  1. Hex, I am busy and it doesn't make any difference at this very second.
  2. Do you propose anything to fix this then? Since anything Brazil can do America can do as well...
  3. Doom, fixing the game so that Somalia can rise from what it is now to the same as the USA, in 20 days, is kind of pointless in itself.
  4. err....Or you could bomb the Mexico, decrease its infrastructure below 1 and so when the budget was announced it would decrease...
  5. Or you could bomb the USA, decrease its infrastructure below 1 and so when the budget was announced it would decrease...
  6. Oh, and everyone...your IAG is for 10 years...not 1 year.... So spending everything in the first year is kinda stupid.
  7. How about we say that the IAG is based off of gdp/person instead of gdp. Because, the current system is: if you start with 10 million people, and a 10 billion gdp, invest a bunch into infrastructure, but by the end you have 12 million people, but only a 10.2b gdp or equivalent. With my system the gdp/capita would be increased, so you get 12 240 000 000 for your IAG at the end. One thing I don't like about this system is that the current world powers have an unbeatable advantage to start. Population is far too complex to keep track of because of various social policies. Example: I start with 10 million peopla and 10 billion GDP, with a GDP/Person of 1,000. I kill everyone, bar myself, in my country. My GDP/Person is 10,000,000,000. I build an army of cyborgs and make war. Otherly, its just another number to keep track of, and, to be honest, its not that important....since your GDP and Population are seperate from your IAG.
  8. Half of the annexed country.
  9. Its a loose system. It works for Roleplaying better than in the real world. Besides its every 10 years so...
  10. So at most you have a .2% growth rate. That's kinda dumb. Not especially. Infrastructure of 3=3%, 4=4%...ect, ect....up to 100%.
  11. All countries IAG should now be on the OP.
  12. Just as a side note, there is not going to be 'your country rebels because, actually, a mandatory breeding program is a horrible idea.' Population and all that are expected to be looked after by whoever is playing. Be reasonable, obvouisly, if anyone things someone is being unreasonable then both sides can send a pm of 5,000 characters or less to convince me of their arguement. The character limit includes quotes. This is a roleplay game, so enjoy yourself.
  13. By 2%.
  14. IAG....The GDP your country has in 2000. Its basically your budget for 10 years.
  15. Hmmm, ok. Will update. I am gonna create a 'Bitesize Hegemony' Which will just be anything relevant to the gameplay, rather than everything. It will be locked and maintained by me.
  16. Added.
  17. As a note, if anyone ever wants to get a map from the internet...check to see if you can fill colour it...

http://users.aber.ac.uk/lug9/hege/hegemony/delta-prime-hyperspace1.mp3 Basics: I moderate and don't play. If I say something is unreasonable then it is unreasonable. Regardless of what you think or what I have said before. If you disagree PM me as I will post this rule as a responce otherwise. Superweapons are unbuildable. This does not mean powerful weapons are unbuildable, it means weapons more powerful than the Nagasaki Bomb are not allowed. (Low level nukes, used on their own, are fine.) Fallout, Global Warming and Virus Outbreaks do not exist in game. Your country gets technology avalible in 2010. Research can be whatever and take whatever you think to complete...but it has to be reasonable(and more than 1 year) Joint research projects split the cost, they do no increase the speed of research. 1 day is 1 year, starting from BST 00:00 All Armies, Defences, Navies and Airforces are disbanded and you cannot attack in the first year. Moving troops takes 2 hours in real life. You have to be a real country, you may not pick a continent other, non-nation, entity. Economy: GDP will be replaced with IAG (Industrial, Agricultural, Gross). IAG is your entire GDP as it was in 2000, but has to last you 10 years. After 10 years your IAG is restored, minus any money you didn't spend, then increased by your Infrastructure as a percent. Increasing your IAG is done by spending on Infrastructure. Infrastructure starts at 1 for all countries. Spending 100% of your IAG on Infrastructure increases it by 1. 99%=0.99 and so on. Bombing and warfare near towns and cities destroys infrastructure. This means you need to keep track of three numbers....Your IAG, how much money you have left and your level of infrastructure. (These figures will be kept in the OP as well) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_past_GDP_(nominal) (The figures are in millions, so add six noughts to the figures when posting.) Annexing: Annexing another country peacefully takes 10 years and costs half their IAG(at least). If someone else tries to intervene then whatever they spend is deducted from what you spend, and visa versa. Successfully annexing a nation gives you their full IAG from the next 10 year period onwards. Successfully annexing a nation also averages your infrastructure, so annexing an underdeveloped nation can weaken your infrastructure significantly. This figure will then be halved. Conquering: Conquer the Red Dots to take control the city and the surrounding area. NPN(non-player nations)s will have a garrison of 20,000 troops per city, but probably has a larger army elsewhere. Fighting near cities will damage the infrastructure of the nation who eventually controls the city. Conquering an entire nation will give you half their IAG from the next 10 year period onwards. Rules on MFW(Massive, Freaky, Weapons) Nukes, RFG, ect... 1 billion per kilotonne 1 kilotonne kills up to 20,000 troops 150 kilotonnes to blow up a city. 500 kilotonnes to wipe out a wonder. 15 megatonnes to turn 1 pixal into water. 5 megatonnes for to widen the range by 1 pixal in all directions. 19. If we take 1,236 KM/h as the speed of sound, and equate that to 343 m/s....And assume that it took about half a second for your rock to travel the 30 meters to the tree...We are looking at about 60 m/s....Which is a great deal smaller than you earlier estimate, and is a generous estimate. So... 60 m/s * 75 grams Or 60*0.075 is 4.5 Kilograms of force. It takes between 1,400 and 5,000 newtons to break someone's skull open. (Personal experiance of being hit with a lump of wood about half a pound in weight, thrown about 40 miles per hour, at a range of 20 meters, direct to the forehead, suggests this is right) So... 4.5 Kilograms of force, verses 1,400 newtons...Or 143 Kilograms of Force. All of which suggests that your slingshot would be unable to break the skull, unless you repeatedly struck the skull. Personally, the best way to kill a Zombie would be an Incendiary Dart through the eyesocket, burning the brain and hopefully severing the Cerebellum.... If it missed then Zombie's head is now on fire.
