We could blow up the Terran Federation...The Urk-Orz invade, destroy Dustopolis and Earth and, while it bands together to fight and defeat the Urk-Orz, it then breaks down into little Empires. But I think Dungonal's one is going really well. The combat system looks really simplied.

Shades of Monochrome
Archi-(I'll take all five actions in this post) Action 1: I take the hatchet and examine it carefully. If I think that it would be useful I slide it into my belt so that I can carry it with me. Action 2: Then I examine the 10 beds to see what they are made from(Ie matress, pillow, quilt...ect, ect.) I work out which is most comfortable and remember this, this will be my bed. Action 3: Then I check out the fridge, seeing what is inside it, if it is plugged in, where it is plugged in, how many plug sockets there are and if anything else is plugged in. Action 4: I go to the computer and see if I can log on, if I can I search the computer for any kind of information/games/ect on the hard drive. If I find some then I read it, if I don't then I see if there is any sort of Information Network in existance, and try to connect to it, if there is and I can connect to it I run a check for any tracer programs or any other kind of techo-trap then I search for some information about this world. If I can't get on to the Info Network then I access the satalite and see if I can get a fix on my position(after checking for tracers and such). If I get a fix then I anaylse the information to work out what is around me if photos are avalible, if there are not then I scan the area by seeing if there are any other computers transmitting data. In anycase I then shut down the computer(after reading through as much as I can find). (Basically I go to the computer and see what I can find out about the world) Action 5: Then I perform a check of the house itself, seeing if I can find any trap doors or other things which might pose a problem, as well as finding out if there is a lock on the door, also if the cabin has a bathroom. I also check for a bookcase or any books of any kind, I then check them, page by page, reading each page and absorbing the knowladge. Once I am reasonably happy that I am fully aware of what is in the cabin, I go to the fridge and get some food(if there was any) and eat it(if it is non-toxic and doesn't require cooking). Then I perform a 8 hour check of the bed with my back, with one 9:59 hour period of unconscience.

I agree with Doom. Since its set at an undetermined point in the future anything could have happened so you could play as Aztecs if you wanted, but everyone starts equal in technology, machines and population. Dungonal will have to decide what to do about aliens that are 5 times the size and stuff like that...

The future. On defence, sounds like a good idea. Then people would have to tailor their fleets to their opponates, which would make it obvouis who was doing what. I am basically with Rocco, as long as the system is spelt out in clear terms I will be happy.

We don't need a proxy system, since there is nothing to proxy. Dungeonal can launch riots and such if he chooses. Stealth attacks should have some kind of draw back...like needing a massive stealth module so the ship is generally weaker.

 I think there should be an agriculture cap...since force feeding people does not make them give birth(So far as I am aware) So a max of 5% growth rate would be a good idea.

I am relatively happy with the 6 system approach. I have already made my argument for having three different types of Engine, allowing people to use different strategies. Also, its not that it is a numbers game, its that we want to work out all the numbers now so we can forget about them and let Dungeonal deal with the specifics. I am still not entirely sure how the game will work though, since it seems there are going to be...4 different modules and then 5 different sizes for each. So 20 modules in total. Which kinda cuts down on modability, since anyone with excel can work out the 'best' configuration and just mass produce that. Maybe there can be 'types' of attack, Hit and Run(Speed*Attack), Broadside attack(Attack*Defence) and Ranged Attack(Speed*Defence). Defending ships get Defence Tactics(Defence*Defence), Elastic Defence(Defence*Speed) and Hold the Line(Defence*Attack) Worker Efficency is then added on to that ' *(10,000*4) 'style That way Defence gets a large bonus over attack(since you could design a ship with masses of defence and little of anything else, where as the other need some kind of balance.)

Ok. Two problems. First the worker efficeny module is useless. Going from 5,5,5,5 It gives you 5,5,8,4 Compared to the Speed module. Which gives you 5,5,6,8 So, if we assume workforce is the same in both: Worker Efficency 5*4*1,250(10,000/8)=25,000 (same with defence) Speed 5*8*1,666(10,000/6)=66,666 (Same with defence) Thus if you had a more 'worker efficent' ship you would need more workers to get the same efficeny as if you increased speed. The two alternatives I could think of don't make things better. If WE increased the 'number' of workers on board Worker- 5*4*80,000(10,000*8)=1,600,000 Speed- 5*8*60,000(10,000*6)=2,400,000 If workers generally caused more problems, and so efficency helped them stop being useless. WE- (5*4)/1,250(10,000/8)=0.016 Speed- (5*8)/1,666(10,000/6)=0.024 Even if it was corrected to speed gives 5,5,8,4(Which caught my eye originally) WE- 5*4*1,250(10,000/8)=25,000 Speed- 5*8*2,500(10,000/4)=100,000 If it was reversed to 5,5,8,6 and 5,5,4,8 WE- 5*6*1,250(10,000/8)=37,500 Speed- 5*8*2,500(10,000/4)=100,000 I don't know, the system just doesn't work as it is. * The second problem is, who rolls the dice? Since there is little chance that either I or Dusty would trust the other. 'Oh yeah I got a 20' 'Really, so did I' 'Want to roll again?' 'I don't know, twenty twenties seems pushing my luck' If you are going to do it then fine, how do you want us to tell you(since wading through the thread every day is a hard job, especially when people have 20 different plans posted. Edit: If you wanted to be somewhat clever about it you could just switch the two names over... So it went: Attack*Work Efficency*(Workforce/Speed) That way an inefficent(but fast) ship would need more crew to get the same results as a efficent(but slow) ship. 5,5,6,8 needs 26,667 workers to match 5,5,8,4 with 10,000 workers

So what is the system for researching? Since a 'death star laser' module would, under your system, take the same amount of time as a life support module. Or one of those incredibly long Railguns could, if a person felt like an idiot, be put into one square. Ore more realistically, someone could make their railgun just small enough to fit in their destroyer, but keep really high stats for it. Also combat...how would people fight? I am fine with anything, as long as I can play without screwing myself because the rules arn't defined properly. your old post http://forum.tip.it/topic/251910-hegemony-argument-thread/page__view__findpost__p__4193212

That could be good, though I think we should get rid of Sol, since people will think controlling Earth gives them some special advantage. Three systems with....18 planets in total? About 6 light years between each system in a triangle

Good idea! Let's make all of the villains socialists so we [the capitalist nations] can crush them and liberate the people! It's great propaganda for Tip.it. For the record, socialism is just as close to capitalism as it is communism. They all have their good and bad parts, but socialism is the closest to perfect among those that have been mentioned. Socialism is closest to fascism. Hitler was a fascist. He was evil. Therefore, Fascists and communists are evil. To check my proof, let's do this. Stalin was a communist. He killed a lot of peasants, which makes him evil. Therefore, communists are evil. (It matches) Also, socialism = communism. Dusty killed more NWO people than Hitler or Stalin combined! Proof positive that he is a socialist.

What a non-statement. Neither of our ideas are backed by the moderator. I am stating my opinion, you are stating yours and Dungeonal can decide when he gets back. This is what annoys me, you can talk crap till the cows come home, I say something and 'Archi is being a moderator again'.
