, as this was the case with buying game cards or the premier club membership packages. Though its a reasonable question to try and get a mod to asnwer if youre still worried. Im really hoping we can buy the premier club packages again in the new year with bonds, theyd be silly not too offer it.

Ill be honest, I think people aren’t quite grasping the supply and demand aspect of this. If the bonds are currently selling at a bad GP/$ ratio, that’s because the supply of the tokens is currently too high. Which means the system is working. So currently the way the community is acting like they are fine with the price and are buying more than needed. If the community deems using the gold farmers is a cheaper way of getting them the supply of the tokens will reduce and therefore their price will rise, probably eventually reaching equilibrium. Just give it time, this is just a transient period of instability. I think it’s the fact that people consider gold farming cost in terms of of $/GP, but the tokens in terms of GP/$ that is causing some confusion as well.

It's something no nes really touched on yet, but I'm really looking forward to the charity donations part of it becomng available. As long as Jagex don't take a cut from it other than enough to cover their transaction costs that is, i.e donating a token to charity should give a $4.95-$5 donation I think there could be some really awesome community events from it, you know, see how much the community can raise for charity in game in a week. There could even be a highscores for the most raised-though that could be controversial. I wonder which charities they will choose though?
-
Did it xD? Where and what did it say It was a question about not believing the statistic that 40-50% of players have taken part in RWTing. Couldnt tell you how mnay minutes into the stream it was though sorry.

Jagexs Recent Work With Youtubers Discussion
Blofeld replied to Blofeld's topic in General Discussion
Going back to my original post. I've never been a conspiracy theory kind of person before, but I do think the bonds annoncement played a reasonable part in why so many video makers were invited to Jagex this week. It is a bold announcement today that Jagex didnt necessarily know which way the community would react to. Some of the Youtubers have viewer numbers of up to 50k per video, if it had gone down badly an ifluential person ranting about it on a video can have a large effect on stirring up the community and spreading further discontent. I therefore think part of the reason so many was invited was so they could explain it to them properly and give them a chance to properly think about it , instead of finding out today and making a rash and ranting video Thats my 2 cents anyway -
Im glad we'll still be able to use our BOL reward points after the battle has ended as there's still as chance if Div bonus xp unlocks next week I can use some lamps on it
-
Haha,I honestly reckon theres enough material to debate and discuss on this topic and its economic ins and outs to make a pretty substantial University level dissertation
-
Surely the $/GP ratio between gold farming sites and through bonds should reach an equilibrium within a few weeks. And its alot more work on the gold farmers side if they keep having to change the price of gold to undercut Jagex as a result of the natural fluctuations that will occur
-
How does the price dropping on the GE affect Jagex, theyre still getting the same real world cash for them
-
Hmmm, so say player A buys 2 bonds for 6 pounds and sells them for RSGP. Player B who provided the GP then uses it on their membership. The membership fee player B would have paid has been replaced by the price paid for the bond which is 1.05 pounds more for than a standard membership of 4.95 Youve got to admit its some very clever accounting on Jagex's part
-
so if its 10.5m currently and that has a value of 3 pounds, you can currently buy 200m GP for 60 pounds...
-
Ok I m starting to get my head around it. But the one claim i dont get is that he said it would take billions out of the economy and this just isnt the case. If players are buying the bond and selling it to GP, thats just causing GP to be moved around, not removed. And very few people are going to be silly enough to trade it twice and incur the 10% tax, so i really cant see that removing much GP.

I don't think it being a novice quest is necessarily as clear cut a term to judge it on now days though. The death of chivalry was a novice quest remember, and that deffinitely was a compltely different quest to the 'novice quests' of old. If there is any combat in the quest then its likely they they will be scaled also.

I assumed the golden override requirement had also been reduced to 25 tasks. Is this not the case?

Question: what if the way the xp you get at the end of the dungeon had an extra factor based on your contirbution to the floor out of your team. Limited to say a fraction of 80-120% of your score. There are many ways contribution could be tracked, for example the amount of doors you have opened personally as a fraction of the average amount each team member opened, or % of enemies killed in GD's , or just general measurement of activity as opposed to loafing throughout the floor. It would have the double benefit of a) reducing people paying to loaf floors as it wouldnt be efficient to do so, and b) stop people from being such complaining martys when thye feel they are doing more than others as they would therefore be rewarded for it. Surely theres got to be some quantifyable way contribution could be estimated?

Yes I can safely say it's the grief from teaming up with randomers that has resulted in me now having gone from lvl 100 to my current level of 113 entirely from sinkholes, with the odd daily challenge here and there. I just find that every time I do try do the odd large using the worlds for it, I end up being berrated and sworn at for simple mistakes, it just completely puts me off from trying and getting properly into the skill. I guess it is just the design of the skill that means one person mucking up can punish the whole team, but I dont know how it could be improved. I still don't know why they havent removed puzzle rooms like the lever and mime rooms as they just create so many problems that don't need to exist.

Sacred metal fragment quantity per drop seems to have gone through the roof. Whereas before most drops were of 1-10 fragments before, the typical minimum drop is 20 fragments each time now. So collect them now if youre after them. I reckon you could get 700-1000 in an hour now

I think the biggest tell tale sign of peoples perception of Divination is how desperate the community are for BXP to be activated . Sure its partly because bonus xp and lamps play a much bigger part in the game than when previous new skills were released and the Squeal wasn't around. But I think mainly the desperation for it is there because people just don't want to train the damn skill
