  1. Talking about being unfair for people who are trying to take the possessions of other players is a hoot. Is it unfair for a burglar to put your real live valuables in a safe? Is it unfair to protect your account from keyloggers? The whole idea of being fair to thugs who prey on other people is just juvenile and dumb.
  2. I think I am going to cry. My, after you attack and kill someone in the wild, you canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t loot his stuff. Is life unfair or what? You should be able to steal from people any time and at any amount you want. When bandits are not treated any better than this, it makes you ashamed of the whole human race.
  3. Very good message. I agree with almost everything you said. It is a good game, if we had people in Runescape who would read the instructions and actually try to follow them. I have been on teams that killed the queen twice, and that is it for me unless I can get a good team together. I quit one team because the collector did not shout out once in two straight games. I talked and talked to him to no good. It is the noobs that ruin it. However, there are some important changes that need to be made. 1) Having people quit in the middle of a game and losing a lot of work is unfair, and will severely dampen the popularity of this game. How many times can that happen before you just give up. 2) There needs to be a much improved system to create teams. It is very slow, very awkward, very poorly thought out. It is a huge time waster. 3) The rewards, once received, are not worth returning for. People will play until they get the few pieces of armor they want, and quit. What is there to keep people coming back. In a few months, it will be dead. The game is worth it for some of the armor, but the frustration level is too high to just play for fun. 4) Defender is too overworked and underappreciated. It has to be made easier. One way would be for the food to change less often ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ and I mean quite a bit less often. Otherwise, it is just nuts; annoying as all get out. The role of defender may be enough by itself to eventually ruin the game. 5) People who do not shout out instructions to other players need to be penalized. I mean it, they need to be made to suffer, painful consequences. Really. This game gave us another example of the lack of thinking of many Runescape players. I saw people with virtually no armor at all. I canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t believe that they are unable to see that having some protection, regardless of what role they are playing, will help them be more successful. I just donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get it. Also, I am combat level 124, and I had to convince people that I should be the attacker instead of some level 80. Why is the obvious so hard to grasp?
  4. This is the point exactly. There is stuff that I would like to buy. There is stuff I would like to sell. Some of my stuff completes the sets of others, some doesnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t. But, the time and effort and just plain annoyance with all the flashing screaming words on the screen, is just so too much at times. I would rather be playing the game than standing on some corner yelling, ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅSelling skeletal topÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  5. The update to Treasure Trails highlights one of RunescapeÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s greatest weaknesses: its trading system among players. With more new types of items, it only makes it that much harder to get a complete set of anything. More items, more sets are being introduced, but there is no accommodation in the game to get buyers and sellers of these items together. At some point, buying and selling by standing in banks or flowerbeds will become impossible for all but the most popular of items. What really makes this whole awkward trading system (actually, a lack of a trading system) ironic is that all of the games playerÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s items are already linked on a computer. The hard part in real life, getting the items of the different parties onto one platform, is accomplished. All Runescape need to do is develop a trading system that allows the players to use the currently existing electronic linkage of accounts. As the new Treasure Trail rewards become collected, more and more players will have one of this set, one of this set, one of this set and few complete sets, and an even more difficult time buying and selling among the partial sets he owns.
  6. I give up. Since you have played a game when lighting a fire was a complete skill, where cutting a branch off a tree was a complete skill, where hitting a rock with a pickaxe was a complete skill, where cooking a fish was a complete skill, I thought you could stretch your imagination a little to see how some other things, much more sophisticated than those, could also be developed. I asked too much. I seem to have a much higher opinion of the imagination of Jagex than some of the other players of this game. I see how they have used some of the newer skills, such as farming and construction, to add to and help develop existing skills. Look what farming did for herblore. So, a group of people, spending a few months thinking about how sewing could be incorporated into the other parts of this game ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ nay, nothing can be done there. But, if people canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see that making machinery, and everything that it entails and promises could be raised to the very high standards of complexity, usability, difficulty and refinement of, say, putting a fish onto a fire, I canÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t explain it.
  7. I see that some people think my ideas do not rate being considered a real skill. In a game where making fires is a skill, that really hurts. My idea of building a ship does not rate, but applying a tinderbox to a log does. You would think with actions as simple as using an axe on a tree, or tinderbox on a log, something like planting cotton, harvesting it, spinning it into tread, weaving it into cloth, dying it and then cutting and sewing a mage's robe would be considered of enough weigth to count as a skill. I see now the hurdle to be considered a skill is higher than I imagined. Swinging a pickaxe on a rock - now that is a skill. Building a ship - are you kidding?
  8. These could be more skills for the game. Post your other ideas. Sewing: Since we can now change our default clothing in our houses, we could make new default clothing, picking colors and styles. Some of the new default clothing could have stat increases for skills such as combat, ability, cooking, fishing etc. Or, just new clothing to be worn over the default clothes could have stat increases for skills like agility, cooking, fishing, mining etc. We could make new hats, robes and capes that have stats that are equal to or greater than currently enjoyed on these items: a range cape, new mage robes or the like. There could be new items for homes, or even, such as the additional spirit tree in farming, new balloon or magic carpet sites. Machinery: Runescape is full of machines. We can buy some machines, such as the cannon, or make some, like clocks. But a new machinery skill could bring all kinds of new machines to the game. Maybe a player can build his own underground cart system for transportation. Endurance: This skill would slow the drain of energy. It could also slow the drain on increases in stats from pots, such as defense, attack, strength, prayer etc. It could allow a faster restore of hit points. Ranching or animal husbandry: Since we have land around our houses, we could have various animals. Having a private herd of blue dragons would be a nice addition. Some animals, such as cattle, may need to be raised to feed the carnivores. This could be where the creatures used in summoning could be raised. Shipbuilding: This could also be part of construction. But, building our own ships to be used free at the ports, or new locations could be had. Ships could be used in trading, like in the historic spice and silk trade, buying goods in one land to be shipped and sold in another.
