Hegemony
Hehe, that was actually rather entertaining. Anywho: You can take a country in the process of being annexed. Your assent to power starts a revolt and, depending on how much time has been invested in a country already(and after paying a relative proportion of the money), part of the country will join the country trying to annex it. If it is over 6 days since the start of the annexure then the annexer has carte blanche to attack, course people can rush to the 'rebels' cause if they want. Extra money...No, not really. If you went pillaging in a nearby country then maybe, but otherwise, no. Also, randomly....Invading countries obvouisly costs money. 10,000 troops costs 900 million to deploy for 1 year(Which is a trifling amount, basically 90k a year...compared with the 400,000 the US spends in Iraq(thanks Doom)) Defences cost less, obvouisly, about 30k a year per solider(on Alert, if they are reserves they cost nothing and we just say they are paid for by the GDP, not IAG and there is abso-tively no effect on gameplay until mobalised/put on alert). Shipping and all that is roleplay(Though you will need something to get troops from A-B). Figures are worked out at the beginning of the year, since even if they die you have had to spend money on them. Anywho: The Greek Army catches Albania completely off guard. With the deaths of some 5 soliders on the Greek side and 18 on the Albanian side, all top army officals, the defence collapses. Greek rallies are held in the streets. Infrastructure unexpectedly increases by .1 due to extra supplies, trains and vechicles. Cost of Attack :12,600,000,000 Treasury: 100,058,000,000 Infrastructure: 1.1 Air assult destroys the element of suprise and 3,000 troops are killed during the landing, along with the loss of 42 tanks, 4 AMXs and 0 Eurofighters. The encircling army seems largely unfazed by the air assault, but not unaffected. The breachead is quickly encircled and the commander makes the snap decision to call for reinforcements to help with the breakout, which succeeds with heavy casulities. Some 12,000 lose their life as well as a large number(130) of the tanks. Tunisia then panics and begins a counter offensive, which fails entirely, destroying the remnance of their army, leaving the defenders locked up inside the city. After only a few days it is clear that your Commander will not be sucical enough to charge the town and starves the town into submission, surrendering two months after the first bombs were dropped. The victory is bittersweet, with civilian casualites in the high(four digit) thousands and wide spread damage. Infrastructure takes a hit of 0.2. Cost of the attack: 4,500,000,000(Actives), 4,500,000,000(On Alert), 360,000,000(Tanks), 15,000,000(Planes) Total: 9,750,000,000 Treasury: 1,065,013,000,000 Infrastructure: 0.8 PS: Dungonal, I know, but it is something that I can actually fix(well do something about anyway  )

Ok, if anyone is on can they give me an update? I am running on 12 hours sleep in the last 80 something, I have been seriously Ill in three different places, I have screwed up a major friendship, then brought it back with a two hour long, and 1,280 character(320 words, approx) text message the next day. I have 15 PMs, most of which look like battle plans, I am back at Uni and need to do an essay in the next 7 days and prepare for exams after the next 3 weeks(approx), as well as find a house and marshal the design of a website for a course that I am getting no credit before thursday. Oh an I am currently in a relatively large amount of pain(Relatively small compared to the last 3 days, similar to the last two weeks and relatively large compared to normal.) Lastly I need to take some library books back for renewal, since I have done the 4 times I can renew them online/phone. Since I wasted the last two days wrecking and fixing my friendship(Singular, go me) I can't really go 'I am gonna go to sleep and deal with this later.' So I will read through whatever has been posted since I was last online, do any calculations I need to. Then I will go to the library, unless this has taken 4 hours, in which case I will go to sleep. When I get up I will check back here. Ps: If anyone wants to talk about this (post, stuff) can you please not post on this thread, just PM me.

Germany is in the process of being annexed by France, you might want to pick a different country.

