  1. Lord Bartulus takes tea in the summer house and requests his servents bring up a port report, indicating profits, ships as his disposal and defensive fortifications.
  2. No. A flat universe, those are the same scientists who said FTL travel would take huge amounts of energy and transporters would never work...Shows what they know!
  3. Name: Lord Bartulus of Kent(Bart for short) How you start: Start! How dare you my brain twixed fellow! For I am Lord Bartulus, Governor of Saint Kitts, of his Royal Majesty King James the Second Glorious Nation, the Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland. So do not 'Start' with me, or I shall have you thrown in gaol you wretched little oik. Stuff you might want to: Personality- Characterized by exaggerated stateliness; pretentious, as in speech or manner; self-important Looks- Goal- Defeat the Pirate Scourge!
  4. Lol, nah, I use Sarcasm tags when I am being sarcastic, or ... Anywho, yeah, if you go off the edges you go to the other side.
  5. Rocco: Yeah, magic wormholes or something to take you all the way round.
  6. Argue with people from 12-6 am Go to sleep 6am-12pm Argue with people from 12pm-12 am Repeat.
  7. [hide] [/hide] Sufficing to say that this ship is more than 500 meters by 500 meters.... So.... Options are: 1 City ship, equal to 5 Developments, comes with pretty powerful shields(A star is gonna kill you as with a coronal ejection, but against most conventional weapons you will be fairly well protected), can directly mine a planet for 50% of its normal output, armed with the 1,000 drone platforms. You don't get a starting planet, instead get 20,000 resources to start you off. Also, you need to choose three shields or one or two and use one twice/thrice. OR 10 developments on a planet, everything else is normal, and you get the skeleton of a city ship to start you off (100,000 of 1,400,000 resources payed off) OR Rethink. Additionally, solar paneling would make hyper space fairly risky. Ok, I agree, I will think up some more disadvantages...not really because the loyalty gun, but because Ico is specialising. If people whine because they didn't understand then they should probably talk to their scientists more...Not exactly like I only respond to one message a day.
  8. Sufficing to say that the moderator has power because they are expected to occupy a neutral position, thus, putting limits on their power is like saying 'Red cannot be Green'. Except, in Hegemony, people constantly cite that Red is Green... Thus, commonsense dicatates that you don't limit the moderators power, because then the moderator gets sucked into an argument about Green being Green, and if Green being Green means revealing everyones secret plans then someone who is being attacked can say RED IS GREEN! have Moderators and Admin come charging in to defend liberty, freedom and whatnot, leading to the game collapsing. I think the major problem spawns from Moderators being moderators, and the preponderance to get confused between banning someone from a game and banning someone from a thread. So Moderators should be banned from being moderators... Or ir should all just be ignored for the summerised reasons below. Summery: Rules on moderators is silly.
  9. Probably double the price to 600,000 resources and 950,000 cash.
  10. City ships do tend to need engines...and power generators...shields...and such.
  11. With the Prussian army working hard at becoming stronger, the dark hand of the counter-mod breaks through the lake of boredem to strike ineffectively at the world that we call Hegemony: Additionally: Prussia tries to think of a way of making smaller lead shot. Demands are sent to France for the payment of 2 million ducats in compensation to the families of the sailors they ruthlessly murdered off the French Coast, these boat had, in fact, been on a humanitarian mission to Britanny. Newspaper Headline:
  12. Blast. If I hadn't engaged in the reforming dealie...Even had the PM typed up. All forces are sent to Prussia where they continue building the railroad network.
  13. Something like: 'While Falador Tavern embraces a policy of leniency when it comes to Off-Topic posting, a Game Master, who is sufficently moved by events unfolding in the game, or personal annoyance or the combined complaint of those who play said game, may petition a/the Falador Tavern Moderator/s, to suspend this leniency and/or restrict postings, on their thread, to only those who are engaged in the game. This rule is suspended if the Falador Tavern Moderator or Moderators are involved in playing the game and thus has/may have a conflict of interests.' Though it would seem that any such action contravenes the Forum-Wide Policy Personally...Unless the person is actually flamming...in which case the rules should still apply as per normal...there is no real reason for a formal system to exist. If any rule should exist in relation to banning people from threads, (in the sense that the moderator(GM) will ignore their posts) then it should be that, if a banned person were to continue posting, and continually aggrevating other people on the thread, then a Moderator should be called upon (by the moderator(GM)) to request that the user stop posting. However, this should only be if the person has been banned, has continued posting as though they were still playing (for at least a day afterwards) and the moderator(GM) has requested Moderator intervention. That should really be as far as it goes. I agree about that. I disagree about the incident we are thinking about due to the linguistics used and misinterpretations since then....But I agree with the point you are making. I was simply concerned that putting OTHER limits on the moderator(GM), outside of those placed by the Tip It Rules, was being seriously proposed.
  14. Le Gasp! According to 1913 Webster's Dictionary: A gift of of 8,000 ducats and 51,000 Ducats raised out of America's own pocket. So 59,000 Ducats overall.
  15. Seems overkill...and a waste of moderator time...not to mention neigh on unenforcable, since moderators are not on 24 hours a day...and reporting posts would required ALL the moderators and admin to be versed on this change in policy, and would have to be aware of who the GMs were in all the tavern games....Moderators have far better things to be doing. Far easier and more efficent to just stick with the 'This person is provoking a flame war'.
  16. If the GM ignores someone and everything related to them, then they are banned from the thread... If it is a matter for Moderator enforcement...then I would vote that the moderators and admin stay out of the matter...unless they are spamming or provoking a flame war.
  17. If people disagree with that then surely they can leave, elect a new GM and carry on on a different thread?
  18. This seems to disagree with that statement, Tripsis. Its probably just me overreacting and typing/meaning error, but I prefered it to be cleared up now
  19. Words we can all live by. And another thing, don't instantly do anything on this thread, even if you agree with it, let people actually discuss it first. And didn't we have a thread like this earlier? Except less formal...
  20. Moderators staying out of the GM's powers? Ok, getting involved for breaks to the forum rules, I can accept Fiddling with the forum because the powers that be dictate it, I can accept But if the mods and admin start getting involved with the actual roleplaying (except as players or GMs in their own games)....
  21. I question the credibility of that assessment, and Dr. R. Bruce Hoadley agrees with me.
  22. Yeah, that patten is too uniform, its gonna be plastic.
  23. Space Elves being altered: Advantages: Genetically Modified- General Combat Bonus Nature's Friend- Doubles output of Organic resources. Breathern- Combat Bonus for every Elf that is killed Hatred of Humans- Combat Bonus against Humans Bred for Intelligence- Research is 10% faster Down and Dirty- Espionage Bonus Disadvantages: Genetically Modifed- Toxins and Genetic attack are more damaging. Hared of Humans- Diplomacy with Humans rarely works out Down and Dirty- Diplomacy Penalty Attractive- Diplomacy Penalty Nature's Friend- Industy suffers a penalty
  24. Turbo lasers are 'More power is better than more accuracy'
  25. Can people stop overreacting...
