  1. Strange...Ico managed to connect...You are both in England so its not internation problems...Dungeonal, you wanna try hosting?
  2. So nothing...probably isn't recognising the no-ip address...does it need any prefixes? On the hosting screen does it say your IP?
  3. Hosts always the captain, it seems. You can be captain if you like. I only have the demo, doesn't require a licence.
  4. Its ik, I am working off a modem.
  5. Its all about manipulating the onscreen controls, very intuitive. Hosting is kind of a drag because you have 0 control over anything...you just get to watch and play captain(which is fun). Join as a client, prefix code 9001, and 192.168.1.3 Ip Adress.
  6. SOS, the USS Falador has engaged the Strange Blue Line and requires urgent Tactical Officer Assistance!
  7. Ok, I have Ico online and he is flying
  8. Ok, I have connected via another computer...
  9. I have no idea, booting up hamachi. 5.208.90.2
  10. Mumble, the game is set in one room on a lan party...so we will need to improvise.
  11. The premise, I gather, is that since you can't play the game yourself you need a 'crew'...and since you can run(as they allow, in practical terms, unlimited) 6 copies from one purchase, the idea is that you pool your money, so it only costs...$6.67 per person, in theory. Mather, we all do that =)
  12. Because in all of us is the spirit of Jean Luc Picard, just wanting to sit in the chair shouting 'Engage!' or given a suitably dramatic pause before shouting 'FIRE'. Well, this game does that! It also allows the Helm and Tactical Officer to totally ignore the Captain's sense of drama and just fire the weapons when you are in range, and plot a course, rather than just sitting like a lemon because the Captain just shouted 'GET US OUT OF HERE!!!' with no bearings. If this sounds appealing then I recommend you download the demo for the Artemis simulator, board the USS Falador and prepare to protect your homeworld, Tavenius. http://artemis.eochu.com/buy.html ______ Game comes as a demo, which is three player. If there is serious interest, and the game is fun and working, then I will buy the full version(it comes with no copy protection and the advisory to share with your bridge crew, so I can upload it to all those who want to play...However if I did I would strongly ask you not to share outside the Tavern, since if it is good then that kinda screws over the designer.) Full version is 6 player. Microphones would definately help, but are not vital...Worst case we can use IRC, the captain has no job but to bark orders and watch the battle unfold on the view screen. If you do have a microphone then a certain lack of embaressment at shouting at your computer would be helpful. Anyway, if people are interested I wouldn't mind running/playing in a game tonight, around 6 pm GMT.
  13. Replace Omen with Buff and my system is the simplest and problem most capable system. Elsewise you are gonna be keeping track of several dozen squards with several dozen enchantments each...The whole thing gets ridiculously complicated and the system gets dropped. My system: Player asks for a type of buff. Mod decides to give a buff or a curse. Mod tells player. Mod applies buff untill it runs out, or he forgets. Requires, at most, 7 lines of text on a peice of paper.
  14. 1. I find a tree. I cut it down. I cut a container, 1 meter tall, which is as wide as the tree. I cut another container, which is about half a meter tall, and slightly narrower, then I cut a small hole in the bottom. I bring them back to the town. I then treat both of them to make them water tight(except for the small hole). I then fill the large container with water. I place the smaller one on top and wait for it to hit the bottom. I name this time a minute. Thus inventing time. Useful or not? Time will tell...Sooner or Later time will tell. 2. I get Joshua the Carptenter to look at the grinding stones and replicate their motion with a single peice of wood(Cogs please). 3. A road, using the stone from the last set of actions, is built between the settlements.
  15. Just a random idea... Magic could be done as Omens, which give a few days of boost or curse in specific things. AKA, you ask your Grand Sorcerer to look into the magic mirror (w/e) to see if things are good or bad on one thing... He then tells you and you get a small bonus or curse, depending on if it succeeded or failed. (Stolen from Rome: Victus Via(or words to that effect).) Defence Navy Catapults Growth Rate(whatever it is) Heavy Infantry Archers Like 10%. Wouldn't overpower anyone since everyone got equal chance (50/50), and would make things a little interesting... Though obviously you wouldn't have to use Omens...
  16. 1. You mean like a large army? 2. So you choosing a rubbish country has nothing to do with your country being rubbish...interesting...
  17. 1. Hegemony tech is 'If it is advanced it should be nerfed, if it is backwards it should be inflated.' 2. Not unrelated, just you don't see the similarities.
  18. 1. Hegemony Mentality is flawed. 2. 'Hey but your army is smaller, less well trained and less well equiped' Such a whiney argument. 3. Sounds like an interesting idea.
  19. Server has crashed, will resume if it restores in the next 10 minutes, if not then will resume in an hour, if it is still not up then will resume on Thursday from this month.