So China is working on Pokemon while it is allied to Japan  Anywho, Kirby- best opening move read: http://users.aber.ac.uk/lug9/hege/hegemony/ (Hegemony minus all the rubbish.) Then work out who the biggest threat is, then start building an army/navy/airforce. Oh, and try to work out how IAG works, its all in the rules, if you have any specific questions then ask =D- Hegemony
Only if people want to say there is. It has no offical power...except to invade somewhere, declare you are peacekeeping and hope people agree. Anywho, I am off.- Hegemony
I haven't given it much thought...to be honest.- Hegemony
- Hegemony
Did you send me how many troops you are using?- Hegemony
It seems the majority are 'Oh my God, look, its something you didn't expect, which is mildly funny' Some are good, but most you sort of scroll over going 'Hmmm, I get that.'- Hegemony
Anything under 600 pixals across should display normally on most screens, anything larger than that should be in hide tags to prevent distortions.- Hegemony
Would you believe....Swiss Mercenaries? Just say they are from somewhere else...the UN maybe.- RPTools
You download maptools, you install it, you open it, you go to file and then follow Ross' instructions. http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=tools- Hegemony
If I was temporally insane then yes, it could, theoretically, spawn an army of 80 million. Far more likely is between 100,000 and 1 million. It would depend on what its neighbours were doing...France building an army of 20 million and stationing it on the Franco-German boarder would mean Germany would raise an army bigger than 1 million. Just like a player country...- Hegemony
Yeah, they get 20,000 soliders to defend each city(red dots on the map), plus a randomly sized army(not larger than the population) to retaliate against countries invading it. Annexing gets rid of this whole lot...and Conquering gets rid of this whole lot as well.- Hegemony
Guess so. Hegemony as a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhIFfasz6Ec&feature=related Right said Fred, give a shout to Charlie, up comes Charlie from the floor below After straining, heaving and complaining, we was getting nowhere- Hegemony
Thank you, seems reasonable to me.- Hegemony
Yeah...course you are... Anyway, we can't really go back to the first Hegemony....there are not the people joining and leaving that there was, so people don't inherent swathes of land. Also we tried not playing with rules....You were the one who said it was out of control...Remember. Anyway the whole point of removing all the armies is to stop people using it as an excuse for having a massive army...Example: I want a GDP the same as the USAs. The USA has an utterly ludicrous GDP, but everyone wants the highest figure. People can rearm, that doesn't really bother me, but they should rearm to some reasonable standard...not just: 'That country has a big army' 'That country is also 5 times the size of you' 'I am gonna have a big army like that country.' It also means that people don't suddenly find 500 tanks they didn't know they had...and then find them again next week.- Hegemony
Yeah. All armies were set to 0 when the game started.- Hegemony
Seems quite reasonable, given my limited knowladge of European Socialism and Canada. Given the quite radical shift in American Politics and Demographics I am gonna say it takes 20 years, and causes 15% infrastructure damage every 10 years(so 30% overal) Ignored Ok. Year 1: You state your intent Year 10: You pay the fee and your infrastrucure increases by whatever amount you paid for. Year 10: You gain the territory and recieve a 50% infrastructure hit. Year 10: Your new budget is calculated Year 20: Your new budget is calculated normally Year 20: The target countries IAG is calculated Year 20: Both of the IAGs are added together and the average infrastructure of both countries is taken. http://users.aber.ac.uk/lug9/hege/hegemony/ Also, please remember that all annexures are subject to the rule change, so annexing most of South America will wreck your Infrastructure entirely.- RPTools
Brilliant job Ross, I think everyone enjoyed themselves and learned something. Next time will be even better. For items: 2 Gold and 1 Buckler.- Fallen Star Plans
Sounds awesome, will check it out when I am not busy.- Hegemony
Sequence is your budget is worked out then you annex/fight places. So you would get the benefits 10 years down the line if you had it so you annexed directly before.- RPTools
Ross should get some kind of medal...- RPTools
Ok(was trying to connect via wales <_< ), now it is the wrong password, so what it is exactly? - Hegemony