  20. I know, I was just heading off the 'Well if I can't have Africa' argument.
  21. Fairer but still unfair...Shall we just leave the map the way it is...
  22. What statement is wrong? Both. Why is it wrong? Most African countries are rather large, and Russia has fought numerous wars to unify... And the borders do not instantly disintergrate... What is your alternative? Speaking for myself...We leave the map the way it is and if we want to control Africa then we conquer or annex it fairly.
  23. Africa is not a country and GDP is a major problem. Combat is pretty much fine...Probably the one thing people might agree I got right.
  24. Finding a mod with half a brain is fine, any of us (With the possible exception of.... ) are twice as qualified as your imaginary moderator .... The problem is that anyone who mods would have to have 100% power given to them by all the players...We can't hold anything back so we can try to stop them making a bad call for us...Or a bad call generally...we would have to accept that the moderator was God and whatever rubbish he or she spouted as gospel truth. That means we need a mod with a sense of reason that we can all understand...without having it explained, since that is too complicated. Look, lets abandon all the high fluted ideas... Basics: We restart Hegemony from 2010. I moderate and don't play. If I say something is unreasonable then it is unreasonable. Regardless of what you think or what I have said before. If you disagree PM me as I will post this rule as a responce otherwise. Superweapons are unbuildable. (These figures will be kept in the OP as well) Annexing: Annexing another country peacefully takes 10 years and costs 50 Billion. If someone else tries to intervene then whatever they spend is deducted from what you spend... Simple? Basically the same as the Hegemony's of before by with Economy and Annexing fixed. Does anyone have a problem with this?
  25. Because it's worked so well in the past hasn't it...What with the page after page of argument....People not reading and giving up because actually its boring as hell to read through an argument that goes nowhere(though quite fun when you write it, if you look at the below*) [hide]Anywho, magic... Well you would just summon some sort of magic resistant monster...Dragon for instance... Honestly, its just the same as 'Technology'...I build a massive laser and shoot your 10,000 man army. I drop a bomb which kills 10,000 people. I launch a missile that kills 10,000 people. I train 50 soliders with massive lasers and kill 10,000 of yours. I release a virus that kills 10,000 of your people. I crash a spaceship into your city and kill 10,000 people. I hook a generator to the Effiel Tower and zap 10,000 of your people. Only real difference is that you can switch from 'I build a tank with ablative armour and multidyne tracking softpoint countermeasures with laser-guided anti-missile-missiles.' to 'I summon/train an Orc with a hatchet' Or you switch from 'I launch three ICBMs with a FOAB duct-tapped between them' to 'I summon a thunderstorm over your city.' The PM system means that, instead of 'If you do that I do this', it means 'You have done this so I do this to stop it.' 'Thunderstorm kills 3,000 people but then is dispelled', 'Fine, I retalitate against A with a giant fireball of death' 'Fireball destroys a vital bridge and stops troop movement in this area' 'Awesome' makes a much better exchange than: *'I launch my nukes, well I launch my countermeasures, well I launch more nukes, well my countermeasures intercept them, my missiles are stealthed, you can't have stealth missiles, I can, No you can't, I still get past your countermeasures, no, I did, no they are invincible! No thats unfair, well they can intercept a billion missiles, fine I launch a billion and one missiles, omg you don't have that many missiles, no but your tech is stupid, no its awesome, no its stupid, look clearly you don't understand the horse and cart, that analogy is completely irrelevant, no, yes, no, yes, my missiles blow your capital up, no they got intercepted, no they blew your capital region up, I blew up your captial!, what?, yeah with a billion missiles, you don't have a billion missiles, neither do you, fine I have a billion strong defence, no!!!!! I REVEAL 43526436234623452355 TROOPS IN YOUR CAPITALS!!!!! OWNAGE. [/hide] It would depend on how childish people wanted to be...since 'magic', like 'technology', can blow anything up if you have enough of it...if people are going to research 'NOOB ATTACK' weapons then, obvouisly, the game is going to fail.