  9. To be completely accurate, the time it took to earn the money to buy any raw materials should be included. When it takes large amounts of cash, such as in construction, the time required to earn the 130M should be counted as well. Unless you use all time needed to earn money to buy things like bones, not just the time spent at the alter, your computations are all whacked.
  10. Look at farming and construction and how they benefited other skills. Farming is a great boon to herbalists. Construction has provided a new, fast, easy way to use dragon bones for prayer, cheaper repair of barrows armor, easier transportation around the world etc. Since primitive man used so much of the animal for so many things, hunting could be a significant aid for many skills. It would seem to me that hunting will be in preserves, or similar areas, where access is limited to those of sufficient hunting levels. Pelts and other items will probably be tradable to some ready trader for other types of items, which could be anything. Melee: New amour or weapons, either from trade, drop or manufacture. Range and Fletching: New arrow tips, new crossbows (magic), new and better bowstrings. Magic: New staffs (what would a staff made from Mammoth or Mastodon tusks do ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ summoning maybe?) Runecrafting: Maybe the blood altar will be in a high level hunting preserve. Agility: New shortcuts in preserves, new agility course in high level hunting preserve. Crafting: New armor, clothing, rings, amulets (again, Mammoth tusk amulet, what will it do?) Herblore: New seconds (organs from creatures) for new pots, we still need a good magic pot. Cooking: Meat for eating Construction: Ships for whaling, rugs, tents, chairs, Mammoth tusks thrones, hunting shacks. Farming: Bone meal fertilizer. Prayer: New bones, tusks etc. Thieving: Stealing the catch of NPC hunters. Mining: New mines. Fishing: New types of fishes and new fishing areas. Slayer: Slayer creatures that must be trapped, not killed. When you consider that this will open up new areas, the types and number of things that can be added to the game is almost unlimited. Maybe the elves will trade some interesting crystals for certain pelts ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ would you like a crystal long? Maybe 5 of some bone or pelt, as common a drop as rune boots or abby whips, can be traded for a new high powered weapon or armor with some trader. Jagex has been working on this for over a year for sure, they could have thought up all kinds of stuff during that time. DonÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t limit your imagination before the skill is introduced.
  11. I believe it to be the other way around. The price of rares is going up because of people moving money out of cash, because of the cap, and buying rares ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ pushing up their prices. This is a tragedy. I would personally be willing to pay $25 a month for membership to fund an increase in the money cap. This is how sorry I feel for those unfortunate few who are precluded from adding more money to their bank. The horror. :( :-w  :boohoo:
  12. In the post this references, I put in all kinds of emoticons in an attempt to demonstrate that my post was not serious. So, if you want to flame away on a joke, be my guest. If you don't have a sense of humor, it just isn't funny.
  13. I have seen a few comments regarding the relationship between rares and the gp cap which is causing such undue stress for so many of us players. If anything, the gp cap would tend to raise the price of rares. People who are running up against the gp cap would buy rares to reduce their cash balances, allowing them to earn even more millions in cash. Thus, increased demand for rares. And the demand would be a frantic ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åspend gp or lose itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  14. Yes, this has been a big problem for me. Just the other day I sold 200 blue phats, and I found I couldn't put any of the money in the bank because of the limit. Boy was I annoyed.
  15. I believe that the best plate and legs for PC is spined. It gives melee, mage and range defense, and in PC, we are attacked by all three. However, I am the only person I see using it. If you have 81 prayer, like me, then you can use the attack type prayers even without monks robes through the entire game, unless it is very slow. So, as far as I am concerned, the official pest control armor is SPINED.
  16. Nothing new would happen. Noobs would be going around saying, "free stuff plz."
  17. Talking. You talk nonsense to the monster for so long, it dies of boredom. Or, how about begging. You summon up a bunch of noobs who follow it around begging for free stuff. The monster dies just to escape.
  18. I just used my mask for a short time, and it went from 10 to 8. If these are not easy to recharge, they are worthless. At some time, one tires of all the disappearing benefits and having to recharge or repay for things. Some are worth it; this may very well not be. But, as fast as they deteriorate, there is no way I am going down there and spend the time and effort to obtain something that lasts no longer than that. I just tried to repair mine in my workroom, and it was a no go.
  19. You will be able to summon up a level 3 who will go around begging for free stuff from noobs. You will be able to summon up a level 5 that will attempt to make unsolicited trades with other noobs. You will be able to summon up a level 10 who will ask other noobs to take him to castle wars. That is what summoning will be.
  20. This just proves once more that our pkers are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
  21. Why don't you keep the teleports and just go around and beg for free stuff instead?
  22. Can the pkers get any more pathetic?
  23. I used to complain on these boards about the behavior of people playing pest control, and would get yelled at. I also used to complain to people in the game: kill spinners, attack the portal, keep the %$#! gate closed. Waste of time anymore. They don't care at all. They don't care if we win or lose. I am in the Central time zone. Only go late at night when the little ones have been sent to bed. That is the only time I will play pest control at all.
  24. Has anyone else noticed this hidden update on Pest Control? Sometimes a spinner will be busy healing a portal, and someone who is attacking the portal and standing right next the spinner, doesnÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see it. I know they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see it because they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t attack the spinner, and just keep beating away on the portal to no real effect. Surely, if they actually saw the spinner, they would realize that it is in their best interest to move their attention from the portal to the spinner. Since they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t, the only conclusion I can come to is that they donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see the spinner at all. It is invisible. What an update!
